David Tennant’s Stunning Transformation Revealed in First Look at ITV Thriller
Image
ITV is gearing up to release a new drama called The Hack, and some exclusive images have just surfaced to hype it up even more. The show is about the phone hacking scandal that rocked Rupert Murdoch’s News of the World more than ten years ago, and it’s created by a talented team: writer Jack Thorne, director Lewis Arnold, and producer Patrick Spence. Deadline first shared news of the project earlier this year, and Australia’s Stan is also helping produce the series.

David Tennant takes the lead as investigative reporter Nick Davies, the journalist who exposed the phone hacking scandal.

In the new photos, Tennant can be seen in action alongside Robert Carlyle, who plays Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Cook from the Metropolitan Police. Cook’s character is important because he led the investigation into the still-unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan, a story that’s also part of the drama.

The pictures shared by Deadline show Tennant fully immersed in his role, alongside Robert Carlyle, who plays Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Cook. Cook was in charge of looking into the unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan, a key part of the story told in The Hack.

Guy Ritchie & Tom Hardy's Criminally Underrated Gangster Show Is Blowing Up on the Global Streaming Charts
Image
Guy Ritchie and Tom Hardy are both highly popular names in the film industry. As it turns out, putting them together leads to an even more attractive project.

The duo worked together in 2008 for the crime comedy film RocknRolla, and reunited in 2025 for the Paramount+ crime series MobLand. Since its premiere, the series has become one of the best crime dramas on air, and has been constantly in the charts since its Mar. 30 premiere until its June 1 finale. However, even a month after its Season 1 finale, MobLand continues to top the charts, per FlixPatrol.

MobLand has beaten Dexter: Resurrection to the top of the charts on July 12, securely holding on to the No. 1 spot worldwide. The new Dexter sequel series, which aired on MGM+ and Showtime, had no grip and settled for second place, even though it just came out on July 11. MobLand, however, has been around for a while,...

'Yellowstone' Defeats Both 'Blue Bloods' and Sylvester Stallone's 'Tulsa King' on the Global Streaming Stage
Image
Paramount+ is the home of many exciting shows. In 2025 alone, several of the world's biggest titles have been released to the streamer, making a subscription a must for millions. With such high-profile shows comes the ever-evolving battle for streaming supremacy. As of July 8, 2025, said battle has swung slightly the way of Taylor Sheridan's franchise-spawning series, Yellowstone, which still proves one of the most popular shows in the world despite ending its last season over six months ago.

Per FlixPatrol, the third most-streamed show on Paramount+ globally at the time of writing, Yellowstonehas taken back hold of its podium position from two major competitors. Currently in fourth is Blue Bloods, the Tom Selleck-led procedural that was controversially given the axe back in December 2024. However, the series is still proving popular thanks to the pending arrival of spin-off series Boston Blue, which is set to star Donnie Wahlberg. In fifth,...

Gersh Hires Principal’s Chris Horsman & Promotes Duo; Mike Staudt Among 4 Agents Leaving
Image
Exclusive Updated : Gersh is making staffing changes, adding three to its agent ranks while parting ways with three current agents.

Former ICM/CAA talent agent Chris Horsman, most recently manager at Principal Entertainment, is joining Gersh’s talent department. Promoted from coordinator to agent are Jamie Eisman in the talent department and Rachel Erickson in the TV Lit department.

Meanwhile, three talent agents are being let go: Mike Staudt, who had been at Gersh for more than a decade, Casey Larkin and Nathan Howard, along with alternative TV agent Matt Sorger. Their departures follow the exit last month of veteran TV lit agent Lynn Fimberg who had been at Gersh for more than two decades.

Staff turnover is not unusual for talent agencies, with the Gersh exits alongside the hires underscoring agencies’ current disciplined approach to headcount and costs amid an industry contraction and reduced volume of original series post-Peak TV.

Ronan Bennett created MobLand, which was originally developed as an offshoot of Showtime's hit crime drama series Ray Donovan before being reconceived as a standalone project.

MobLand follows the Harrigans and Stevensons, two warring London crime families, who "clash in a kill-or-be-killed battle that threatens to topple empires and ruin lives. Caught in the crossfire is Harry Da Souza, the street-smart ‘fixer’ as dangerous as he is handsome,...

Books and TV shows have had a special relationship for over a century now. There have been countless TV adaptations of popular books, and even if we count this year (which isn’t over), there have been over seven or eight. While there have been many brilliant books that were adapted through the years, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the TV shows are also good, and that’s why we decided to compile a list of the absolute best TV shows that were based on books. As a side note, we also decided not to include Game of Thrones and Dexter, mainly because of how they ended.

MobLand Star Pierce Brosnan Calls Season One Finale a Cinematic Homage To Beloved 1968 Heist Film
Image
The following contains spoilers for the season finale of MobLand, "The Beast in Me."

MobLandstar Pierce Brosnan discusses the "cinematic homage" in the series' first season finale.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Brosnan opened up about the finale scene of the recently released MobLand Season 1 finale, which sees a legion of prisoners all cheering on his Conrad Harrigan. "It’s a great homage to Conrad, but it’s also a cinematic homage to The Italian Job, which is a film Michael Caine made and Noël Coward played the kingpin," Brosnan explained. "In the film, you’ll see Noël Coward come down to the gantry in the prison being applauded by the prisoners. We shot it in Reading Gaol, the last torturous, humiliating place where Oscar Wilde was a prisoner for two years in hard labor."

"It’s a powerful Victorian tomblike presence," Brosnan continued. "So, it was quite memorable to...

[Warning: The following post contains Major spoilers for MobLand‘s finale, “The Beast in Me.”] Well, the battle has been won, but the war has just begun. Sunday’s (June 1) season finale of MobLand picks up right where the penultimate episode left off: with Kevin Harrigan (Paddy Considine) lingering in the kitchen of the former prison guard whom he shot point-blank as vengeance for the sexual assault he inflicted upon him in prison. This lifeless, silent corpse gives Kevin an opportunity to vent about his biggest resentments, including the fact that Eddie (Anson Boon) is the son of his wife Bella (Lara Pulver) and his father Conrad (Pierce Brosnan), not him. He also laments the fact that his mother Maeve (Helen Mirren) has turned Eddie into a monster but vows to become an even bigger monster himself, saying, “In this world, my world, only the biggest monster survives.” The actor playing Eddie doesn’t necessarily think he’s a monster,...

‘MobLand’ Emmys Shakeup: Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan Both Submitted for Lead Drama Actor, Helen Mirren Goes for Supporting (Exclusive)
Image
Paramount+ is going all-in on its critically acclaimed British crime drama “MobLand.”

Revealed to Variety exclusively, the company is launching an ambitious Emmy campaign that surprisingly places both Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan in the running for lead drama actor. The decision to push Brosnan as a co-lead — rather than a supporting contender as many had assumed — is one of several surprising moves in the streamer’s Emmy strategy.

Helen Mirren, meanwhile, will compete for supporting drama actress, avoiding a head-to-head clash with her own work in “1923,” Taylor Sheridan’s Western drama, where she is considered a possible contender for lead drama actress.

Created by Ronan Bennett, “MobLand” centers on Harry Da Souza (Hardy), a fixer for the powerful London-based Harrigan crime family, led by Conrad (Brosnan) and Maeve Harrigan (Mirren). As rival gangs threaten the family’s empire, Harry is tasked with maintaining control and preventing a full-scale war.

MobLand's New Twist Makes a Mess Out of Its Family Tree According to Prevailing Theory
Image
MobLand delivered another twist that could change what fans know about the Harrigan family. The Tom Hardy-led Paramount+ crime series focuses on the complex family drama of the Harrigans as they try to navigate an all-out gang war against the Stevensons in modern-day London.

As one of the powerful crime families, some would think that the Harrigans are a solid unit, but MobLand Season 1 has slowly shown the cracks within its inner circle that could prove its downfall, such as Maeve's (Helen Mirren) blatant manipulation of her husband Conrad (Pierce Brosnan), the growing tension between Harry da Souza (Tom Hardy) and Bella Harrigan (Lara Pulver), and Eddie's reckless actions that led to an all-out gang war.

MobLand Episode 8 revealed another unexpected bombshell after Maeve told Kevin (Paddy Considine) about her "other brother," igniting speculation that this missing Harrigan may have been hiding in plain sight.

MobLand season 1 episode 7 recap and review: 'The Crossroads'
Image
MobLand season 1 episode 7, "Crossroads," might be my favorite of the season thus far, as it finally brings us into the heart of this crime family war. Spoilers below.

While episode 6 kept us glued to the screen for its revelatory insight in the wake of Vron’s (Annie Cooper) death, this week’s episode brings some heated action that is heart-pounding, nerve-wracking, and full of absolute carnage. Brendan (Daniel Betts) only thought he saw carnage as he and Seraphina (Mandeep Dhillon) were being kidnapped, but he has no idea what awaits him.

Episode 7 on Paramount+ has a lot going on, but our main focus is, of course, on Brendan and Seraphina, as well as Harry’s (Tom Hardy) efforts to find and save them, which also yields total f-ing carnage. Before we recap that, let’s set the stage.

Bella (Lara Pulver) defies Harry’s request to put her business with...

Tom Hardy’s 76% Rotten Tomatoes Crime Series Sends Taylor Sheridan Packing on Paramount+
Image
Only four episodes remain in the first season of MobLand, but Tom Hardy’s new crime thriller series just added another accomplishment to its belt. Earlier this week, Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel series, 1923, returned to Paramount+ streaming charts more than a month after its Season 2 finale. Hardy’s MobLand, which also stars Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren, has since claimed its spot in Paramount+’s top 10, now leaving 1923 to fade into the void after concluding its final season. MobLand was written and created for television by Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth, with Guy Ritchie serving as the primary director of the series. The show has earned average scores of 76% from critics and 77% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it also stars Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, and Anson Boon.

While MobLand has certainly been a hit for Paramount+ thus far, Hardy has a new movie streaming on Netflix that...

It’s been days since I watched MobLand episode 5, “Maeve Strikes,” and I’m still reeling with surprise and excitement over its boldly impressive ending. In this episode 5 recap, we see a Harrigan war council, Brendan (Daniel Betts) and Seraphina (Mandeep Dhillon) join forces, and the Harrigans attend funeral services for Tommy (Felix Edwards). While Richie (George Bell) and Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) come to an agreement, Maeve strikes out and shows us what happens when you disrespect the White Queen. Let's take a look at what happens in the Paramount+ series' latest episode.

The end is nigh for Blood of Zeus, and bloody it will be. Netflix has released the official trailer for the third and final season of Charley and Vlas Parlapanides's Greek mythology adult animated series that teases tragedy, destruction, and ultimately judgement as the Titans return to take control of the world back from Olympus. 'It Didn't Feel Like That Much Time:' Tom Hardy Reveals How He Reconnected With MobLand Director Guy Ritchie After Almost Two Decades
Image
Tom Hardy recently opened up about reuniting with Guy Ritchie after nearly two decades. The pair are currently working together on the Paramount+ series MobLand.

"I didn't realize it was 17 years," Hardy told The Hollywood Reporter when asked how he and the acclaimed director, who also serves as an executive producer on Mobland, reconnected after so much time. "That's quite a long time, isn't it? Well, I just called him on the phone, and it didn't feel like that much time had passed, and he was already interwoven into the project. So we had a catch-up and pretty shortly afterward, we were on set working. So it was pretty straightforward."

Ritchie and Hardy previously worked together on 2008's RocknRolla, which featured an ensemble cast all caught up in the middle of a convoluted criminal plot. The film starred Hardy as Handsom Bob alongside Gerard Butler's One-Two, Tom Wilkinson's Lenny Cole,...

MobLand season 1 episode 3 recap and review: The back-up plan
Image
This post contains spoilers from MobLand season 1 episode 3, “Plan B.”

Now that Tommy (Felix Edwards) has been found, the real challenge begins for our fixer: preventing a bloody war. Harry (Tom Hardy) promised Richie (Geoff Bell) that he’d find his son, and he did… just not in one piece. Richie makes a brazen move in the opening of episode 3 and sends the Harrigans a message that he’s done waiting and is coming for them.

Additionally, Harry continues to juggle problems that need fixing, like his crumbling marriage, his housekeeper’s mother’s financial issues, and something secretive with Kevin’s (Paddy Considine) wife Bella (Lara Pulver), who has gone to great lengths to set her father up and record him bribing a foreign official, only to find herself the subject of extortion by a French spy.

What the purpose and endgame are here we do not yet know.

There is officially only one month left until Blood of Zeus returns for its final chapter. Collider can exclusively reveal that Season 3 of the animated Greek mythology series created by brothers Charley and Vlas Parlapanides has been set for a May 8 release, landing it almost exactly one year apart from the debut of Season 2. The return of the smash hit will bring about the end of Heron and Seraphim's story, as the half-brothers look to fulfill their roles as prophesied saviors of the world. A greater threat than ever looms, however, with the return of the Titans and of Typhon, the monstrous creature Olympus nearly fell too in the distant past.

Season 3 figures to resume directly in the aftermath of the shocking Season 2 finale that left the demi-god Heron dead. Amid the battle of the gods for the power of the Eleusinian Stone, the titular son of Zeus claimed...

'MobLand' Stars Reveal the "Difficult" & "Super Fast" Production
Image
It was only in February 2025 that we learned the actual title (and ultimate streaming location) of MobLand, which had been previously referred to as The Associate when it was announced in October 2024 that Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan were in final talks for creator Ronan Bennett's series, with Guy Ritchie as an EP and director. Suddenly, the show was about to premiere on March 30 on Paramount+. How fast was this train moving? It was only announced on March 17 that Janet McTeer had joined the cast. Well, it turns out that production on MobLand actually wrapped on March 26, just four days before its premiere. Apparently, scripts were being written as the show was being filmed. When MovieWeb spoke with the cast, they were just catching their breaths. For some actors, this helped their work.

"There's an effervescence that comes from working on material that's coming immediately off the press,...
