Leonardo De Bernardini

Leo Z, also known as Leonardo De Bernardini, is a highly talented and accomplished music composer, songwriter-producer, arranger, programmer, and pianist based in Los Angeles. Over the past two decades, he has gained immense popularity for his innovative and spiritually-infused music, seamlessly blending depth and modernity. Leo's expertise extends to various domains, from scoring for films to producing artists and creating his piano albums. Originally from Bologna, Italy, Leo received mentorship from the legendary producer Mauro Malavasi, known for his work with artists like Chic, Luther Vandross, and Andrea Bocelli. He has collaborated with major Italian artists, including Elisa, Lucio Dalla, and Andrea Bocelli. Since moving to Los Angeles, Leo has had the privilege of producing and arranging for celebrated artists such as Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, Elisa, Nathan Pacheco, Katherine Jenkins, David Archuleta, Tina Guo, and Allan Palacios. Apart from his collaborative musical projects, Leo has also released several piano-centric original albums, including "Materia Prima" (2018), "Unbreakable Healing" (2021), and "Penumbra" (2022). Leo's impressive portfolio of film scores includes a wide array of works, ranging from scoring the acclaimed futuristic web series "Electric City," starring Tom Hanks (which won the Streamy Award for Best Drama in 2013), to the John Malkovich film "Mindcage" (Lionsgate/ 2022) directed by Mauro Borrelli, a long-time collaborator of Tim Burton. He recently completed the music for the documentary "Unzipped" (Leyline / 2023), which delves into the subject of financial inequality in Venice, CA. Upcoming projects include an action thriller titled "Plain Sight," directed by Mauro Borrelli and slated for release in 2024.
