Samia Muriel Chancrin
Out of nowhere, Katja's life falls apart when her husband Nuri and little son Rocco are killed in a bomb attack. Her friends and family try to give her the support she needs, and Katja somehow manages to make it through the funeral. But the mind numbing search for the perpetrators and reasons behind the senseless killing complicate Katja's painful mourning, opening wounds and doubts. Danilo, a lawyer and Nuri's best friend, represents Katja in the eventual trial against the two suspects: a young couple from the neo-Nazi scene. The trial pushes Katja to the edge, but there's simply no alternative for her: she wants justice.

She grew up in Munich before pursuing formal training in the performing arts at Mozarteum University Salzburg, where she completed her diploma in 2008. Early in her career, Chancrin developed her skills through theatre performances in Esslingen, Stuttgart, and Berlin.

Chancrin first gained industry attention in 2007 with a Best Actress nomination at the Munich Film Festival's Förderpreis Deutscher Film. This recognition helped her transition into film and television, leading to appearances in German TV movies and series such as Spreewaldkrimi and Kommissarin Heller. She also took on supporting roles in feature films like Lose Your Head (2013) and Der Hauptmann (2017), directed by Robert Schwentke.

In 2017, Chancrin appeared in Fatih Akin's crime drama In the Fade, playing the character Birgit in a film nominated for the 31st European Film Awards' People's Choice Award for Best European Film. That same year, she portrayed Anni in The Captain, further establishing her reputation in German-language cinema.

Alongside acting, Chancrin has directed original theatre productions since 2011, working with venues including Württembergische Landesbühne Esslingen, Neue Bühne Senftenberg, and Monbijou Theatre in Berlin. Her commitment to directing highlights her dedication to fostering new theatrical voices.

Within the entertainment industry, Chancrin has had a steady influence in German cinema and television.
