Oops! Skip Tracer Randy Is Back with More Problems in 'The Rookie' Season 7, Episode 17 Promo
Image
John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) knows something is seriously wrong whenever Skip Tracer Randy (Flula Borg) drops by on The Rookie. It's been a while since the bounty hunter has been on the show, but he returns in Tuesday's episode, and as usual, something has gone wrong. "The team helps Skip Tracer Randy when his new love interest is kidnapped. Meanwhile, Angela (Alyssa Diaz) and Nyla (Mekia Cox) enlist their moms to help catch a con artist, and Wesley is threatened to drop a case," reads the logline for The Rookie Season 7, Episode 17, "Mutiny and the Bounty." ABC released a sneak peek of the episode airing on May 6, which features another weird connection to Nolan, like in Abigail's (Madeleine Coghlan) case.

Skip Tracer Randy comes bearing news. "I'm in love!" he tells Nolan. But that's something mundane that most people go through. However, Nolan is flabbergasted to learn that Randy's...

"Not This Season": 'The Rookie's Showrunner Casually Confirms the Return of Season 8's Big Villain
Image
The Rookie brought back Liam Glasser (Seth Gable) in Season 7, Episode 15, "A Deadly Secret," as documentarians revisited Westview, the condemned hospital where he had sharpened his serial killer teeth. It was revealed that someone had been deliberately using some illegal drugs for unsanctioned experiments, which affected some people. One of Abigail's (Madeleine Coghlan) final interviews included Glasser, who made a strong impression that he would appeal his case, citing the drugs as his defense. The development felt like a classic move by The Rookie, where it saves its villains for the future, and when asked about it, showrunner Alexi Hawley told TV Insider Glasser could return down the line. However, "Not this season," he said. "I think potentially going into Season 8. I mean, he’s such a great actor and such a great character, and we have not really ever taken anything to trial before on our show because...

The Rookie Boss Previews ‘Spooky’ Documentary Episode — #Chenford ‘Lie Detector Sequel’ Included!
Image
ABC’s The Rookie has scared up another reason to subject Nolan, Harper et al to documentary cameras.

The light procedural’s previous documentary-format episodes involved a former child actor turned cult leader, the murder of the director of onetime team member Aaron Thorsen’s reality show, and the truly rare instance of two cops arresting criminals (“Dim” and “Juicy”) who looked just like them.

"That's Always Part of Our Language": 'The Rookie' Showrunner Breaks Down Season 7, Episode 14's 'Silence of the Lambs' Inspiration [Exclusive]
Image
ABC's The Rookie just delivered one of the most shocking episodes of Season 7 thus far, complete with a major death that brings an ongoing storyline to a close and an emotional case for Celina (Lisseth Chavez) revolving around her dead sister. In the middle of it all, however, was a sequence inspired heavily by a classic thriller, the latest in the show's trend of paying homage to beloved films. During a larger discussion with Collider'sTherese Lacson about Episode 14, titled "Mad About Murder," showrunner Alexi Hawley broke down how the series honored 1991's The Silence of the Lambs with Celina's search for a missing pregnant woman named Aria (Julia Rose). He also discussed his mindset behind organically weaving references to movies into the world of John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and his team.

Season 7, Episode 14 sees Celina racing to stop a true-crime podcaster who is covering the abduction and murder of her sister as her latest case.

New 'The Rookie' Season 7 Promo Follows a Missing Person's Case With Strong Ties to John Nolan
Image
One of the biggest traditions on The Rookie is documentary-themed episodes. With Season 6 being short, the show skipped that tradition. In Season 7, we pick it up as Abigail Tierney (Madeleine Coghlan) goes missing while investigating the hospital that has delivered several serial killers in the last few episodes. "Documentary filmmakers interview the LAPD on a complicated missing person’s case connected to John (Nathan Fillion)," reads the logline for The Rookie Season 7, Episode 15, "A Deadly Secret." It's worth remembering that Abigail is Henry Nolan's (Zayne Emory) wife, and Henry is John's son. Therefore, this case hits home for Nolan since she is family.

The documentary-style episodes typically involve several interviewees being filmed on camera as the filmmakers seek firsthand accounts about the events that transpired. In this instance, Abigail was reported missing six months prior. She had also been working on a documentary that sought to answer some tough questions.

‘Lucifer’: Fox Sets Airdate For Two Bonus Episodes Of Canceled Series
Some good news for Lucifer fans. Fox says it will air two “bonus” episodes that were filmed earlier this spring. The episodes were scheduled to air in the fourth season, which of course, is not happening following the show’s cancellation.

The back-to-back “Boo Normal”/”Once Upon A Time” episodes will air Monday, May 28 beginning at 8 Pm, two weeks after the now-series finale.

This isn’t a first. Fox previously produced four stand-alone episodes in Season 2 that aired in the third season.

Per the network’s description for the bonus episodes: As Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and the team investigate the murder of a child psychiatrist, Ella (Aimee Garcia) thinks about a big childhood secret that she’s been hiding. Then, after Lucifer’s mom creates an alternate dimension, Lucifer now lives in a world where he not only has never met Chloe (Lauren German), but is granted the freedom of choice.

Tribeca 2016: Holidays Drags Greeting Cards Across Your Eyeballs
Horror films and holidays go hand in bloody hand with classics like Halloween, April Fool’s Day, Black Christmas, and… Friday the 13th? Sure, we’ll count it. (Hell, one of the best exists in print only — Mad Magazine’s “Arbor Day” is fantastic.) Horror anthologies have gotten into the mix in recent years with the likes of Trick ‘r Treat, Tales of Halloween, and A Christmas Horror Story, but while they all set their stories on the same day the latest entry is laying claim to the entire calendar. The simply-named Holidays features eight shorts, each set on a different holiday and directed by a different filmmaker, and as is the case with virtually every anthology film, they vary somewhat in quality — most are fine, but two are absolute mini-classics. Unlike some anthologies, there’s no connective tissue here tying the shorts together, and instead each simply ends with a greeting card displaying the title and...
