Why did Jeremy Renner Turn Down Mission: Impossible?
Image
Here’s why Jeremy Renner refused to return for Mission Impossible. ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Jeremy Renner chose dad life over action-packed stunts. Yep, you heard that right. The Marvel star turned down a franchise that defines explosive action to be there for his daughter, Ava.

Renner spilled the tea on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, explaining that there was no way he could leave his 11-year-old for a year and a half. “There [was] no schedule, so I can’t go out for a year and a half. I gotta go be a dad,” Renner said, adding that it wasn’t just about the distance—it was about Ava. “I couldn’t move my daughter out here; her mom was back home. I was landlocked.”

But here’s where it gets even crazier. The Mission: Impossible team didn’t just ask him to return—they offered him a week-long trip overseas.

Mission: Impossible Is Running Out Of Tom Cruise Replacements
Image
Mission: Impossible movies have been searching for a replacement for Tom Cruise, but options are limited as he plans to leave the franchise. Jeremy Renner and Rebecca Ferguson were considered possible replacements, but both characters have been written out of the series. A Mission: Impossible movie without Cruise may not work due to his star power and the franchise's reliance on his daring stunts.

For more than a decade now, the Mission: Impossible movies have tried to introduce a new actor to replace Tom Cruise when he retires from the franchise, but the producers are running out of options. Since the original 1996 movie, Cruise has anchored the Mission: Impossible series with his lead turn as roguish Imf agent Ethan Hunt. But it’s only a matter of time before Cruise steps down from the franchise to focus on other projects, and his possible replacements are being increasingly limited.

The two-part Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning,...

Politician-Led Union Group to Buy Chicago Sun-Times
An investment group led by a former Chicago politician that includes several labor unions has agreed to acquire the parent company of the Chicago Sun-Times, that newspaper reported Wednesday. Former alderman Edwin Eisendrath shepherded a team including corporate finance expert William Brandt, the Chicago Federation of Labor, other unnamed unions and a handful of individuals that placed the winning bid in an auction for Wrapports, the parent of the Sun-Times and the Chicago Reader, which is also part of the deal. Tronc, the owner of the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune, the city’s other major newspaper, made an offer.

Hawkeye Is Reportedly Set to Appear in Ant-man And The Wasp
This week at CinemaCon we learned that Jeremy Renner would not be reprising his role as William Brandt in Mission: Impossible 6. I wondered why that was, and according to Showbiz411, the reason is because he's too busy playing around in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The site says that he will be shooting the next two Avengers films back-to-back, and after that he will also reprise his role as Hawkeye in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

We got to see Hawkeye and Ant-Man fight alongside each other in Captain America: Civil War, and they made a great team. It was especially fun to see Ant-Man taking a ride on one of Hawkeye's arrows.

Marvel has yet to confirm that Renner will return, so as of right now we should treat this all as a rumor. But it would be awesome to see Hawkeye join Ant-Man and The Wasp on their new adventure.

Henry Cavill Chooses To Accept, Joins Mission: Impossible 6
The Mission: Impossible franchise is a rarity in that the films keep getting better and better. Though the original 1996 film is an untouchable classic, M:i-2 took a tremendous dip in quality, but each successive film has improved over the last with Rogue Nation easily the best outing since the original. Bond films have highs and lows, about every other film these days, but Mission: Impossible is on a hot streak, even as Tom Cruise slowly ages out of the role. Perhaps this is why director Christopher McQuarrie took to Instagram to invite Henry Cavill of Batman V Superman fame to join production on Mission: Impossible 6.

The sixth installment of the franchise begins shooting soon in order to hit the July 27, 2018 release date set by Paramount, a full three years after Mission:Impossible - Rogue Nation. Christopher McQuarrie returns to write and direct, hot off Rogue Nation and still riding high...
