Kelly Rowland Shuts Down Radio Hosts For Asking About Beyoncé & Destiny’s Child: “I’m Here Talking About ‘Mea Culpa'”
Image
Kelly Rowland is on a press tour promoting her Netflix film Mea Culpa and was asked about Beyoncé’s new country album and the possibility of a Destiny’s Child reunion.

Rowland and her Mea Culpa co-star Trevante Rhodes stopped by radio station V-103 Atlanta for an interview on The Big Tigger Morning Show with Jazzy McBee to talk about their film. However, things turned awkward when the show’s host asked about Beyoncé’s music.

“Your sis just dropped a whole new couple of songs, and it’s my understanding that Renaissance II may or may not be country-based, and then there’s a rumor going around that Renaissance III may be, either rock-based or a DC reunion,” Big Tigger asked.

Rowland replied with a wink, “That is her business to talk about, not mine.”

Jazzy McBee intervened and said, “And I know that you all are tired of answering those questions,...

Two kids accidentally awaken an evil that has lain dormant for a number of years. The terribly named ‘Bloody Bobby’ is now after them and their family and friends and they spend October 31st trying to survive through the night.

How the Scream TV series defied expectations
Despite scepticism from fans of the franchise, MTV's Scream series honours the first rule of remakes: don't eff with the original...

The Scream franchise is deservedly adored by cinemagoers and critics, and widely considered to be one of the best horror films to come out of the back end of the 90s. You can certainly see why, with Kevin Williamson's tack-sharp script packed with zingers, its overall clever subversion of the genre, a sterling central performance from Neve Campbell and an undercurrent of cheeky fun. The third act is still, to this day, a triumphant blend of humour, (literally) knife-edge tension and genuine scares.

Few horror movies have achieved what Scream did. Or, to give it its dues, what Scream 2 also did. The sequel to Wes Craven's original hit could have been a messy affair but it achieved an improbable feat: it was just as fun and spooky as the first.

Scream, Ep. 1.01 to 1.03: Sharpen your knives, this could actually be good
Scream, Season 1, Episodes 1-3

Created by Jill E. Blotevogel, Jay Beattie, and Dan Dworkin

Airs Tuesdays at 10pm (Et) on MTV

If one glances around at the Movie-to-tv adaptation landscape, things are looking surprisingly good. Hannibal is the best show on television right now, Fargo was one of the best surprises of last year and looks like it will continue as such in its second season this fall, and now MTV is adding one more Movie-to-tv adaptation to its roster; shout out to MTV’s other Movie-to-tv breadwinner Teen Wolf, a show that is totally unashamed of how ridiculous and heightened it is and succeeds because of it. MTV’s Scream is so far surprisingly not terrible in the same way that Albert Pujols is playing surprisingly not terrible baseball right now–it’s a comfort, but you still expect more.

This new series takes the iconic Scream franchise and fits it to television,...

MTV's 'Scream' Series Clip Brings Gory Death for Bella Thorne
Bella Thorne
After orchestrating a cyberbully video, the privileged Nina (Bella Thorne) gets a taste of her own medicine in an extended clip from MTV's new Scream TV series, premiering June 30. Bella Thorne debuted the footage herself during an appearance on NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers, which is essentially a modern-day version of the original Scream movie opening, featuring Drew Barrymore. As you can see in the video below, Nina doesn't exactly stick around for too long on the series, with fans getting a glimpse at the new version of the iconic Ghostface mask.

MTV and Dimension TV's Scream is based on the eponymous, international hit horror franchise. When Nina (Bella Thorne), a gorgeous entitled teen at Lakewood High School, is murdered in an apparent crime of passion, it exposes the inner workings of the town's complex social hierarchy. After Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus), a young artistic loner, is "outed" via cyberbullying,...

Scream Season 1 Review
One episode was provided for reviewing purposes prior to broadcast.

“You can’t do a slasher movie as a TV series,” posits the new resident meta-expert of MTV’s Scream, Noah Foster (John Karna). The token nerd argues that slasher movies burn bright and die fast, bodies piling up within minutes and the big reveal happening a sleek 90 minutes later. TV is more languid, giving ample opportunity to build up characters just in time to, in the case of the opening seven minutes of this new Scream, slit their throats. “You have to care. You have to root for them. So when they are brutally murdered, it hurts.”

I’ve spent approximately 41 minutes with this gaggle of hyper-aware, alcohol-guzzling millennials, and maybe the most surprising thing about the show is that, in all the efforts I put against it and its overly cutesy advertisements, I cared, and it did hurt.

MTV's 'Scream' Series Preview: Meet the Victims and Suspects
Willa Fitzgerald, Carlson Young, Bex Taylor-Klaus, John Karna, Sean Grandillo, and Amadeus Serafini in Scream: The TV Series (2015)
Who will live and who will die in MTV's new Scream TV series based on the popular horror franchise? A new series of character videos introduce the most likely victims, and even a few suspects. The show promises to trot out every single horror cliche imaginable. But what they do with those cliches will be as innovative and as twisted as what Wes Craven did in the movies.

First up in this set of character profile featurettes is Emma the virgin, or the innocent, played by Willa Fitzgerald. She is the protagonist, and in most horror movies, she is the 'final' girl, or the 'sole survivor'. In Scream, Emma is actively trying to take care of the people around her. But with MTV set to bring a new spin to the horror tropes on display, will she make it to the season finale? Or will she be one of the first to go?...

Laff 2015: Impressions of the Premiere Episode of Scream: The TV Series
If there’s one modern franchise I revisit several times a year, it’s Wes Craven’s Scream series (yes, even Scream 4). Ever since Drew Barrymore first took that ill-fated phone call, I was hooked and through three sequels, I’ve been there every step of the way, rooting on Sidney Prescott and hoping to see Ghostface dispose of his victims in the goriest of fashions.

Now that Scream is heading to the small screen with MTV’s new television series iteration, which begins on June 30th, those in attendance last night at the 2015 Los Angeles Film Festival had the opportunity to watch the first episode during a special red carpet event at the Regal Theaters at La Live. I will admit to being rather intrigued- and nervous- going into this first episode because I wasn’t sure how the approach was truly going to work but, much to my surprise,...

Murderer’s Mask from Scream TV Series Unveiled
One big difference between the small screen version of Scream and the movies is the killer's mask. Described as a mixture between the headgear of Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, and Ghostface, the mask from the Scream TV series has been revealed.

EW unveiled the first look at the murderer's mask in MTV's Scream TV series. Empty eye holes and a gaping mouth show some relation to the iconic Ghostface look, but this mask is also held down by slightly visible straps and retains a more human-like look with its realistic facial dimensions.

With the Scream TV series premiering on June 30th, we'll have to wait until later this summer to see who's hidden beneath this new mask and find out their motives (if any) for murder.

Speaking with EW, Scream film series director and Scream TV series executive producer Wes Craven mentioned that the different design of the killer's mask...

MTV’s Scream Doesn’t Play Well With Others In New Trailer
Well that’s one way of ensuring Scream is MTV’s highest-rated show this summer. I won’t spoil the clever teaser trailer that the teen-skewing network just unveiled for its upcoming adaptation of the iconic slasher franchise, but let’s just say that MTV fans are going to get a kick out of what the creative team for the series, arriving this June, has come up with.

When a Scream show was first announced, I was one of those people pretty evenly divided between excitement at all the delicious meta commentary an update could bring and trepidation that it would end the same way as MTV’s Skins and Inbetweeners takes (e.g. not well at all, and best forgotten very, very quickly). Since then, though, MTV’s advertisements for the series have done a pretty surprising job of getting me on the show’s side – with its fresh-faced cast,...

New Scream TV Series Trailer Kills off Familiar Faces
I was not happy with that first trailer for MTV's Scream TV series. I was hoping for a promo that would pay homage to one of my favorite films of all-time, but instead all I got was a cheap attempt to earn some buzz by leaning on the well-known horror franchise. No, you can't do the same things on MTV that you can do in a rated-r movie as far as blood and gore go, but you can still dish out jokes in the vein of the original film, introduce appealing characters and throw in the damn Ghostface mask for that matter. For lack of better terms, that first trailer felt very MTV, too MTV for anyone who's been watching Scream obsessively since the 90s. A brand new trailer for the series just dropped and it's even more MTV-ish than the last but, oddly enough, I love it. I'm not going to spoil the gag,...

Joel Gretsch (V, The 4400) has exited the cabler’s forthcoming TV adaptation of the big-screen franchise, and his series-regular role as Sheriff Hudson will be recast, TVLine has learned exclusively.

According to sources, producers opted to take the character — the small town’s “charming, charismatic, capable” lawman — in a different direction.

Scream TV Series to Re-Create Drew Barrymore’s Scene from Original Film
I have no idea what to expect from the upcoming Scream-inspired TV series being developed by MTV. One of the last things we heard was that the series wouldn’t even feature the iconic Ghost Face mask, which kind of makes the series pointless, because that was Scream’s staple. But there’s a new bit of news that could mean otherwise.

There’s a report from Bloody Disgusting that indicates that they may actually pay homage to the original films after all. They say that the series will recreate the classic opening scene from the original Scream, and it will supposedly take place in the first episode of the series. That opening sequence is one of the most infamous horror scenes in movie history.

Actress Bella Thorne also confirmed in a fan chat via Yahoo Celebrity that she will be the victim in this scene. She was asked...

MTV's TV series based on the "Scream" film franchise will reportedly recreate one of the most memorable scenes of the 1996 original - the Drew Barrymore-led opening sequence.

Like it did with the first film, the sequence will be used to kick start the TV series. Disney starlet Bella Thorne has apparently been cast in the role and revealed the news during a Facebook chat on Yahoo! Celebrity.

"Yes it is true. I will re-enact the famous scene of Drew Barrymore in the original series" she reportedly said and Bloody Disgusting later confirmed.

Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Bobby Campo, Connor Weil and Joel Gretsch star in the series which will will revolve around a YouTube video gone awry, leading to trouble for teenager Audrey Jesen who becomes a catalyst for murder and opens a window into her town's troubled past.

MTV’s Scream TV Series to Recreate Drew Barrymore’s Iconic Scene with Bella Thorne
MTV’s Scream TV series is just taking big risks across the board, isn’t it? Not only is the show doing away with the Ghostface mask and possibly running with one made of flesh instead, but there’s also a report floating around claiming it’ll attempt to recreate Drew Barrymore’s unforgettable death scene with Bella Thorne. Hit the jump for more on the new rendition of the scene and what it could mean for the show. The 10-episode series will begin in October 2015. It also stars Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Carlson Young, Amadeus Serafini, John Karna, Bobby Campo, Connor Weil and Joel Gretsch. The news comes from a Bloody Disgusting reader, but Thorne also confirmed her involvement during a Yahoo Celebrity Facebook Q&A. MTV's 'Scream': Bella Thorne to Recreate Drew Barrymore Scene
Drew Barrymore in Scream (1996)
MTV's Scream series may not be using the iconic Ghostface Killer mask, but it will recreate one of the original Scream film's most remembered scenes. In 1996, it came as a shock to audiences when Drew Barrymore didn't make it past the opening act, as she was set up to be the star of the movie. She was dispensed rather quickly by the main slasher. Now, MTV has gotten another big star, and it's confirmed that this same opening act will be used once again to kickstart this small screen reboot.

Disney mega-star Bella Thorne stated that she has been secretly cast by MTV for this homage to the original Wes Craven horror classic during a Facebook chat on Yahoo! Celebrity. Bloody Disgusting was later able to confirm this report. About appearing in the show, Bella Thorne stated:

"Yes it is true. i will re-enact the famous scene of drew barrymore in the original series.

'Scream' TV Show Will Feature a Darker, Evolved Ghostface Mask
Drew Barrymore in Scream (1996)
In mid-October, it was reported that MTV would not be using the iconic Ghostface mask from the movie franchise for its upcoming Scream TV series. While that is true, the killer won't be absent altogether, as MTV's senior vice president and head of scripted development reveals the show plans on creating an entirely new mask for the killer to wear.

Many fans have been wondering exactly how Scream will be Scream if Ghostface isn't around to dispatch teens at a random rate. Wouldn't it just be another generic slasher story evoking the nostalgia that comes along with the franchise title? EW talked with Mina Lefevre, who claims that the mask inspired by the Edvard Munch 'Scream' painting will have an organic feel this time around, which hints at it being made of human flesh.

Mina Lefevre explains:

"It's a darker, almost more grounded, evolved version of the mask.

Why MTV's 'Scream' is not using the film's Ghostface mask
Drew Barrymore in Scream (1996)
After MTV announced that the network’s Scream adaptation had been picked up to series, news spread that the show did not have the rights to use the iconic Ghostface mask that is synonymous with the franchise. You may have been one of the many fans scratching your head wondering: How is this Scream without the Scream mask?! EW has the scoop: In an effort to subvert expectations and create a wholly unique experience, the series has created a mask of its own. Similarly inspired by the Edvard Munch painting, the show’s mask will have a more, ahem, organic feel.
