Prime Video has announced the lineup of movies and TV shows that will be available on the service in November. The Prime Video December 2024 lineup includes new Amazon original movies, TV shows, and specials.

Members can look forward to Angry Birds Mystery Island Part 3, Beast Games, Culpa Tuya (“Your Fault”), Jack in Time for Christmas, Pop Culture Jeopardy!, Secret Level, The Sticky, Thursday Night Football, and more.

Angry Birds Mystery Island Part 3 (2024 – Streaming December 3)

Based on Rovio’s popular game Angry Birds, Angry Birds Mystery Island introduces three new Hatchling characters—” Mia,” “Rosie,” and “Buddy”—and a foreign-exchange piglet named “Hamylton” who are mistakenly catapulted onto an uncharted island.

The ragtag bunch quickly learns that, in order to survive and make it back home, they will need to unlock the mysteries of the island together.

Actor Tony Todd, renowned for his iconic role in the Candyman horror films, has passed away at the age of 69.

Over his 40-year career, Todd portrayed the ghostly character of Candyman in the horror series. Candyman, known for having a hook for a hand, could be summoned by saying his name five times in front of a mirror. Todd originated the role in the first film released in 1992 and continued to play Candyman in sequels released in 1995 and 1999. He reprised his role in 2021 for a fourth film that serves as a direct sequel to the original.

Todd took on the iconic role of Daniel Robitaille, better known as Candyman—a tragic figure shrouded in mystery and pain. As a tortured ghost adorned with swarming bees, Candyman embodies the legacy of an African American artist and son of a slave, whose life was brutally cut short because of his forbidden love for a white woman.

Jack Whitehall, Jennifer Saunders, and Sally Phillips have joined the ensemble cast of the adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s ‘Night & Day.’

The trio will join the previously announced Haley Bennett who will play the lead, with BAFTA-winner Timothy Spall, British singer Lily Allen and German superstar Elyas M’Barek.

Set in an era when glass ceilings were made of concrete, Bennett will play Katharine Hilbery — one woman who insisted on reaching for the stars. Based on what has been called Woolf’s funniest novel, Night and Day is described as an “unromantic comedy” about a passionate astronomer who does everything she can to avoid romantic love and marriage. Contemporary in tone, the story of Katharine’s bold challenge to the Edwardian patriarchy is set against the backdrop of the suffragette movement and advances in science and technology, at the turn of the 20th century.

Prime Video’s ad-supported reach in the UK is 19 million viewers, Amazon has revealed for the first time.

At a UK Upfront event in London this evening attended by the likes of Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Idris Elba, the company talked up its streaming biz, saying its customer base is equivalent to more than a third of British adults.

In a bid to persuade advertisers their pounds and dollars are being well spent, Amazon said 52% of UK Prime Video viewers did not watch any paid-for TV, and that among these 36% spent more in the Amazon.co.uk store than the average spend of Amazon customers.

Fantasy is the genre that we all love most as kids and then after growing up with it we kind of love immersing ourselves into a magical world filled with dragons and bands of heroes. Merlin

Merlin is a British fantasy adventure series created by Julian Jones, Jake Michie, Johnny Capps, and Julian Murphy. Loosely based on the Arthurian Legends, the BBC One series follows the story of a young Merlin as he heads to Camelot to live with the court physician Gaius. Merlin has to hide the fact that he is a warlock because King Uther Pendragon outlawed magic in the Kingdom twenty years ago.

Netflix released over a dozen stand-up specials in the second half of last year and Matt Rife was the most-watched.

Matt Rife: Natural Selection, which was released in November, was watched for 13.5M hours. This was above specials from the likes of Shane Gillis, Tom Segura and Mike Birbiglia as well as Ricky Gervais, Trevor Noah and Dave Chappelle (although the latter three launched theirs very late in December).

On the back of that special, Rife has been signed up for two further specials and is now developing a sitcom at the streamer.

Netflix has dominated the stand-up scene for some time now and recently launched the second iteration of its Netflix Is A Joke festival, where it had many of the biggest names in comedy across LA for two weeks.

The streamer is starting to find itself with some competition after Hulu announced it was going to compete with the rival streamer for specials.

The agency has hired Saraphina Monaco as an agent in its television talent department. She’ll be based at CAA’s Century City office and will focus on identifying and creating acting opportunities for the agency’s comedy touring clients — which includes several A-list comedians — in film and television.

Monaco joins CAA from A3 Artists Agency, where she spent five years as a talent agent in its theatrical division. The agency ceased operations in February. Prior to that, Monaco worked at Buchwald, in both its New York and Los Angeles offices, and Prestige Talent Agency. She began her career as an assistant at Aquila/Wood Casting and also has experience at a few boutique agencies.

Exclusive: An actress who featured in the final season of The Crown and a series regular in Jack Whitehall’s Bad Education have said they are owed thousands in unpaid fees by scandal-hit agency Bodhi Talent.

Thea Beyleveld and Jack Bence were both loyal Bodhi clients but said they discovered that the agency had withheld money from them following the publication of a Deadline exposé on the company. Beyleveld also alleged that Bodhi “skimmed” money from her paycheck.

Beyleveld and Bence are among around eight Bodhi clients in contact with acting union Equity as they attempt to secure their money. Equity believes the cases are actionable and the union will go through civil courts to fight for cash. It is unlawful for UK agents to pay actors later than 10 days.

Bodhi founder Archie Purnell has not responded to requests for comment. He has previously denied paying actors late, telling Deadline...

Shailene Woodley and Jack Whitehall have joined the cast of the animated feature “Girl in the Clouds,” directed by Philippe Riche (“Rabbids Invasion”).

Colman Domingo has been set to play the patriarch of the Jackson family, Joe Jackson, in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, ‘Michael.’

Having recently received his first Oscar nomination for Best Actor for his role as Bayard Rustin in ‘Rustin’ Domingo’s casting comes shortly after it was announced that Michael Jackson’s nephew and son of Jermaine Jackson, Jaafar, will take on the role of Michael during his early years as a child star.

‘Emancipation’ filmmaker, Antoine Fuqua will direct the movie. ‘Skyfall,’ ‘The Aviator’ and ‘Gladiator’ scribe John Logan will write the story, which promises a “never-before-told and in-depth portrayal of the complicated man who became the King of Pop.”

A detailed plot description are being kept top secret for the time being. Still, sources say the series will follow a young man (Whitehall) who seeks to infiltrate the world of a wealthy family, with Duchovny and van Houten playing the heads of that family.

Paramount is to combine its AVoD platform Pluto TV with BVoD My5 in the UK. In a move that could be the precursor to the breaking down of barriers between AVoD and BVoD, the new streamer will launch in the market in the second half of next year, with more details coming in the next few months. Apple TV+ has canceled The Afterparty after two seasons, Deadline reports.

The decision comes weeks after the conclusion of The Afterparty Season 2.

Thankfully, each season of the series is designed to be self-contained, meaning fans were not left hanging over a cliff about what would have happened next.

Resolution is necessary for a show of The Afterparty's caliber, which begins its seasons with a murder before having Tiffany Haddish's Detective Danner investigating the pool of suspects.

The investigation is infused with humor, red herrings, and everything you'd expect from a series that doesn't want to tell you the killer's identity until the season finale.

It's unclear how well the show performed on Apple TV+ because the streaming service keeps those viewership statistics under lock and key.
