Dancing With the Stars celebrated its 33rd season on Sunday with a For Your Consideration Emmys event in Hollywood.

Pro dancers Alan Bersten, Brandon Armstrong, Britt Stewart, Daniella Karagach, Emma Slater, Ezra Sosa, Gleb Savchenko, Pasha Pashkov, and Rylee Arnold were joined by runner-up Ilona Maher (Olympic rugby player), third-place finisher Chandler Kinney (actress and singer), and fourth-place contestant Stephen Nedoroscik (Olympic gymnast) for an afternoon of ballroom dancing at the Dolby Theatre.

Season 30's fourth-place finalist Amanda Kloots moderated the panel, which welcomed judge Derek Hough, cohost Julianne Hough, pro dancer/mirrorball champion Jenna Johnson, and The Bachelor star/mirrorball champion Joey Graziadei. Since its debut in 2005, Dancing With the Stars has been nominated for 124 Emmy Awards and won 21 trophies, including four for Derek Hough for choreography.

"I was bullied as a kid going to school for being a dancer — I was picked on," Derek told the crowd of Emmy voters and industry insiders.

Dancing With The Stars standouts Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson decided to honor former DWTS duo Riker Lynch and Allison Holker during the show's monumental 500th episode Tuesday (Nov. 12), and it's safe to say that they did not disappoint with their passion-packed performance.

For those who did not tune in, during the 500th episode of Dancing With The Stars, "each couple paid tribute to past memorable dances while adding their own unique reinterpretation and flair for Season 33."

As mentioned, Joey and Jenna decided to recreate Riker and Allison's Season 20 Contemporary routine to "Work Song" by Hozier.

And despite receiving a lower score than the week before, the routine was as exceptional as could be.

The show returns on November 12 after a two-week hiatus where the remaining six couples will pay tribute to DWTS' 500th episode. To honor the milestone, each couple will put their own twist on iconic past performances.

Rumor has it that former pros and previous stars who competed are likely to return (and possibly perform) for the special episode. Past pros like Mark Ballas, Karina Smirnoff, and Sharna Burgess have all been rumored to make an appearance as fans anticipate a fun-filled night.

However, former pro and two-time mirrorball trophy winner, Cheryl Burke, made it known that she would not be present for the 500th episode. It is a total let down to fans, but Cheryl divulged why exactly she made the controversial decision not to be a part of such a special night.

Last week, Dancing With The Stars was preempted for a second time in Season 33 this time for the 2024 election but the reality TV dance competition is making up for it with a "very special episode."

As we recently reported, last week's skipped episode happened to coincide with DWTS' 500th episode, so fans will be rewarded for their patience with an even livelier and more action-packed celebration.

In an October 31 press release, ABC listed off the show's accomplishments, and teased the upcoming episode:

"After 21 Emmys, 51 pros, 394 Stars, 32 winners and thousands of iconic performances, 'Dancing with the Stars' celebrates the milestone 500th episode for a night full of dazzling moves and star-studded moments."

DWTS' most recent milestone of the sort was its 400th episode, which aired on March 20, 2017.

Dancing With The Stars host Alfonso Ribeiro injured his ankle during a dance number at Disney World.

Alfonso was visible in several Disney World-based TikTok videos on Sunday, and he appeared to be rehearsing a parade dance number with DWTS' Julianne Hough.

In several of the clips, Alfonso and Julianne are seen from various vantage points, dancing along a parade route on the park's Main Street, USA.

Watching the clips with the knowledge Alfonso ultimately sustained a minor injury was a little stressful, as in each one, the reality TV host was filmed repeatedly dancing over trolley tracks in the center of the street.
