Chrissy Teigen is taking her love for true crime even further. The 35-year-old cookbook author will be cohosting a special episode of the popular True Crime Obsessed podcast alongside hosts Patrick Hinds and Gillian Pensavalle on March 25. In an exclusive clip of the upcoming episode, Chrissy is joined by John Legend as they debunk a wild conspiracy theory about them being part of the Illuminati.

"We are the most boring people on the planet!" Chrissy exclaimed, adding: "It started so long ago, like we were in Hong Kong and our plane turning back around was the root of it. . . . I tweeted through the whole thing because I was like, 'This is amazing!' And then it became, 'Oh, Chrissy is being arrested finally.'" John then explained that there's a theory floating around that all the stars that are part of the Illuminati are getting secretly arrested,...

Patreon Founder Jack Conte Launches ‘Super Patron’ Endowment That Will Give Creators A Yearly Salary
Jack Conte, the co-founder of Patreon, is launching a new endowment fund that will give creators -- of any following size or location -- what amounts to a year’s salary, so that they can focus on the act of creation full-time.

Cheekily dubbed Super Patron: A Creator Arts Endowment F*ck Yeah!, the initiative was inspired by author Harper Lee -- who received a gift of a year's wages from friends telling her to write whatever she wanted, which ultimately became To Kill A Mockingbird -- and was started with $1 million worth of Patreon’s stock. That said, Super Patron is a separate initiative from Patreon itself, and is a 501c3 non-profit.

Applications are open now, and the recipient of the first grant -- for $50,000 -- will be announced in December. Recipients will be selected by a committee consisting of comedian and Patreon investor Hannibal Burress, veteran YouTuber Grace Helbig,...

Fund This: ‘The Residuals’ Wants $20,000 To Poke Fun At Actors
Project Name: The Residuals Asking For: $20,000 Kickstarter Amount Raised Thus Far (At Time Of Post): $9,076 Days Remaining In Campaign (At Time Of Post): 9 Description: The Residuals is a web series about actors. That sentence alone could apply to dozens of independent web series released in the past year alone, but The Residuals aims for something higher by centering on characters who aren't quite good enough. When I wrote about the series for Tubefilter's Indie Spotlight, I discussed the ways in which its characters--from the protagonists looking for simple commercial work, to the perfectionist casting directors, to the horde of anonymous tryhards hoping to land a big role, to the web series creators with no good sketch ideas--all reflect how difficult it is to get your name out there. What I'm trying to say is that I liked it. Now, creators Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle are trying to make a second season,...

Indie Spotlight: For ‘The Residuals’, Self-Awareness Is Key
Another web series has added to the growing number of comedies about struggling actors, but unlike many of its contemporaries, it seems to be fully aware of its common premise. The Residuals, created by the husband-and-wife team of Michael Paul Smith and Gillian Pensavalle, follows its protagonists as they apply for commercial work alongside a horde of unqualified actors. In the first episode of The Residuals, Pete (played by Smith) goes to an audition for a pharmaceutical company, only to be paired with a dramatic over-actor who tanks his chance of scoring the role. The competing actors in The Residuals are like the townspeople in Parks and Recreation: They're an easy source of humor, but they also represent an industry where everyone wants to be the hero. This theme, intentionally or not, also relates to the series as a whole and its position in the crowded word of web series about struggling actors.
