Joe E. Tata, Peach Pit Owner Nat Bussichio on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210,’ Dies at 85
Joe E. Tata, the prolific and versatile TV actor whose most enduring role was as Nat Bussichio, the owner of the Peach Pit on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” has died. He was 85.

“90210” castmate Ian Ziering relayed the news on Facebook, and TMZ later confirmed his death, saying Tata had battled Alzheimer’s since 2014 (the year of his last credited role).

Ziering, who played Steve Sanders on the ’90s show, wrote: “Joey was truly an Og, I remember seeing him on the Rockford files with James Garner years before we worked together on 90210. He was often one of the background villains in the original Batman series. One of the happiest people I’ve ever worked with, he was as generous with his wisdom as he was with his kindness. Though the peach pit was a 90210 set, It often felt like the backdrop to the Joe E Tata show. The...

Sarah Michelle Gellar set to return to TV in Untitled Sitcom
Having made her mark on the small screen with a role that won’t soon be forgotten, Sarah Michelle Gellar returned once more to television back in 2011 in The CW’s short-lived Ringer.

It looks like Gellar is now hoping to take the lead in a new programme, and if all goes well, will be venturing into the world of sitcoms for an untitled series that is currently being developed at Fox, TV Line report.

The show,

“chronicles the hijinks parents get into while their kids are not at home.”

And Gellar would be playing the wife/mother.

The script has been written by Shepard Boucher, whose credits include serving as a staff writer on Men at Work, starring Danny Masterson (That ’70s Show) and Adam Busch (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), which began airing last spring.

Sarah Michelle Gellar back on TV – Goes From Ringer to Parenthood-Themed Comedy?
Some people belong on television. In my humble opinion, Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of those people. With the moody CW soap Ringer dead and buried after just one season, is Gellar ready for her next come-back?

According to the new TV Line exclusive, there’s a new half-hour comedy in the works and it’s got Gellar’s name all over it. I’m glad, of course, but my initial concern is, a comedy? Really?

The series, which is as of yet untitled, is being developed over at 20th Century Fox TV, which boys and girls, was also home to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Oooo! I can’t get a feel for whether this is clean fun, or one of those sitcoms that would air closer to my bedtime. Still, it has a family centric plot. It details the crazy capers parents can get caught up in when their kids are not at home.

Sarah Michelle Gellar to take another stab at television, this time on a sitcom
With her most recent television comeback, Ringer, earning the rare distinction of being canceled by The CW (presumably after it started several office fires), Sarah Michelle Gellar is attempting to find more gainful employment that will allow Freddie Prinze Jr. to stay at home, hosting Tupperware parties and making himself look pretty. TV Line reports that her next possible project will be intentional comedy this time, namely a sitcom from Men At Work's Shepard Boucher that will tackle the world of motherhood with the same satirical acuity that show tackles the world of men with vaguely defined personalities. Gellar ...

Sarah Michelle Gellar Attached To Mom Comedy Project At 20th Century Fox TV
The CW brass were hoping to keep Sarah Michelle Gellar into the fold after the cancellation of her drama series Ringer. But seems like the Buffy The Vampire Slayer alumna will be headed elsewhere. Gellar is attached to a comedy script set up at 20th Century Fox TV, as first reported by TVLine. I hear the untitled project, from up-and-coming writer Shepard Boucher (Men At Work), chronicles the hijinks of two moms, one played by Gellar, while their kids are at school. ICM Partners-repped Boucher wrote the project on spec. The agency, which also reps Gellar, showed it to the actress who liked it and came on board. In part because of Gellar’s relationship with 20th TV chairman Dana Walden going back to Gellar’s says on the studio’s drama Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the project was set up at 20th TV, which put in development. Studio-based...

Sarah Michelle Gellar Might Give TV Comedy Another Try
Danny Masterson, Adam Busch, James Lesure, and Michael Cassidy in Men at Work (2012)
The actress, who has been looking for a new project ever since the CW cancelled the production values-challenged Ringer last summer, is reportedly eyeing a comedy by Men at Work's Shepard Boucher that's in development at 20th Century Fox. It would be Gellar's second comedic outing since the failure of her 2009 HBO pilot, The Wonderful Maladys, in which she played an aggressive alcoholic of a dysfunctional family. This go-around, she'd play a fun housewife who has to find wacky ways to amuse herself once her children go off to school. It's a long way from Buffy, but we guess everything is.

Sarah Michelle Gellar starring in a comedy pilot
Sarah Michelle Gellar's TV return in "Ringer" last year didn't work out so well. But she's looking to get back on your screen next season, this time in a comedy pilot.

Gellar is attached to an untitled comedy set up at 20th Century Fox TV, TVLine reports. It's about parents and what they do when the kids aren't around. Gellar would play one half of the show's central couple.

The pilot is based on a spec script by Shepard Boucher ("Men at Work"). Comedy veteran David Hemingson ("Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23," "Just Shoot Me") and Margaret Riley ("Love and Other Drugs") are on board as executive producers.

It doesn't have a network home yet but will be shopped around in the next few weeks. The networks have already made most of their script purchases for the coming development season, but with Gellar attached this one could easily stir interest.
