Tom Mison (Sleepy Hollow, Watchmen) is among seven actors joining the recurring cast of MGM+’s modernized Robin Hood adaptation, our sister site Deadline reports. Mison will play Hugh, the father of Rob (NCIS: Sydney‘s Jack Patten), described as a “proud Saxon with deep ties to the land.”

Other additions include Graeme Thomas King (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists), Anastasia Griffith (Once Upon a Time), Matija Gredić, Mihailo Lazić, Boban Marjanović (John Wick: Chapter 3) and Jelena Gavrilović (The Outpost).

Michael Roark is joining the cast of Peacock’s “Days of our Lives” in an as-yet-to-be-announced character, it was announced on Monday.

First reported by The Buzz as a rumor, the casting news was later confirmed by Soap Opera Digest, with a show spokesperson saying, “Yes, Michael Roark has been taping but won’t be seen on-air until the first week of October. No comment about the role he is playing nor the storyline in which he is involved. Stay tuned!”

Soap fans will remember Roark for his role as Travis Crawford on “The Young and the Restless” in 2016, where he was romantically involved with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), whom he met after she began frequenting his bar, Hank’s Dive Bar. He later became an employee of Newman Enterprises, though the job didn’t last after several of his lies became public.

“Angel Has Fallen” continues to fly at the box office. The Lionsgate and Millennium film is heading for a $14 million Labor Day weekend, following $2.8 million in Friday’s domestic ticket sales.

While slightly below earlier predictions, that should push the film’s total domestic gross to around $43 million come Monday. “Angel Has Fallen” beat expectations when it debuted to $21.25 million last weekend — on par with its predecessors, 2016’s “London Has Fallen” and 2013’s “Olympus Has Fallen.” Gerard Butler stars in the action franchise as a Secret Service agent who must prove his innocence after being framed for an attack on the United States president (Morgan Freeman).

Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman are showing staying power at the North American box office as “Angel Has Fallen” heads for a passable $15 million Labor Day holiday weekend, late afternoon estimates showed Friday.

The third entry in Lionsgate-Millennium’s action franchise will finish the frame with about $44 million in its first 11 days. Butler stars as a Secret Service Agent trying to clear his name after being framed for an attack on the U.S. President, played by Freeman.

“Angel Has Fallen,” which took in $21 million in its opening weekend, will easily top the third weekend of Universal’s R-rated comedy “Good Boys” during the four-day frame. “Good Boys” should take in around $10 million, lifting its 18-day total to about $57 million.

Disney’s seventh weekend of its photorealistic remake of “The Lion King” and Sony’s second weekend of faith-based drama “Overcomer” will battle for third place with about $8 million each.

Supernatural thriller “Don’t Let Go” has scared up $150,000 at 922 North American locations in Thursday night preview showings.

“Don’t Let Go” is expected to earn between $3 million and $5 million during what should be a typically mild Labor Day weekend at the nation’s multiplexes with the second session for “Angel Has Fallen” likely to repeat as the winner.

“Don’t Let Go,” which premiered at Sundance under the title “Relive,” stars David Oyelowo as a detective working to solve a murder after he receives a phone call from his dead niece, played by Storm Reid. It was produced by Jason Blum and directed by Jacob Aaron Estes, with Blumhouse Tilt and Otl Releasing handling distribution. Reviews have been mixed with a 47% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. “Don’t Let Go” has a modest $5 million production budget.

Also opening this weekend is Forrest Film’s drama “Bennett’s War” at around 800 venues amid similarly modest expectations.

Witherspoon and Lauren Levy Neustadter will produce for their Hello Sunshine production company, which picked up the rights last year. The book is the winner of the 2018 Costa Debut Novel Award and is told from the point of the protagonist, a socially awkward 29-year-old in Glasgow, Scotland, with suppressed memories of a brutal childhood. The adaptation is being written by Liz Hannah, who wrote Steven Spielberg’s “The Post.”
