On Saturday night, over 600 power players from the worlds of entertainment, art and philanthropy thronged The Geffen Contemporary for the 2025 Moca Gala, raising $3.1 million for LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art.

The swirl of notable guests and presenters included House Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi, Mayor Karen Bass, Ava DuVernay, Jane Fonda, Sarah Paulson, Candy Spelling, Lisa Edelstein, David Alan Grier, Barbara Kruger, Catherine Opie, Tim Disney, Julie Wainwright, Edythe Broad, Jeffery Dietch, Michael Govan and Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot.

The gala, co-sponsored by Bvlgari (which showcased covetable jewels during cocktail hour), honored inaugural Moca Legends Theaster Gates, Frank Gehry and Wendy Schmidt. Johanna Burton, director of Moca, said the new awards are a way to recognize people “who have helped write the stories of Moca past, present, and future.”

“It’s a frame that will allow people to celebrate the institution,” Burton said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter before the event.

The photos were taken days after LAPD Swat reportedly evacuated Spelling due to her neighbor locking himself inside his home with an Ar-15. The neighbor was later arrested.

Movers were caught taking Spelling’s belongings to a storage unit in Calabasas, near the old home that she shared with her estranged husband Dean McDermott.

It is uncertain whether the spontaneous relocation was a result of the neighborhood scare or if Spelling has been planning to move her family to another home.

Spelling has had a lot of drama around her living situation this year.

Over the summer, her home was found to be infested with mold, so she moved to a motel. After that, the family lived in an Rv.

The former “Beverly Hills, 90210” star took to Instagram on Thursday and shared a carousel of photos documenting how she and her children — Liam, 16, Stella, 15, Hattie, 11, Finn, 10, and Beau, 6, whom she shares with ex, Dean McDermott — are spending time together while, for now, calling an Rv home.

Production has begun on Freeform’s upcoming holiday gift-wrapping competition series Wrap Battle. Comedian Sheryl Underwood (The Talk) is set as host, along with Carson Kressley (RuPaul’s Drag Race) and Soolip founder Wanda Wen as judges. Celebrity guest judges include Tony Award-winning Broadway producer Candy Spelling, Sandra Lee, Sherry Cola (Good Trouble), Diggy Simmons (grown-ish), Lala Kent (Vanderpump Rules) and designer Sabrina Soto.

The six-episode series will follow nine contestants as they battle to become the ultimate wrapper and take home a $50,000 grand prize.

Wrap Battle is produced by Michael Levitt Productions. Michael Levitt, Jill Goularte and Colleen Sands serve as Executive Producers.

The stage production of Baz Luhrmann’s “Moulin Rouge!” that opened in Boston this summer is heading to Broadway.

Producer Carmen Pavlovic announced Monday that the musical will open on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, with previews beginning June 28, 2019 prior to a July 25 opening night.

The cast from the show at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre will transfer to Broadway, including Karen Olivo, Aaron Tveit, Danny Burstein, Sahr Ngaujah, Tam Mutu, Ricky Rojas and Robyn Hurder.
