Nakkash: This cinema carved with hope deserves to be tax free
At times when we see humanity getting choked by selfish motives in the name of religion, Zaigham Imam?s Nakkash dipped in the divine Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb (fusion of Hindu and Muslim elements) is carved with hope and rightly deserves to be tax free across India, feels this author.

?Ya Allah, Kitne Aache Bhagwan Hai? says the 6 ? 7 year old Mohammed (Siddu ? very good) son of Alla Rakha Siddiqui (Inaamul Haq ? brilliant)) an artist, a pious soul who is following his family tradition of designing the interiors of Hindu temples. Nakkash

Starring Inaamulhaq, Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra

Above all Nakkash is the tale of friendship between two men of lowly means Allahrakha (Inaamulhaq) , a craftsman who carves figures in gold on temple walls , is a single father who is raising his little son with the help of his best friend Samad (Sharib Hashmi). It’s heartwarming how the little boy refers to his father and his...

Nakkash Movie Review
Nakkash, meaning engraver (one who designs on metal or wood), is a balanced faith film that does not preach any religion but opens your eyes as to where humanity is heading. The messages hit you straight, on target, when you hear, "Kaam aur mazhab ke beech kissi ek ko chun-na hai", which literally means, you need to choose any one, between your profession and religion.

At another instance, we are told, do you select the grains you eat depending on who harvests the crops? So why this discrimination? The messages are subtle and flow naturally in this social drama based in Varanasi.

A Muslim, Allah Rakha Siddiqui (Inaamulhaq) is a widower with a young son. He hails from a family of talented engravers who live in Varanasi and like his ancestors, under the patronage of "Vedantiji" (Kumud Mishra) the head priest of a Hindu temple, he too works in temples,...
