Horror streaming giant Shudder has once again teamed up with indie horror royalty, the Adams Family, securing the rights to their latest nightmare-fueled creation, Mother of Flies. Set to make its world premiere at the 2025 Fantasia Film Festival on July 24, the film will creep onto the platform in 2026 for viewers in North America, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Known for their hauntingly original storytelling, the Adams Family—comprised of filmmakers Toby Poser, John Adams, and their daughter Zelda Adams—return to the genre spotlight with another eerie tale that promises to dig deep into both the supernatural and the emotional. The film also features a chilling performance by the couple’s eldest daughter, Lulu Adams, continuing the family’s legacy of crafting bold and blood-streaked cinema together.

In Mother of Flies, viewers will follow Mickey, a young woman facing a terminal diagnosis who refuses to accept her fate.

The Walking Dead: Dead City: "AMC Networks announced today that The Walking Dead: Dead City, starring fan-favorites Jeffrey Dean Morgan as “Negan” and Lauren Cohan as “Maggie,” will return for a third season with Seth Hoffman (The Walking Dead, House, Prison Break) joining as showrunner. Hoffman marks his return to the Walking Dead Universe having spent three years as co-executive producer and writer on The Walking Dead, where he wrote iconic episodes such as “Too Far Gone,” “Jss,” and “No Way Out,” among others. Production on The Walking Dead: Dead City season three is set to begin in Boston, Ma this Fall.

“We’re thankful to Eli Jorné for two seasons of Dead City that took the story of these iconic characters in exciting new directions and broadened this thriving Universe by introducing a new corner of the walker apocalypse,” said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks.

Filmmaking trio Toby Poser, John Adams, and Zelda Adams are collectively known as the Adams Family, and their next horror project is a film titled Mother of Flies. Variety reports this afternoon that the film will keep the Adams Family in business with Shudder, as the streamer has picked up the rights to the movie.

Variety details, “Written, directed, and starring Toby Poser, John Adams, and their daughter Zelda Adams, the film also features their older daughter, Lulu Adams, in a co-starring role.”

Shudder will bring Mother of Flies to streaming sometime in 2026.

“Mickey faces a terminal diagnosis, even though she isn’t ready to die yet. Heading into the woods with her father, she seeks dark magic at the hands of mysterious recluse, Solveig. For three days, Mickey endures Solveig’s extreme rituals. But the ‘cure’ comes at a cost.

Shudder has acquired “Mother of Flies,” a new horror feature from the indie filmmaking family known as the Adams Family. Written, directed, and starring Toby Poser, John Adams, and their daughter Zelda Adams, the film also features their older daughter, Lulu Adams, in a co-starring role.

The deal marks a continued collaboration between the directors and Shudder, following the release of their previous films “Hell Hole” and “Hellbender.” The pact encompasses rights for North America, the U.K. and Ireland, as well as Australia and New Zealand. Shudder’s acquisition comes ahead of the film’s world premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival on July 24. A streaming release is slated for 2026.

The Gilded Age is like the Downton Abbey of America. Set in the titular time period, the show tells the story of a bunch of families living in New York’s most expensive neighborhood and competing to be the most poncy family there. While shows such as Bridgerton and even The Buccaneers focus more on young lovers, which we all love, The Gilded Age is more focused on those approaching middle age trying to stay relevant in society. It’s an intriguing game of politics, not just between the men who believe they are doing all the work to keep society afloat, but also the women who have such a key role to play. It’s fascinating, really, but more importantly, the show also focuses on the Black community and how they fought for their place at this time of the “new,” too. With that said, though, let’s jump straight into the recap.

HBO has long been a cornerstone of consistently compelling and well-made programming, whether it's movies, documentaries, TV shows, or, perhaps the best of both worlds, a miniseries. The premium network is well known for their particularly impressive roster of miniseries since its inception in 1972, and they've continued to up the ante with what they've produced even in just the last five years. In fact, it seems like every year there's at least one major miniseries achievement for the channel.

Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium horror streaming service, turns 10 this year and has been celebrating accordingly with a year’s worth of fan events, programming, custom merchandise, and more, dubbed Shudder10.

That included a special Friday the 13th Shudder Anniversary Tattoo Party at Wild Heart Tattoo Parlor in Brooklyn, New York, where friends, family, alum, and Shudder fans descended to commemorate 10 years of horror programming with ink.

Shudder gave the artists at Wild Heart Tattoo Parlor free reign to design flash inspired by the streaming service’s expansive catalog, and they more than delivered. Willing participants could select from eleven sheets of flash inspired by films like Dangerous Animals, Late Night with the Devil, Mandy, Revenge, Tigers Are Not Afraid, The Dark and the Wicked, and In a Violent Nature, or series like “Creepshow,” “The Creep Tapes,” and “The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula,” to name only a few.

The actor portrays the titular politician in director Tom Hooper’s seven-part HBO miniseries John Adams, which chronicles the initial 50 years in American history. Adapting author David McCullough’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, John Adams continued Hooper’s collaboration with HBO that began with the Emmy-winning 2005 miniseries Elizabeth I, starring Helen Mirren.

Apparently the two finally connected after years of missed calls at the end of 2024.

Yellow Veil Pictures has boarded worldwide sales rights on “Mother of Flies.” The indie feature is the latest supernatural horror from the family directing trio of John Adams, Toby Poser and their daughter, Zelda Adams.

The official logline for the film reads, “When a young woman faces a deadly diagnosis, she seeks dark magic from a witch in the woods. But every cure has its cost.”

Poser, John Adams and Zelda Adams direct as well as star alongside Lulu Adams. Poser serves as producer. Yellow Veil Pictures will present the first footage to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival in the coming days.

Look, we get it: The combined actors’ and writers’ strikes threw a significant wrench into the awards-industrial complex. And the right decision was canceling the 2023 Emmys. But the wrong decision was blind adherence to “the show must go on” and staging an Emmys ceremony in early 2024 — five months after the votes had been cast, and setting the stage for two Emmy ceremonies in the same year.

Anthology series “Tales From the Void” debuts this Sunday on Screambox with the first two episodes: “Into the Unknown” and “Fixed Frequency.”

Two episodes will then premiere exclusively on Screambox every Sunday between October 13 and October 27. The episodes will also be available to buy or rent via electronic sell-through platforms the following Tuesday.

“Tales from the Void” features episodes directed by Joe Lynch (Suitable Flesh), John Adams & Toby Poser (Hellbender), Maritte Lee Go (Black As Night), and series creator Francesco Loschiavo. Each episode is accompanied by a post-show interview with the original author, hosted by No Sleep Podcast creator David Cummings.

Helming episodes while showrunning an anthology series was a huge undertaking for Loschiavo, who was committed to doing these stories justice.

With the unique creature feature now slithering on Shudder, Daily Dead had the great pleasure of catching up with co-directors and co-writers John Adams and Toby Poser (who also star in the film) in a new video interview to dive into the ambitious making of Hell Hole, including writing the script with their daughter Lulu Adams, working with legendary special effects artist Todd Masters and his team at MastersFX, the adventures of filming in Serbia, and they also tease their upcoming horror movies!

Awards shows are often only as memorable as the winners and their acceptance speeches.
