Running Aug. 7-17, the summer festival spotlights the best of shortform cinema, with winners of HollyShorts awards in four key categories earning automatic Oscar qualification: best short film grand prize, best animated short, best live action short, and best documentary short.

Megan Thee Stallion has responded to Tory Lanez’ legal team’s claims on new evidence in the firearms case that got him convicted to 10 years in prison, as the “Savage” rapper once again affirmed that Lanez shot her, while calling out his fans for continuing to harass her online.

Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, posted a lengthy response on TikTok Monday night, where she denied Lanez’ teams claims of “new fucking evidence” and asked the public to “stop making me re live being shot By Tory.”

“How much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening Every Day??” Pete wrote. “One min him/ yall said I was never shot now yall letting him play in yall face Again and say I was shot but it wasn’t him oh okay… ?!”

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was stabbed at California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi last Monday.

There's nothing worse than starting a TV show, getting invested in the rich plot and characters, and having it ruined by a bad final season. It follows a woman, Margaret (Nell Tiger Free), who goes to Rome to fully commit to the church. However, she soon faces the emergence of a deadly evil.

Along with Tiger Free, the cast of the horror film includes Bill Nighy, Ralph Ineson and Sônia Braga. The pteque marks the feature directorial debut of Arkasha Stevenson. The writers are Stevenson, Tim Smith and Keith Thomas from a story by Ben Jacoby.

The original film was released in June 1976 and was a huge box office success, grossing $60+ million during its theatrical run. The R-rated horror film earned two Oscar nominations, winning for Best Original Score (Jerry Goldsmith). It was also nominated for a WGA award, a Grammy, and a BAFTA award.

BBC's Merlin featured one of the best versions of Arthur Pendragon thanks to the electrifying performances of Bradley James and Colin Morgan. Instead of going for a typical medieval-style Arthur, BBC's Merlin went for a modernized king who was more humane and democratic with a sense of humor that humanized him more than other screen versions of the legendary king.

When Uther insisted on Arthur marrying from a royal family and only knighting nobles, Arthur went against all the rules in his bid to create a modernized version of Camelot. Netflix has slotted January 12 for the Season 2 premiere of Vikings: Valhalla and has released some first-look photos of the upcoming sophomore season, which you can see above and below.

Vikings: Valhalla, created by Jeb Stuart as a sequel to the Michael Hirst-created Vikings, quickly earned a two-season renewal following its Season 1 release in February and a strong showing in Netflix’s Top 10 viewership rankings. The drama begins in the early 11th century and chronicles the legendary adventures of some of the most famous Vikings who ever lived – Leif Eriksson, played by Sam Corlett, Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson), Harald Hardrada (Leo Suter), and the Norman King William the Conqueror. These men and women will blaze a path as they fight for survival in the ever-changing and evolving world.

Netflix on Monday revealed the hit Vikings sequel is set to premiere on January 12, 2023.

The second season comprises eight new episodes. Showrunner and creator Jeb Stuart continues for the second season.

Returning Cast members include Sam Corlett (Leif Eriksson), Frida Gustavsson (Freydis Eriksdotter), Leo Suter (Harald Sigurdsson), Bradley Freegard (King Canute), and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Olaf Haraldsson).

Netflix has been the home to some truly unique projects, and one of the most interesting looking additions is animated World War II series The Liberator. The show is based on Alex Kershaw’s book The Liberator: One World War II Soldier’s 500-Day Odyssey, and tells the story of Felix Sparks, a soldier from small town Arizona that ends up involved in the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp.

Die Hard and The Fugitive writer Jeb Stuart is the creative mind behind the ambitious small screen effort, which is set to premiere on Veteran’s Day, and the first trailer has now arrived and based on the visuals alone, The Liberator looks to be well worth checking out. The realistic animation brings to mind the rotoscoping techniques used by Richard Linklater in the likes of Waking Life and A Scanner Darkly, but set against the harrowing backdrop of World War II.

Netflix is taking on World War II. The streaming service just announced the premiere date for their new four-episode TV show, The Liberator.
