The former stars of supernatural teen drama “Teen Wolf,” who were all relatively young when it was at the height of its success, have some advice for young actors who find themselves in a media storm and subject to intense public scrutiny as their shows take off.
Speaking at the 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival Saturday, alongside three other former “Teen Wolf” actors, Holland Roden, who played Lydia in the show, said her advice would be: “Calm down, enjoy it. It’s all good. It’s all going to be good in the future. No matter what happens.

“You put so much pressure on yourself, like: ‘Would ‘Teen Wolf’ lead to another job? How am I going to make a living?’ All these really big, esoteric things. It’s going to all be fine.

During a press conference tied to a reunion of the stars of supernatural teen drama “Teen Wolf” at the 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival Saturday, some of the former cast members took time to reflect on what’s happening in Los Angeles, and America more broadly, at present.
Charlie Carver, who played Ethan on the hit MTV show, said: “I live pretty close to downtown [L.A.], where most of the protests are happening. I think that the media is unfortunately sensationalizing the scale of these events. A frame can isolate anything you want it to. The demonstrations are, for the most part, incredibly peaceful, celebratory.
“And I think L.A. – because of all of the traumas it’s been through, especially in the past six months – like there’s a real sense of community there. I hope that people wake up to the fact that this isn’t only about immigration.

Glee makes it three straight at the Tonys.
When Darren Criss picked up a Tony Award on Sunday night for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a musical for his turn in Maybe Happy Ending, the veteran star became the third straight Glee alum to win a trophy on Broadway’s biggest night. He followed hot on the heels of Jonathan Groff, who won his first Tony last year for Merrily We Roll Along (and he was nominated this year in the same category as Criss for Just in Time), and Alex Newell, who won best featured actor in a musical for Shucked in 2023.

Linda Lavin’s final role on television will be in “Mid-Century Modern” this Friday, so her co-stars and the sitcom creators made sure to honor the late star at their Hulu premiere on Tuesday.
“Linda Lavin was the most joyous, gracious, amazing person that you’d ever want to meet. She worked from the age of 5 to 87 and went out blazing like the star she was,” Nathan Lee Graham told TheWrap. “She truly was a pro at everything. This woman did everything: she could play the piano; she could sing; she could act, comedy, drama equally as well. She was a light. I call her the spiritual showrunner of our show. She’s the glue, she keeps us going. She’s the puppetmaster, she’s doing all of this tonight. So, she’s here.”
The Tony Award winner and Emmy-nominated actress died in December at age 87 from complications of lung cancer before Season 1 had wrapped.

We're at the end of 2024, and you know what that means. It's time to look back at what all happened this year. We'll start off by saying that it's been a rollercoaster of a year for many of the streaming services, especially Netflix. While there were many renewals from the streamer, there were also some cancellations.
This year, the streaming powerhouse pulled the plug on 17 of its original series, and there's even a chance there will be more cancellations since 2024 isn't quite over yet. Obviously, a show getting canceled is never a good thing, and it sucks for the people who were hoping for additional installments. However, there's one Netflix show that got the boot this year that we're not exactly sad about.
In this article, we shared all the Netflix show cancellations from this year as well as discussed why we weren't necessarily hurt by one of the shows being axed.

There are many great shows in this world and many of them get canceled unjustly, and they don’t get to finish the story they were trying to tell what’s even sadder is that sometimes they end on a note that needs some type of resolution and if it’s a Netflix original series there is even a higher chance of that. So, today we are making a list of every Netflix original series that was canceled in 2024.

Bad news has been revealed for fans who have been patiently waiting for nearly four years for the second season of Ratched on Netflix.
Serving as a prequel to the hit film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Ratched starred Sarah Paulson as the titular nurse. The first season debuted on Netflix in September 2020, and it was expected to be followed with Season 2, as the show was initially given a two-season order. With nearly four years having since passed, most fans have likely suspected that Season 2 is no longer happening. In a new video shared to X by an American Horror Story fan account, Paulson is seen confirming that Netflix canceled Season 2, finally making the update official. When asked directly if Season 2 was happening, Paulson bluntly said, "No... no."

“American Horror Story” creator Ryan Murphy and frequent “AHS” star Sarah Paulson reunited back in 2020 for Netflix’s “Ratched,” an 8-episode series telling the origin story of iconic One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest villain Nurse Mildred Ratched. The series invited us to “meet the woman before the monster,” and the original plan was for a two season storyline.
Those plans have changed, however. As reported by Deadline, Sarah Paulson has confirmed this week that there will not be a second season of Netflix’s “Ratched” after all.
Two seasons of “Ratched” had originally been ordered up back in 2017.
Here’s the plot synopsis for the first season, which is streaming on Netflix…
“In 1947, Mildred arrives in Northern California to seek employment at a leading psychiatric hospital where new and unsettling experiments have begun on the human mind. On a clandestine mission, Mildred presents herself as the perfect image...

Paulson confirmed the news in a video posted to a fan account on X (fka Twitter). You can watch it below.

This year’s first-round Primetime Emmy nominations ballot includes a total of 51 Best Limited Series hopefuls. This is down from 2022’s unusually high total of 61, yet still much higher than 2021’s 37, 2020’s 41, and 2019’s 35.
All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their 2023 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for programs. Unlike the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally. After six years of not having to limit their choices in any categories, members’ selections can now not be greater than the number of eventual nominations for a given award, which, in this case, will be five.
Unlike comedy and drama series, which simply appear on the ballot by name, the limited series submissions include plot descriptions and cast lists. Which of the shows listed below do you think will land in the final lineup on...

The Batman included some never-before-seen characters, two of which were the mysterious twins guarding the back door of The Iceberg Lounge. The 2022 movie was set in a much grittier and rundown version of Gotham than ever, but what's interesting about The Batman is that while it's an epic three-hour thriller, it only takes place in and around a few key locations. Though the Riddler is the main villain in the superhero movie, a huge chunk is set in and around the Penguin's dirty, techno club.
The Batman features a realistic version of the Penguin, a.k.a. Oswald Cobblepot, as he's simply a mobster who runs The Iceberg Lounge. But he has some help. American Horror Story is now preparing for its 12th season, so naturally, there’s a lot of speculation about what this season’s theme will be, and American Horror Story: NYC might have secretly teased it. Each season of American Horror Story has covered a different horror theme (and social issue), but with time, they have formed a connected universe, to the point where it’s believed that each season has hidden a clue about the theme of the next. For its 11th season, American Horror Story went for a more real horror theme as it covered the AIDS epidemic during the 1980s in New York City.
Appropriately titled American Horror Story: NYC, this season took a look into the LGBTQ+ community in 1980s NYC, closely following their different struggles and how they were affected by the rapid spread of AIDS. If that wasn’t enough, the main characters were...

American Horror Story: NYC introduced Theo Graves (Isaac Powell), a photographer with psychic abilities who was in a toxic relationship with Sam (Zachary Quinto), an art dealer, but was Theo based on a real-life person? American Horror Story continues to tell a variety of horror stories in different settings and focusing on social issues, and for its eleventh season, titled American Horror Story: NYC, it took the audience to 1980s NYC to take a look into the LGBTQ+ community, its struggles, and how it was affected by AIDS and a serial killer.
As it does on every season, American Horror Story: NYC followed different stories that were ultimately linked, and among those was that of Theo Graves. Adam (Charlie Carver) met Theo while investigating who Big Daddy was, and they ended up getting romantically involved even though Theo was in a toxic relationship with Sam. Of course, as it addressed real-life issues,...

The eleventh season of American Horror Story, titled American Horror Story: NYC, gave viewers a look into the LGBTQ+ community in 1990s New York City, following their social and personal struggles, but the season finale failed one of its recurring characters: Fran (Sandra Bernhard). American Horror Story continues to explore different fears, settings, and social issues each season, and for season 11, it focused on real-life issues, conspiracies, and deadly threats, with New York City as the main setting.
American Horror Story: NYC follows NYPD detective Patrick Read (Russell Tovey), reporter Gino Barelli (Joe Mantello), and Adam Carpenter (Charlie Carver) as they try to discover who’s behind a series of murders of people from the LGBTQ+ community. In typical American Horror Story fashion, NYC had a couple of subplots, such as those of Dr. Hannah Wells (Billie Lourd) and activist Fran. Through the latter, AHS: NYC had some lesbian...

This American Horror Story: NYC review contains spoilers.
American Horror Story Season 11 Episodes 9 and 10
Since probably the third season of American Horror Story, the show has felt less like a gripping exercise in character-driven horror and more like a grand excess. Ryan Murphy gets all his friends and favorites together, they go off and shoot a crazy thing, and Sarah Paulson gets another chance to shriek at Evan Peters. It’s all very stylistic, gory, and campy, but rarely does it attempt to reach out and touch emotionally. That hasn’t been a thing the show has taken any effort to do since Asylum. Then, AHS: NYC comes along and completely shakes up the American Horror Story formula.
In my review of the first two episodes of the season, I wrote that NYC is nothing like previous seasons of American Horror Story. Gone is the epic weirdness fans have come...

Russell Tovey remembers being told early in his acting career that he shouldn’t come out as gay.
“I remember thinking, ‘I’m hearing you. Thank you very much. I appreciate your advice, but I’m going to do this because this feels authentic to me,’” the actor tells me on this week’s episode of the “Just for Variety” podcast. “This feels important to me. It feels important to my life outside of my pretend life of playing all these characters. I have to have the stability to know who I am outside of this.”
Not that he doesn’t wonder what his career may have looked like if he remained in the closet. “I don’t know, but I don’t regret it on any level because my career has taken me somewhere really exciting,” Tovey says. “And I’ve played so many queer guys, queer characters that...

Warning! Spoilers ahead for American Horror Story season 11, episodes 3 & 4!American Horror Story: NYC teases a few big revelations for Hannah, including that she may be a member of the LGBTQ+ community and pregnant with Adam’s baby. While Hannah was previously connected to American Horror Story season 11’s characters due to her scientific research on Fire Island’s deer and rare diseases increasingly occurring in her gay patients, "Smoke Signals" gives Billie Lourd’s character another close link to the serial killer plot. Not only is Hannah also gay, but AHS hints Adam Carpenter (Charlie Carver) could be the father of her baby.

American Horror Story: NYC is taking viewers to the 1980s to follow a series of murders in the LGBTQ+ community and the struggles of this community to be heard and seen, and so far, it has some big similarities with an Al Pacino movie from the 1980s. American Horror Story continues to explore different fears, settings, and social issues each season, and after the mixed reception of its previous season, Double Feature (which was divided into two parts), it’s back with a new season titled NYC.
Set in 1981, American Horror Story: NYC is more rooted in real-life issues and conspiracies as it takes a look into the lifestyle and struggles of the LGBTQ+ community throughout the 1980s in the title city. This season's horror comes from a series of murders targeting the gay community, along with a mysterious virus quickly spreading across the city, especially in the gay community.

“American Horror Story: NYC” premiered October 19 on FX (available the next day on Hulu). As could be expected, the cast is vast and the plot is largely centered on killings in New York City. This cycle written by franchise creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk is heavily rumored to focus on a serial killer roaming the streets of the Big Apple. Joining the fun for the first time are Charlie Carver, Kal Penn, Joe Mantello, Russell Tovey and Gideon Glick. Returning are Sandra Bernhard, Nico Greetham, Rebecca Dayan, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Patti LuPone, Denis O’Hare, Dot-Marie Jones, Isaac Cole Powell, and Zachary Quinto. This American Horror Story: NYC review contains spoilers.
American Horror Story Season 11 Episodes 1 and 2
Season 11 of American Horror Story is going to be the most polarizing collection of episodes to spring forth from the Ryan Murphy/Brad Falchuk creative collective. Given the sheer scope of the show, that’s saying something. However, the first two episodes of AHS NYC, “Something’s Coming” and “Thank You For Your Service” almost feel like Ryan Murphy attempting to marry the more prestige TV elements of something like Murphy’s Netflix smash-hit Dahmer and American Crime Story with the very specific subculture exploration of Pose and the general ambiance of a sleazier, grimier Cruising.
There’s still some of the specific American Horror Story wit in the dialog, but the bulk of the violence is handled off-screen in what is almost a tasteful manner. Very little else leading up to the kills could be considered tasteful,...

"American Horror Story" is set to make its grand return for season 11 on Oct. 19, and we finally have details on it. While FX has yet to release a full-length trailer, much less a synopsis, with any more insight into season 11, TVLine reported that it may explore "several different time periods in New York City's storied history with a specific focus on a group of queer characters."

In January 2020, FX made the bold decision to renew “American Horror Story” for three more installments — Season 11, Season 12 and Season 13. That ensures its flagship horror anthology series, created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, will be on our TV screens through at least the year 2024. Scary good! After the 10th season (otherwise known as “American Horror Story: Double Feature”) was delayed for an entire year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Hollywood productions have now somewhat returned to normalcy, and the next cycle of “AHS” will air in Fall 2022.

FX has dropped the first “AHS: NYC” teaser trailer, offering a look at footage from the 11th season of the horror anthology series, and you are not quite prepared for the amount of leather you’re about to see.

The first two episodes of “American Horror Story” Season 11 will be released on Oct. 19 at 10 p.m. Et/Pt on FX, followed by two new episodes every Wednesday for the next four weeks. “American Horror Story” Season 11 consists of 10 episodes in total, and new episodes will be streaming on Hulu the next day.
While the plot of the new season is still under wraps, the cast includes Joe Mantello, Billie Lourd, Zachary Quinto, Russell Tovey,...

Zachary Quinto won the Critics Choice Award and Gold Derby Award for playing Dr. Oliver Thredson, aka Bloody Face, during “American Horror Story: Asylum” (2012-13). His spooky performance of a 1960s psychiatrist-turned-serial killer also earned him his first Emmy nomination as Best Limited/Movie Supporting Actor, though he lost to his co-star James Cromwell. Nine years later, Zachary Quinto returns at long last to FX’s anthology series in the upcoming 11th season, titled “American Horror Story: New York City.”
As of this writing, little is known about Quinto’s role in “AHS: NYC,” though IMDb lists his character’s name as “Sam.” It’ll actually be his third character on the series, as he first appeared as a guest star during the first season, “American Horror Story: Murder House,” as a gay homeowner named Chad Warwick who was murdered by Rubber Man and became a ghost. Quinto returned in “Asylum” as a series regular,...
