‘Psycho Storm Chaser’ Review
Image
Stars: Tara Erickson, Rib Hillis, Mary O’Neil, Ivan Djurovic, Clarke Wolfe, Ali Zahiri | Written by Jay Black | Directed by Buz Wallick

I was sold on Psycho Storm Chaser as soon as I read its synopsis. It reads: ‘An at-home care nurse must survive a category 3 hurricane as well as a storm chasing serial killer that uses storms to cover up his heinous crimes’. I was in luck too because the movie is nearly as dumb and ridiculous as that sounds.

That’s not to say I didn’t like it though. I know there are plenty of movie lovers that will read that synopsis and either decide they are not going to bother with the movie or they are watching it expecting to not enjoy it. I was hoping it would it least meet my relatively low expectations and have some fun with its own story.

Psycho Storm Chaser is...

Fajr International Film Festival Tehran 35th Anniversary As It Happened
Reza Mirkarimi
You see “Iran” and think certain things. You go to Iran and see the people, the shops, street activity, the environment, its museums and you forget the two things about it which shape your emotional reaction to it: politics and history. Being one of two Americans attending the Fajr International Film Festival makes me feel responsible for sharing my best moments with a broader public.

The Fajr International Film Festival is a gala affair, small enough to meet and share time with the many participants, both filmmakers and invitees from countries as diverse as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Armenia, Turkey, Japan, Mongolia and Korea (and more!). I can only think of one other film event which offered such a luxurious array of experiences to go along with film watching (when Rosskino of Russia invited 25 U.S.distributors and us to Moscow and St. Petersburg and then repeated the event for Brics countries...

‘It Watches’ Review
Stars: Ivan Djurovic, Rick Irwin, Sanny van Heteren, James Duval | Written by Dave Parker, Ivan Djurovic | Directed by Dave Parker

I just finished watching It Watches, an independent horror/thriller movie which is coming VOD shortly, and I have got to say it has been a while since a movie completely pulled the rug out from under me like this film did! Honestly, I’ve seen enough movies to think I am always one step ahead of the film I’m watching, and for the most part I am, but I have to say this one outsmarted me. Which makes me very Very happy.

To director Dave Parker (The Hills Run Red) I tip my cap. First of all because I am getting tired of the found footage format. It feels like every horror movie these days has got to have that found footage/CCTV feel to it. However this...

Q&A with Under the Bed Costume Designer Ambre Wrigley
Steven C. Miller’s Under the Bed will start its limited theatrical release this Friday and we have a number of special features coming up. The first is an exclusive Q&A with costume designer Ambre Wrigley, thanks to FancyDressCostumes.co.uk. In this feature, Ambre talks about her fear of monsters as a child, taking inspiration from music, and modifying costumes for horror movies.

How did you get involved with Under The Bed?

Ambre Wrigley: I responded to an ad looking for a costume designer. I met with Steven Miller (Director), Will Clevinger (Producer), and Ben Rabbers (Upm). We interviewed for about 15 minutes until they said they’d get back to me and about 20 minutes into my drive home I got a call offering me the gig. I was so excited about it I couldn’t stop grinning for days. I’d just landed my first full feature as a costume designer.

San Diego Comic-Con 2012: Dave Parker Talks Coldwater
People looking for a spooky getaway from the Comic-Con madness would do well to check out Coldwater at the show. Recently we sat down with director Dave Parker to get the skinny on what fans should expect from the film.

So, are you ready for Comic-Con?

Dp: "Yeah it's kind of a mad dash to get some last minute stuff done before then. Little things here and there."

The Hills Run Red was a much gorier slasher film than Coldwater. Did you want to shift away from that on purpose?

Dp: "It was a conscious choice between me and my partner on the film. We wanted to build more tension and suspense. I feel like that aspect of Hills could have been stronger. We're not completely dry of blood and guts though!"

And what are you showing at the Con?

Dp: "We're going to show the trailer that's online now.

For the most part, Hall H is devoted to the properties you've already heard of---the movies and TV shows that will fill up Comic-Con's biggest room. Exclusive: Interview with Writer/Director Dave Parker
by Jason Lees, MoreHorror.com

I’m a big fan of Dave Parker. I have been for a few years now. When I first saw The Dead Hate The Living it connected with me the way you do with fun movies that seem to be made just for you. (Sure, it has its share of haters, but so do I. I was, after all, married for a while there.) I dug it and all its flaws, which to me made it all the more fun.

A few years later I noticed the name kept popping up during the credits on the special features I was watching. Was it the same ‘Dave Parker’? A quick IMDb check showed it to be true and it got me curious. How does someone go from helming his own movie to making Epk’s? I did a little research and had my eyes opened a...

It Watches (2016)
Indie thriller ColdWater just released a creepy new trailer for the haunted house flick. Andre takes over a housesitting job from his friend Robert. The house is enormous and set within Hollywood's secluded Coldwater Canyon neighborhood. Naturally, this isn't your typical housesitting gig, and Andre begins to suspect there is someone - or something - with him in the house. ColdWater doesn't sound like much on paper, but the trailer is creepy and atmospheric. Check it out after the jump. ColdWater stars Ivan Djurovic (51), Rick Irwin (30 Minutes or Less), and Sanny Van Heteren (Hellraiser: Revelations). Djurovic wrote the script with director David Parker (The Hills Run Red).
