J.K. Simmons, Johnny Simmons (no relation), Brittany Snow and Jane Lynch are set to star in Kevin Pollak's comedy "The Late Bloomer" for Eclectic Pictures and Ineffable Pictures. Filming has begun in Los Angeles ahead of a shift to Bulgaria.
Based on Ken Baker's 2001 memoir "Man Made," the story follows the E! news correspondent's experience of going through puberty for the first time at age thirty after having a pituitary tumor removed.
The benign tumor rested against his pituitary gland and delayed his puberty and normal development. Though the tumor's removal restored him to hormonally normal masculinity, it resulted in him having to experience all the effects of puberty over an extremely condensed three-week period.
Johnny Simmons portrays the lead who works as a sex therapist in an office headed by Lynch's character. Snow portrays the girl next door, while J.K. Simmons and Bello play his suffocating parents.

Back in 2012, Elijah Wood was all set to star in indie comedy drama The Late Bloomer for director Randall Einhorn. But, as they are so often wont to do, the film didn’t quite come together. Comedian Kevin Pollack has pulled off the trick, securing J.K. Simmons, Johnny Simmons, Brittany Snow and Jane Lynch to head the cast. They’re part of an ensemble that also includes Maria Bello, Kumail Nanjiani, Beck Bennett, Paul Wesley, Ken Marino, Ileana Douglas, Charlotte McKinney, Vanessa Ragland, Blake Cooper and Leonora Crichlow, in the story adapted from Ken Baker’s 2001 book Man Made: A Memoir Of My Body. It follows what happened when the E! News correspondent had a tumour removed from against his pituitary gland. The condition had been keeping him from properly going through puberty and its removal meant he experienced a sudden onset of changes at the age of 30 in the space of about three weeks.

It would seem that “Saturday Night Live” is having a lukewarm beginning to its new season. Even with the amount of fat-trimming that happened over the summer and the additions of Michael Che and Pete Davidson before the new season began, the show doesn’t seem to be doing as much as had been hyped. The lukewarm beginning seems to going further south with members of The Groundlings saying the show lifted one of their skits. According to Entertainment Weekly, Groundlings comedians Kimberly Condict and Vanessa Ragland have stated on Twitter that “SNL” stole their Tina Turner bit. In their bit, Condict and Ragland–in Turner wigs and short red dresses–perform their [ Read More ]

On this weekend's Saturday Night Live, the show did a sketch about three Tina Turner impersonators who sing on a Nebraska riverboat and break from singing "Proud Mary" to talk about how much they hate singing on a Nebraska riverboat. (Likely because of music rights, the sketch was not put online.) It seemed like a fine enough sketch, inoffensive to anyone but riverboat captains, maybe. That was until accusations of theft started coming from members of the famous improv and sketch-theater troupe the Groundlings, the school at which SNL cast members like Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, and Phil Hartman got their start. It began with performer Kimberly Condict posting a video on Facebook performing a sketch at the theater with Vanessa Ragland, in which they both play Tina Turner impersonators who talk between moments of singing "Proud Mary." Then Groundlings teacher Ian Gary took it further by posting a more...

River boats are apparently a hot spot for Tina Turner impersonators. After Saturday Night Live aired a sketch in which Cecily Strong, Sasheer Zamata, and host Sarah Silverman donned Turner-style wigs and flashy red dresses, two comedians from improv company the Groundlings took to Twitter to point out that the SNL sketch was strikingly similar to one of their own. In SNL version's, the three women perform on a river cruise and interrupt their rendition of "Proud Mary" to tell stories about their struggles. In the Groundlings version, two women—comedians Kimberly Condict and Vanessa Ragland—interrupt their rendition of...

Toy Story 3 Footage Preview
So, I was able to see the first 70 minutes of Toy Story 3 this week.
Watching the movie begin, hearing the reactions of the college students who literally grew up with this franchise, I was worried something wasn’t going to be right. That there was going to be something there on the screen I could no longer identify with a decade after Toy Story 2 debuted in the theaters. I was shocked that it’s been fifteen years since the first installment came out, the number 95 pasted on the runaway train in the opening sequence feeling like a tender callback to that time.
I was worried, fraught with nervousness that somehow I made the wrong choice...
