Cherrybomb The Highlight Of Belfast Film Festival!
Rupert Grint's film Cherrybomb, which is to have a gala screening today at the Jameson Belfast Film Festival, is given lots of attention in local media. Culture Nothern Ireland has interviewed the Festival director Michelle Devlin and one of the Cherrybomb directors, Glenn Leyburn. Ms Devlin has singled out Cherrybomb as her personal highlight of the festival, and she is as eager to see the film as the rest of you! Also, Mr Leyburn talks about the film and how excited he is to "bring it back home". Of course, he mentions Rupert Grint, and points out that Rupert has done a flawless Belfast accent in this movie. You can download the podcast from our media section here. Also, Cherrybomb actress (and our friend) Kat Kirk was interviewed by Belfast Telegraph, and she briefly talked about the movie: read the interview here.

I was lucky enough not only to attend the screening, but also to meet many people involved with this movie, including the directors Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D'Sa, actors Robert Sheehan, Kimberley Nixon and Kat Kirk, and Cherrybomb stills photographer Helen Sloan. Robert, Kimberley and the directors participated in a questions and answers session after the screening, so I got a chance to ask them a few things we were all dying to know! Today, you can read my Dublin report, as well as my long and quite spoilery movie review. Also, you can see several photos in our gallery; additionally, more photos can be seen at Jdiff official gallery here.

Cherrybomb co-star talks Rupert Grint
One of Rupert Grint's Cherrybomb costars, actress Kat Kirk, spoke recently about working wtih Rupert, her character in the project, and her experience making the feature. She particularly noted how difficult it is to get the Northern Irish accent perfected, which Rupert used throughout the film: ---Quote--- *What’s your opinion on Rupert’s acting in this film? Kat:* Rupert played the part of Malachy well. He’s a very talented guy and really brought Malachy to life. I don’t want to give too much away though! *Did he nail the accent according to you? Kat: *The Northern Irish accent is a tricky one because it can be really difficult to replicate and I imagine this could have caused some alarm.
