Mahyar was born in an artistic family, where his first exposure to the art of filmmaking was by his cinematographer father. This exposure led Mahyar to a life-long journey and passion for directing.
Mahyar's life was forever changed when his father gave him his old super 8mm camera. He liked hearing the sound of the empty film roll spinning in the camera. The feeling that he had looking through the old grainy viewfinder was almost indescribable.
The knowledge and expertise his father provided him growing up has made him critique everything through a visually trained eyes. These toned skills have allowed him to direct and shoot numerous projects that have been nominated at film festivals.
