Adrien Brody in Chapelwaite (2021)
Chapelwaite Canceled at MGM+, Season 2 Renewal Rescinded as Streamer Greenlights True-Crime Docuseries
Adrien Brody in Chapelwaite (2021)
We have some bad news for fans of Chapelwaite.

The horror drama will not be returning for a second season.

Co-creator and Executive Producer Jason Filardi took to X to share the sad news.

"I'm afraid Captain Boone's story ends on that beach of weathered, Maine sand," Filardi posted.

"There will be no Season 2. Thank you to all the Chapelwaite fans!"

Chapelwaite launched in August 2021, with the development of a second season being announced shortly after.

But with a lack of updates, fans were left pondering what would become of the series.

Unfortunately, it's likely that no episodes were produced for the planned second season, and Epix becoming MGM+ likely changed the streamer's priorities away from making the new season.

Set in the 1850s, the Chapelwaite follows Captain Charles Boone (Adrien Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher's Corners,...

Stephen King Vampire Series Chapelwaite Starring Adrien Brody Not Returning for Season 2

Season two of Chapelwaite, based on Stephen King's prequel story, won't be happening. Chapelwaite follows Captain Charles Boone, who confronts his family's dark secrets in the 1850s. Adrien Brody described working on a Stephen King project as a privilege and praised the show's dark and foreboding tone that honors King's work.

Chapelwaite showrunner Jason Filardi has announced that season two won't be moving forward. The series' co-showrunner, who also served a writer and executive producer alongside Peter Filardi, broke the news on Twitter (aka X), saying, "I'm afraid Captain Boone's story ends on that beach of weathered, Maine sand. There will be no season 2. Thank you to all the Chapelwaite fans!"

Stephen King at an event for The Manchurian Candidate (2004)
“Chapelwaite” – Season 2 of Stephen King Horror Series Not Moving Forward Per Showrunner
Stephen King at an event for The Manchurian Candidate (2004)
It’s tough out there for adaptations of Stephen King‘s Salem’s Lot and its prequel story “Jerusalem’s Lot.” While the Salem’s Lot remake hangs in limbo without a release date, the “Chapelwaite” showrunner announced today that season two won’t be moving forward after all, despite a renewal in 2022.

“Chapelwaite” co-showrunner Jason Filardi broke the news via X, formerly known as Twitter. Jason Filardi served as showrunner, writer, and executive producer alongside Peter Filardi.

Stephen King‘s prequel story “Jerusalem’s Lot” published in 1978 and featured the fictional town King introduced a few years prior in the novel Salem’s Lot. “Chapelwaite” premiered in August 2021 on Epix, with season two development plans announced in February 2022.

Considering Epix rebranded as MGM+ earlier this year,...
