ITV is gearing up to release a new drama called The Hack, and some exclusive images have just surfaced to hype it up even more. The show is about the phone hacking scandal that rocked Rupert Murdoch’s News of the World more than ten years ago, and it’s created by a talented team: writer Jack Thorne, director Lewis Arnold, and producer Patrick Spence. Deadline first shared news of the project earlier this year, and Australia’s Stan is also helping produce the series.

In the new photos, Tennant can be seen in action alongside Robert Carlyle, who plays Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Cook from the Metropolitan Police. Cook’s character is important because he led the investigation into the still-unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan, a story that’s also part of the drama.

Former ICM/CAA talent agent Chris Horsman, most recently manager at Principal Entertainment, is joining Gersh’s talent department. Promoted from coordinator to agent are Jamie Eisman in the talent department and Rachel Erickson in the TV Lit department.

Meanwhile, three talent agents are being let go: Mike Staudt, who had been at Gersh for more than a decade, Casey Larkin and Nathan Howard, along with alternative TV agent Matt Sorger. Their departures follow the exit last month of veteran TV lit agent Lynn Fimberg who had been at Gersh for more than two decades.

Paramount+ has announced that MobLand will return for a second season. The news came just three weeks after the first season finished airing on the streaming service. The show features big names like Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren and is produced by a team including executive producer Guy Ritchie, along with Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth, who also wrote and executive produced the series.

According to internal streaming data shared by Paramount+, the series has been a major success. The first episode alone has been watched 26 million times within the first 70 days in the U.S. and other English-speaking countries.

The show also quickly gained viewers in non-English speaking markets after its later release there. This made MobLand the second most popular original series on Paramount+, just behind Landman. The show has consistently appeared in Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming Originals charts for five weeks straight after the third episode aired.

After soaring to 26 million viewers to date, the Paramount+ original series Mobland, the #2 most-watched original series on the service, has been renewed for season two.

The series, which spent five consecutive weeks in Nielsen’s most recent ranking of Top 10 SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) Original Series, is executive produced by Guy Ritchie and marks his first TV series for Paramount+.

Mobland was created and written by Ronan Bennett, executive produced by David C. Glasser (101 Studios), and written by Jez Butterworth. The series also marks Butterworth’s second hit TV series following The Agency: Central Intelligence, which is also on Paramount+.

The decision to push Brosnan as a co-lead — rather than a supporting contender as many had assumed — is one of several surprising moves in the streamer’s Emmy strategy.

Tom Hardy recently opened up about reuniting with Guy Ritchie after nearly two decades. The pair are currently working together on the Paramount+ series MobLand.

"I didn't realize it was 17 years," Hardy told The Hollywood Reporter when asked how he and the acclaimed director, who also serves as an executive producer on Mobland, reconnected after so much time. "That's quite a long time, isn't it? Well, I just called him on the phone, and it didn't feel like that much time had passed, and he was already interwoven into the project. So we had a catch-up and pretty shortly afterward, we were on set working. So it was pretty straightforward."

It was only in February 2025 that we learned the actual title (and ultimate streaming location) of MobLand, which had been previously referred to as The Associate when it was announced in October 2024 that Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan were in final talks for creator Ronan Bennett's series, with Guy Ritchie as an EP and director. Suddenly, the show was about to premiere on March 30 on Paramount+. How fast was this train moving? It was only announced on March 17 that Janet McTeer had joined the cast. Well, it turns out that production on MobLand actually wrapped on March 26, just four days before its premiere. Apparently, scripts were being written as the show was being filmed.
