It's been a decade and a half since The Walking Dead premiered in 2010, and almost three years since the original show concluded in 2022. However, the universe keeps thriving with several spinoffs.
The AMC hit zombie series has spawned multiple spinoffs, but now only two of them remain: The Walking Dead: Dead City, which follows Maggie and Negan's adventures in New York, and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which continues the fan-favorite character's adventures in Europe. The two series have received mixed reviews, but have continued to be widely popular. Ahead of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3's premiere on Sept. 7, AMC has just confirmed at San Diego Comic Con at Hall H that Carol and Daryl's adventures will officially continue with the fourth and final season.
The new season will premiere shortly, and the cast and executive producers will do their best not to keep fans waiting.

Is there anywhere that Norman Reedus’ titular motorcycle-riding apocalypse survivor won’t go in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon? According to universe head Scott Gimple, the answer is no. We’ve long known that the third season of the uber-popular spin-off will see Daryl (Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) on their biggest journey yet as they travel to England in hopes of scoring passage back to the United States — or at least what’s left of it. But, their travels won’t be so straightforward, as they’ll embark on a quest that will take them through Spain, where trailers and teasers have foreshadowed most of the action to unfold.
While catching up with TV Insider ahead of the Season 2 finale of The Walking Dead: Dead City, Gimple revealed that there was plenty of uncharted territory and unique personalities set to run into the dynamic duo in the next set of episodes.

Despite ending the main series in 2022, AMC continues to churn out lots of Walking Dead content. And the result has actually been pretty good. Of course, we had The Ones Who Live in 2024, which continued the saga of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). Just recently, we wrapped up the second season of Dead City, which follows unlikely duo Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) as they explore a zombie-infested Manhattan. Franchise boss Scott M. Gimple has hinted numerous times that the wider universe could continue to expand into the foreseeable future.
Perhaps the most impressive spinoff is Daryl Dixon. Focusing on Norman Reedus' beloved character, the series shows a side of The Walking Dead Universe that fans have never seen before. When the flagship series The Walking Deadended back in 2022, it had been running for 11 seasons and was on air for 12 years. At the time, we had spin-off shows set in the same universe prior to the show's ending, namely Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Now, though, we have multiple spin-offs centered on some of our favorite characters fighting through the zombie apocalypse. One is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The show, which was originally conceived as a Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) spin-off, has taken quite a journey to get these two characters back together. Now, we have a Season 3 release date!

Tilman Singer’s latest horror film (after the chilling 2018 film Luz), Cuckoo, is a similarly unsettling terrifier that takes us into the world of a remote Bavarian resort. With a plot that keeps pushing new and mysterious elements that tease of psychological tension, supernatural horror, and family drama, Cuckoo explores themes of isolation, grief, and the dangers of not trusting one’s instincts. Starring Hunter Schafer, Dan Stevens, and Jessica Henwick, the film is intermittently captivating, building an eerie atmosphere and unnerving narrative. However, Cuckoo is never truly able to bring all the elements together, especially that baffling ending; it is crucial to look closely at it.

The post-apocalyptic AMC drama series “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” will film its third season across multiple regions in Spain. Production is currently underway for the new season, scheduled to premiere in 2025. This marks a shift from the previous French setting as the show explores different areas coping with the global walker outbreak.
Series lead characters Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier ended season two pursuing their goal to return home. In a post-finale teaser, Norman Reedus expressed Dixon’s exhaustion but determination, saying “I was ready to give up. Thought it was all over.” Melissa McBride’s Carol responded that she felt the same.
Showrunner David Zabel said the characters “should not settle down” and must “keep moving” on their journey. Filming will take place in Spain’s Galicia, Aragón, Catalonia, and Valencia regions to continuing telling their story. Zabel hinted future seasons may explore more global locations depending on the characters’ paths.

[This story contains major spoilers from the season finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, “The Book of Carol.”]
After Sunday night’s season finale, Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier are set to continue on a European journey that will eventually have a next stop in Spain. And a new, post-finale teaser shows a brief glimpse at what’s in store when the The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon stars eventually get there.
The teaser (below) debuted during Sunday night’s finale of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, “The Book of Carol,” which left the recently reunited zombie-fighting travelers in a tunnel heading to London. With production on the already renewed third season now underway in Spain, the big question is: How will Daryl and Carol wind up there?
“I was ready to give up. Thought it was all over,” Daryl (Norman Reedus) tells Carol (Melissa McBride) in the teaser. “You and me both,” she replies, with as much of a smile as she can muster.

Horror continues to be the surest of sure non-ip things at the box office, so it's a bummer that Tilman Singer's "Cuckoo" couldn't catch on theatrically like its distributor Neon's "Longlegs" did back in July. The film received mostly positive reviews (it currently holds a 77% fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes), and boasted an acclaimed performance from "Euphoria" star Hunter Schafer, but it just couldn't generate the must-see buzz of Osgood Perkins' skin-crawling sensation. Dan Stevens turns in a far more interestingly unhinged performance than Nicolas Cage's one-note shriek-show in "Longlegs," but Stevens, for whatever reason (and it's getting fairly baffling by this point), isn't an A-lister. He's handsome, he's charming, he's ridiculously talented — what's the problem here?
In any event, since you probably missed "Cuckoo" during its brief theatrical run, you'll now be able to discover its nutty pleasures. As is typically the case with horror movies nowadays,...

Following the box office success of Immaculate and especially Longlegs, Neon is back on the big screen with their latest horror offering Cuckoo, which has been earing rave reviews from critics and horror fans alike. It’s undoubtedly a far less mainstream horror movie than Longlegs, however, and it was only released in 1,503 theaters nationwide over the weekend.
How did Cuckoo fare in its opening weekend at the box office? It’s no Longlegs but Neon is surely smiling at the indie horror movie’s $3,012,500 opening weekend this morning. Interesting to note, Cuckoo is currently sitting in the #9 spot on the domestic box office charts, with Longlegs making another $2 million over the weekend and finding itself in the #10 spot.
Cuckoo is the latest horror movie from writer/director Tilman Singer (Luz). The film’s reported production budget was a mere $7 million. Hunter Schafer (“Euphoria”) stars.

Fresh off a recent turn in “The Hunger Games” universe at the end of last year and a cameo in Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Kinds of Kindness” earlier this summer, Hunter Schafer is quickly returning back to the silver screen with “Luz” filmmaker Tilman Singer’s “Cuckoo.” The film centers on 17-year-old Gretchen (Schafer), who is forced to leave her American home to live with her father in a resort in the German Alps with his new wife and family, before things very quickly spin out of control into a surreal horror nightmare.
Three months after the Season 2 finale of “Euphoria” aired, Schafer flew to Germany to star in her very first feature film. “Looking back on the experience overall, the biggest difference is that I started ‘Euphoria’ in 2019 and it’s still going now. And then with something like ‘Cuckoo,’ with this experience, it lives solely in those three months [of production], at...
