The first feature film by the duo composed of Lorenzo Valmontone and Thomas Szczepanski pays tribute to humanity in an exploration of exile. Despite the decidedly challenging situation caused by Covid-19, directors Lorenzo Valmontone and Thomas Szczepanski have successfully wrapped filming on their first, touching feature, the two-man project Aya. Currently in search of funding to help finalise post-production, as well as a distributor, Aya promises to be a powerful work which will open our eyes onto a world woefully relegated to the margins, where humanity is a byword for poetry and solidarity. Lorenzo Valmontone gained notoriety among international audiences thanks to his moving documentary Jumping the Shadows, directed in league with Steven Blatten and selected for the 2015 Visions du Réel Festival before moving on to Solothurn (2016). Thomas Szczepanski's survival horror film The Hunt is now available on DVD and VOD in the Us and Canada courtesy of Philadelphia-based distributor Music Video Distribution, and we have all the details you need right here!

From the Press Release:

Following in the footsteps of recent extreme French horror movies like High Tension, Frontiers, Inside, and Martyrs, The Hunt follows an undercover reporter commissioned to write a story about a series of gruesome murders. His investigation leads him to a secret society of wealthy businessman who hunt humans for money. Caught in a spiral of violence, he is forced to participate in the game until he discovers that he has become the hunted.

The film stars Zuriel De Peslouan, Jellali Mouina, and Sarah Lucide.

Tabloid Reporters are Chased in Horror Feature The Hunt
Very little information is available on Thomas Szczepanski's (Obsessione) feature The Hunt. However, the film's trailer is intriguing as characters attempt to outrun death via crossbow bolt. The film will likely be delivered in the French language and while this trailer has no dialogue the synopsis tells a tale of a man attempting to boost magazine sales with murder (Bloody). The full synopsis is below.

Hunting humans like wild boar in The Hunt trailer
Here’s what we know:

1. There’s a house with creepy people in white masks.

2. There are some other people running through the bushes.

3. A few more are being hunted down by a dude with a bow.

4. Another person is being tortured.

That isn’t a whole lot to go on at the moment but it’s all very promising. While we dig for more details, check out the great trailer for Thomas Szczepanski’s The Hunt.
