Spoiler Alert !!!This article contains spoilers from Sakamoto Days manga.
When Sakamoto Days anime proved to be a letdown in terms of animation, fans still had the lively panels of the manga to go back to. Seemingly, we don’t even have that luxury anymore. The story was the perfect mix of great fights and light-hearted interactions initially. The characters are also interesting, and some of them are too cool for their own good.
Around maybe 30 chapters ago, Uzuki would have been a cool character as well. The progression of his character arc, however, hasn’t been the best. Every major reveal about him has affected the story’s quality. He suddenly grew overpowered, which is something that’s sabotaging the main appeal of the manga.

The world of anime has long been dominated by visually appealing shows, with titles such as Demon Slayer setting high standards for animation quality. Fans usually assess anime based on its animation qualities, sometimes missing other important aspects like the story, character development, and pacing.
However, Sakamoto Days, Netflix’s most recent anime hit, demonstrates that an anime doesn’t need top-tier, movie-level animation to achieve global success.

This extends to its refreshing and riveting storyline which is a spin on the hitman trope. But most of all, Suzuki did the unthinkable when it comes to overused tropes in the shonen genre.

Sakamoto Days, the upcoming anime adaptation of the popular Shonen Jump series, has now received a release window courtesy of Netflix. The new series will also go against the grain by dropping a long-time hated release strategy by the mainstream streaming service.
The official Netflix YouTube account released its own trailer for its upcoming animated adaptation of Sakamoto Days, based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki. In the trailer, Tarou Sakamotos old life as one of the greatest assassins in the world clashes with his new everyday life as a family man running an ordinary convenience store. Although Sakamotos current appearance as a married man nearing his 30s is far from his younger days as an intimidating hitman, he still possesses those deadly skills that put him at the top.

Yuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days is one manga fans have been following for a long time now. There are many different shonen works that take on the slice-of-life tropes on the side. Spy x Family, The Way of the Househusband, and many other anime and manga follow such patterns to add a mix of different genres in an otherwise already explored trope.
Sakamoto Days
Sakamoto Days does the same. It takes a retired hitman wanting to live a normal life and pulls him back into a world filled with action. Needless to say, there were many fans following the manga and more who were awaiting a possible anime adaptation. By the looks of it, the wait may not be for long. However, that is not to say that everything might be going smoothly.

A new rumor making rounds on social media suggested that Yuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days is getting an anime adaptation, with Netflix reportedly acquiring the rights for it.
While there’s no official announcement, the May issue of License Global claimed that Sakamoto Days is officially listed for a 2024 release on Netflix.
It is to be noted that there has been no official confirmation or announcement on the anime yet.
Sources indicate that Netflix’s involvement is limited to international broadcast rights, meaning the streaming service is not part of the production process.

This speculation is fueled by past patterns observed with other Jump titles like Mashle and Undead Unluck, where leaks preceded official announcements by approximately two weeks.

Warning: The following contains spoilers for Sakamoto Days chapter #163 & #164

Manga covers provide a beautiful, colorful contrast to the black and white pages inside, adding depth and visual flair. Death Note's final cover captures the essence of the series, showcasing the protagonist's ego and God complex. One Piece's 60th volume cover depicts the emotional aftermath of a devastating arc, highlighting the weight of the protagonist's loss.
One of the most exciting parts about reading manga is the new art that welcomes a new volume. These full color covers are a breath of fresh air that constrasts with the standard black and white panelling in the volume, and offers gorgeous visual flair that adds depth to whatever is being featured in the volume.
A new manga volume, or tankoban in Japan, usually has between 14-16 chapters for a weekly series, and about 5 chapters for series that release new chapters monthly, and it is a tradition to include art at...

While shonen as a demographic typically targets teen boys, works that fall under this category typically employ universal themes and appeals that every manga reader can enjoy. Regardless of age or gender, no manga reader can disregard a well-written shonen manga.
In no small part due to the popularity of Shonen Jump magazine, shonen works tend to be some of the most well-known ones in the anime and manga industries. Yet, while a few end up gaining high levels of popularity akin to the Big Three, many more never achieve the same amount of success, in spite of their spectacular quality.
Dai Dark
Created by Q Hayashida, known for the dark fantasy seinen series Dorohedoro, Dai Dark is a surprising story that seamlessly blends gore and horror with surreal comedy elements, set in a unique Sci-Fi world. The story follows protagonist Zaha Sanko, a boy whose life is defined by...

Warning! Contains spoilers for Sakamoto Days Chapter 111!
Fans waiting for the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen to air this summer need to check out another Shonen Jump manga that shares many of the series' biggest strengths. That manga is Sakamoto Days by Yuto Suzuki, which follows a retired hitman named Sakamoto who is forced back into the criminal underworld when his family is threatened. The series has always been a great read for Jujutsu Kaisen fans, but its recent arc is especially great for them given its similarities to the first arc of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2.
Chapters 106 to 111 of Sakamoto Days, translated by Camellia Nieh have all focused on a flashback into Sakamoto's past as a young assassin. Sakamoto and his friends Nagumo and Akao are all incredibly impressive fighters who along with a student who would eventually become the villainous Slur, are tasked with protecting an important assassin's family...
