For Assassin’s Creed Hexe to Work, Ubisoft Must Avoid This One Cliche
Image
As per recent leaks, Ubisoft seems to have no intention of stopping its expansion of the Assassin’s Creed universe. Assassin’s Creed: Shadows was the most recent entry within the Assassin’s Creed universe, and was generally well received, being considered as one of the stronger AC titles in recent years.

The upcoming Assassin’s Creed Hexe seems to be a very different kind of Assassin’s Creed, with a greater emphasis on dark, foreboding tones this time around. However, recent leaks seem to paint a rather tired trope for the game, which must be avoided at all costs.

Assassin’s Creed Hexe goes on with the same tired revenge trope

As per multiple leaks online (more precisely from Bunny – a well-regarded Ubisoft leaker and Partner), Hexe will feature a female protagonist this time around, named Elsa. Players are handed control of Elsa as soon as the game begins and will have...

‘1923’ Season 2 Finale Ending Explained: Is Alex Dead? What Did Spencer’s Dream Mean?
Image
In the 1923 season 2 ending, Alex finally realized that war isn’t some metaphor to the Duttons… It is a part of their daily lives. The tragedy is, people die in war, but Alex wasn’t afraid of death anymore. [Spoiler Alert] After crossing half the world to meet her lover, Alex understood a very simple thing in life. Fortunate are those who can choose to die with dignity. And that’s the decision Alex made in the season 2 finale. Her hands and feet were affected by frostbite. The doctors wanted to amputate so she could have a chance to survive, but Alex didn’t want to live like that. She sacrificed her life so her baby could see another dawn and be an emblem of their love’s odyssey. In the end, Alex gave birth to John II and passed away in Spencer’s arms. The shooting star that melted a hunter...

Superman Sneak Peek: If James Gunn Can Make Fortress of Solitude Look This Good, I Can’t Wait for the Batcave
Image
Hold on to your capes, superhero nerds, because James Gunn just dropped a sneak peek from Superman and it’s already giving us chills, literally. The first official look at the Fortress of Solitude has arrived, and it’s less “man cave in Antarctica” and more “architectural digest cover shoot meets alien zen palace.”

Seriously, if Superman ever gets tired of saving the world, he could totally Airbnb this place for $4,000 a night. Now, the Fortress of Solitude is traditionally Superman’s private hangout, where he reflects, trains, chats with ghost holograms of Jor-El, and probably keeps a stash of alien snacks.

A still from James Gunn’s Superman | Credits: Warner Bros.

But in Gunn’s hands? This Fortress isn’t just solitary. It’s sleek. It’s mystical. It’s glacier-core meets Krypton-core. And if this is how Clark Kent lives off the clock, then one can only imagine...

‘1923’ Season 2 Supersized Finale Will Reunite Spencer and Alex, but I’m Afraid It’s Going to Make ‘Yellowstone’ Ending Even Worse
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!Warning: This piece contains Heavy Spoilers for 1923 season 2!

I’ve always been one to appreciate a gripping finale that tugs at your heartstrings and leaves you wide-eyed in anticipation. But sometimes a supersized event is a bit too much for the emotional baggage we’ve already packed.

Well, I’ve been holding my breath, waiting for 1923 to take me on one last wild ride in its supersized season 2 finale. And as much as we’re all chomping at the bit to see Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar) finally reunite with Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer), I can’t shake the feeling that there’s a storm brewing. I’m not entirely convinced this ending will do Yellowstone any favors.

Sure, 1923’s finale promises a grand finale with all the bells and whistles, but there’s a nagging truth lurking just beneath the surface like an elephant in the room.

Quick LinksIs Jack Dutton John's Grandfather? Is Spencer Dutton John's Grandfather?1923 Could Pull Off a Major Twist With Jacob Dutton

1923Season 2 marks the end of the Yellowstone prequel series, charting yet another chapter in the Dutton family saga as they fight to defend their beloved ranch from outside forces seeking to steal it away. Halfway through the season, Taylor Sheridan and his team are still teasing viewers with numerous mysteries that have yet to unfold. With only a few episodes left, fans are left to put together various clues dropped throughout the show's two seasons to come to their conclusions.

One of the biggest mysteries surrounding 1923 is how exactly it connects to Yellowstone, the original series in Sheridan's television universe. The prequel features several branches of the Dutton family, though it isn't clear how they are related to the characters from Yellowstone. For years, fans have theorized as to...

There’s a lot of slop on the internet. YouTube, Moonbug, The Wiggles, and more say they’ll stop kids from watching it.
Image
There’s no question about it: YouTube absolutely dominates the under-12 entertainment experience. Recent data shows kids ages 2-12 watch an average of 106 minutes of YouTube content per day, making it the top platform for kids. Its viewership share for the kiddo demographic is more than double broadcast TV’s.

But the stuff kids watch there isn’t always good for them. Sometimes it’s what YouTube calls “low-quality content.”

And YouTube knows that. It also knows it’s had ongoing problems quality controlling content aimed at kids. You may remember 2017’s Elsagate, where videos of characters like Elsa from Frozen and Spider-Man were showing up on kids’ recommended feeds. The videos appeared normal on the surface, but often had disturbing and/or sexual content buried within.

To address these problems, YouTube has done things like push young users toward the family-friendly, advertising-absent version of its platform, YouTube Kids, and...

‘Bonjour Tristesse’ Trailer: Chloë Sevigny Disrupts a Holiday in Twisted Coming of Age Adaptation
Image
The melancholy of coming of age is captured in the whimsically dark “Bonjour Tristesse,” based on Françoise Sagan’s 1954 novella whose title translates to “Hello, Sadness.”

“Palm Trees and Power Lines” standout star Lily McInerny plays 18-year-old Cécile who is vacationing with her father Raymond (Claes Bang) and his lover Elsa (Naïlia Harzoune). However, their summer takes a twisted turn when Anne (Chloë Sevigny), a friend of Cécile’s late mother, drives down from Paris to pay the family a visit.

As the synopsis teases, “Cécile’s world is threatened and, desperate to regain control, she sets in motion a plan to drive Anne away with tragic consequences. The three embark on an incredible journey of deceit, lust, compassion, and unconditional love against the backdrop of an unforgettable French summer.” Aliocha Schneider also stars.

“Bonjour Tristesse” is writer/director Durga Chew-Bose’s directorial debut; the film premiered at 2024 TIFF.

Will Spencer & Alex Lead ‘1944’? All the Hints They Will
Image
[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for 1923 Season 2.] Elsa Dutton’s (Isabel May) narrations in the very first episode of 1923 warned that only one of James (Tim McGraw) and Margaret Dutton’s (Faith Hill) children would live to carry on the Dutton legacy into the future. Given that John Dutton I (James Badge Dale) died in 1923 Season 1 and Elsa died at the end of 1883, Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar) is clearly that child. But this narration may also hint that Spencer is going to be the main character of 1944, the next supposed Yellowstone spinoff. It’s been a while since there have been any updates about that previously announced prequel (and no cast or characters or plot have been announced), but it’s reportedly still on the table. There are some other subtle details that make us think Spencer’s great love, Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer), will lead 1944 alongside him, should the show ever come to pass. 1883 told the story...

Following its TIFF premiere last fall, Durga Chew-Bose’s Françoise Sagan adaptation Bonjour Tristesse recently traveled to New York, opening the Museum of the Moving Image’s First Look. Now, Greenwich Entertainment has set a May 2 theatrical debut for the drama starring Chloë Sevigny, Claes Bang, Lily McInerny, Nailia Harzoune, and Aliocha Schneider, and released the first trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: “At the height of summer, 18-year-old Cécile (Lily McInerny) is languishing by the French seaside with her handsome father, Raymond (Claes Bang), and his girlfriend, Elsa (Naïlia Harzoune), when the arrival of her late mother’s friend, Anne (Chloë Sevigny), changes everything. Amid the sun-drenched splendour of their surroundings, Cécile’s world is threatened and, desperate to regain control, she sets in motion a plan to drive Anne away with tragic consequences. 1923 Season 2 Episode 4 Recap: Journey the Rivers of Iron
Image
This is a scene-by-scene recap of 1923 Season 2 Episode 4, “Journey the Rivers of Iron.” For a discussion of the episode, please visit the 1923 Season 2 Episode 4 review.

Whitfield is addressing some men about modern American conveniences. They no longer use their hands to get rich but their minds. But where will they spend their money and free time?

They’ll travel wherever they can experience a world opposite of their own. Montana is the perfect place to do it. Selling an experience is an infinite resource that costs nothing to create because it already exists.

(Trae Patton/Paramount+)

He speaks of three concurrent phases: an airport, paved roadways through Paradise Valley, and a winter park resort that will keep people coming year-round to ice skate, toboggan, and ski. The men laugh at him. Why suffer through winter only to vacation there?

The man thinks vacationing on a beach is much different than snow.

Josh Gad Says Olaf's Original Frozen II Death Scene Left Kids 'Fully Traumatized'
Image
Olaf's death in Frozen II is arguably the saddest moment in the franchise. But, according to Josh Gad, who voiced the lovable snowman in both films, the character's death in the original script was much more brutal.

The actor detailed the devastating scene in his new memoir In Gad We Trust, explaining that writer-director Jennifer Lee had to rewrite it. "Jen and I started recording the dialogue and I couldn't get through it without sobbing," Gad recalled in an excerpt from his book via Entertainment Weekly. "Those first recordings were brutal, and I remember feeling that we were doing something that was going to pack a serious punch."

Frozen 2’s Josh Gad Reveals One Olaf Scene In The Original Version Was So Traumatic That They Had To Change It: "Kids Were Very, Very Sad"
Image
Josh Gad explains why one Olaf scene had to be changed for Frozen II. Known for his adorable song "In Summer" in 2013's Frozen, Olaf is the jovial snowman in the Frozen movies. Gad, who has performed on Broadway, contributed his vocal talents to Olaf for the movie. He is joined by a talented Frozen voice cast including Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Ciarán Hinds. Gad is set to reprise his snowman role in Frozen 3, which is set for release in 2027.

In his memoir In Gad We Trust (via Entertainment Weekly), Gad explains how a key Olaf scene from Frozen II had to be rewritten. According to the actor, Frozen II's original Olaf death scene was "brutal," and Gad himself even struggled to get through it in the recording booth. After a test screening, Gad asked director Jennifer Lee how she thought it went, and she...

Josh Gad Says 'Frozen 2's Original Olaf Death Scene "Traumatized" Kids
Image
Frozen 2 could have ended up a childhood trauma scar for a generation of kids on the level of Bambi's mom if some key details had stayed in the picture. According to Olaf actor, Josh Gad, his character's death scene in the original script was so brutal, it left kids in the test screenings "fully traumatized." Which is...not exactly what Disney was looking for in the follow-up to the juggernaut first film.

According to Entertainment Weekly, however, that's what they nearly got. In his newly released memoir, In Gad We Trust, the actor explains that in the "truly stunning," "first version [of the death], Olaf himself was scared and confused by what was happening." Their "commitment to the brutality of Olaf's naïveté about all things," he explained, "made our intended audience scared for Olaf, rather than emotional."

Imagine coming in to film Frozen 2 and your first day at work is recording this death scene?...

Frozen Cosplay Brings Elsa's Ice Powers To Life
Image
Frozen's Elsa comes to life in a new cosplay, which recreates her ice powers. Released in 2013 and directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, the Disney animated adventure film follows Princess Anna (Kristen Bell) as she embarks on a mission to recover her sister, Elsa (Idina Menzel), whose ice powers have plunged the kingdom of Arendelle into an eternal winter. The film was a major hit and was followed by the even more successful Frozen 2, and both Anna and Elsa are now set to return once more in the announced Frozen 3.

While the wait continues for Frozen 3, cosplayer Grimilde Malatesta recreates Elsa's look from the "Let It Go" sequence from the original movie in an impressive cosplay. The cosplay features a screen-accurate blue Elsa gown, along with the character's blonde hairstyle and makeup. The cosplay even includes a digital ice effect reminiscent of Elsa's powers in the movie.

Moana's New Powers In Moana 2 Show How Disney Is Evolving It's Princess Approach
Image
For years, Disney has built upon its empire of beloved Disney princesses, yet with the recent release of Moana 2, it seems as though the company may be heading in a new direction with its female characters. Premiering at the end of 2024, Moana 2 is the long-awaited sequel to 2016's Moana. In the latest installment, Moana teams up with a group of her friends to go on a quest to revive a sunken island that will reconnect the people of the ocean. Along the way, the titular character reunites with her old demigod pal, Maui.

It is no secret that Disney has shifted its storylines over the years, opting for more diverse and character-centric stories rather than plain tales of romance and damsels in distress. For the most part, these have proven to be great changes. Frozen, which focuses on sisterly love and personal freedom, is one of Disney's most popular IPs.

10 MCU Heroes We'll Likely Never Get To See Interact
Image
After nearly 17 years, the MCU has grown considerably large, with a massive cast of characters that span dozens of movies and television series. The universe’s humble beginnings almost feel surreal when looking back on how it all kicked off with Iron Man. Now, the MCU timeline almost feels unwieldy, spanning decades and multiple alternate universes. At the center of it all, though, are the well-liked characters that fans have grown to love.

Despite already being massive, the upcoming MCU release schedule promises to introduce even more heroes. One of the greatest aspects of the MCU is seeing all these different heroes interact with each other, mostly starting out in their own movies before becoming part of something much bigger. Unfortunately, because of the remarkable number of characters, not all of them will have a chance to interact with each other, due to various circumstances.

Yellowstone's 1883 Prophecy Explained In Detail That Spelled The Dutton Ranch's Ending
Image
Spoiler Alert for 1883, 1923, & Yellowstone

Yellowstone spelled out its ending in another story that followed the Dutton family. In 1883, the earliest-known members of John Dutton's family embarked on a harrowing journey from Texas to Montana on a variant of the Oregon Trail. Rather than battling criminals and development complexes, James Dutton's family in 1883 fought the perils of nature. James, Margaret, Elsa, and John forged rivers in Texas, braved tornadoes on the Great Plains, and faced the chilling threat of winter as they approached the mountains in a covered wagon. Still, the Dutton family's primary enemy in 1883 was greed, the same as always.

At the end of their journey, the Dutton family encounters a wise figure who guides them to their destination and foretells the end of their legacy. In the Yellowstone season 5 finale, Kayce Dutton brings that prophecy from 1883 to fruition. The development proves that Yellowstone screenwriter Taylor Sheridan...

Once Upon A Time Introducing These 2 Disney Characters Was When The Series Started Going Wrong
Image
Once Upon a Time adapted many Disney fairy tales, from princesses to villains and everything in between, always with a fun twist on the characters fans thought they knew. After three seasons of drawing from classics, Once Upon a Time turned to Disney's most recent hit movie and brought Frozen's Elsa and Anna into the show. Elsa initially seems to be the antagonist to the Once Upon a Time's Charming family, but the show involves another character, their Aunt Ingrid (Elizabeth Mitchell), who also has ice-based powers, to be the real villain of season 4A.

By season 4, Once Upon a Time had adapted many Disney princesses, yet the show's live-action Elsa (Georgina Haig) and Anna (Elizabeth Lail) are exactly like their movie origins. However, while Frozen was a phenomenon as a film, translating it into Once Upon a Time was not as successful. Elsa and Anna's inclusion felt awkward to fans of the show,...

Moana's New Demigod Status Makes Her The Most Powerful Disney Princess
Image
Warning: This article contains spoilers for Moana 2.Although Moana 2 belongs to one of Disney's newer princesses, the wayfinder has quickly risen as one of the most beloved and, now, the most powerful. Disney princesses have changed a lot over the years, but they often fight against adversaries with supernatural powers or formidable strength — yet always prove themselves more than capable through their resilience, open hearts, and intelligence. While this is also the case for the Motunui leader, her story has now taken a remarkable turn, as Moana 2’s ending grants Moana (Auli'i Cravalho) demigod abilities on top of her other admirable traits.

Early Disney princesses like Snow White and Cinderella, though emotionally strong, were written to be saved by a capable man. The Yellowstone Season 5 Finale Missed An Opportunity To Highlight Tate's Importance
Image
Spoiler Alert for 1883 & Yellowstone season 5, episode 14, "Life Is A Promise"

Yellowstone's season 5 finale missed the opportunity to highlight Tate's significance. Tate's positioning in the Dutton family tree is critically important to the franchise and the outcome of season 5. In the Yellowstone finale, Kayce Dutton sold the Yellowstone Ranch to the Broken Rock Tribe, whose ancestors owned the land before the Dutton family. Consequently, Beth and Kayce could move on from the ranch, settling with their families in Dillon and East Camp, respectively.

Kayce, Tate, and Monica had a full circle ending in Yellowstone, with the patriarch's bold decision blending his desire to protect the ranch and to put his family first. Kayce's negotiations allowed the youngest sixth-generation Dutton to escape the dangers of protecting his family's massive Montana land legacy, the largest contiguous ranch in the US. The exoneration of this burden is why Kayce keeps saying they are free after selling the ranch.

All 4 Characters Taylor Sheridan Plays In His Own TV Shows & Movies
Image
Though he's better known for creating prestige TV shows and movies, Taylor Sheridan has also played four characters in the projects he wrote. Before Taylor Sheridan wrote his shows and movies, Taylor Sheridan was an actor in his own right. He starred in a few notable projects, like Sons of Anarchy, where he played David Hale, and got quite a bit of experience in front of the camera. He's also used that experience in his own shows, as he's become one of many recurring actors in Sheridan's shows. Over the years, Sheridan has had small roles in four of his own movies and shows.

Most of Sheridan's shows include big casts filled with prominent actors, so his cameos can often fly under the radar. For example, the cast of Landman includes Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, and Demi Moore, and Sheridan is exceptionally skilled at securing big names to star in his projects.

"Well That Was Terrifying": Disney Dreamlight Valley Player Gets A Horrific Shot Of Elsa While Checking Their Inventory
Image
A Disney Dreamlight Valley fan got a fright when they opened their inventory and saw a bit more than they bargained for. Dreamlight Valley is usually a wholesome title that lets players interact with their favorite Disney characters in a town they design and customize. The game features faithful recreations of beloved Disney films and franchises, and a story that strings them all together into a cohesive narrative. Part of the game's charm is in meeting and befriending personalities that come to life through the Valley's vibrant community of NPCs.

Redditor Jay-birdi was not expecting to get a very up-close and personal view of one of these characters. They share a video that shows their character going about their day, walking through the valley when they stop to open their inventory. Moments before they do so, Elsa walks just barely into the frame at the bottom of the screen. Once the inventory opens up,...

Shake off the post-Christmas-crash with Disney+
Image
Disney fans everywhere might be putting away their Christmas decorations and putting the stockings back in storage, but that doesn't mean we can't keep warm with a little Disney magic during the winter months. Although Santa Claus is back at the North Pole, we can still keep watching our frosty favorites.

The time between Christmas and New Year's might feel like something of a holiday limbo, but that doesn't mean we still can't have a little fun. Since there's practically a Disney movie for every occasion, here are some of our Disney+ picks for beating back those after-holidays blues.

Toy Story That Time Forgot (2014)

While we might be cheating a little with this TV movie from Disney and Pixar, it technically happens directly after Christmas. As Bonnie brings Woody and the gang over to her friend Mason’s to play with their new Christmas gifts, Woody, Buzz, Trixie, and Rex...

Frozen 3: Elsa Could Turn Evil if Disney Follows the Original Fairytale
Image
Details are sparse about Disney’s third animated Frozen movie. Could a hypothetical plotline for Frozen III force Disney fans to “let it go” when it comes to viewing Elsa as the hero of the Arrendale story? Could Elsa turn to the “dark side” and finally become the Snow Queen?

What if Disney revisited the original fairytale that Frozen was based on, Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen?”

From Evil Snow Queen to the Singing Sisters of Disney’s ‘Frozen’

The production history of Disney’s blockbuster hit, “Frozen,” is a tale of creative evolution and determination. Originally inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen,” the film underwent a fascinating transformation as Disney worked tirelessly to adapt the story into the enchanting masterpiece that captured hearts worldwide.

Disney’s fascination with Andersen’s “The Snow Queen” dates back to the late 1930s. However, attempts to adapt the...

1923 Season 2: Devastating Theory About Spencer and Alex’s Tragic Fates Will Have Fans Begging Taylor Sheridan
Image
Taylor Sheridan is not one to hold back on a shocking and brutal ending for his central characters, as proven by his latest entry in the Yellowstone finale. When it comes to the prequel series, 1923, a similar fate may be lying in wait for some of the Duttons, despite what the audience may expect from the show.

While endless theories exist on social media about where Sheridan is headed with Season 2 of the prequel, there are some that hit the spot while a few others feed into the imaginative fantasy and frenzy. Whatever the end may hold for 1923, Taylor Sheridan will certainly deliver a satisfying finale, considering he has not yet disappointed the audience when it comes to storytelling and world-building.

Top 10 Disney Musicals – Moana, Lion King, and The Muppets
Image
With the box office smash Moana 2 crushing box office records, Disney has added another monster musical to their filmography. Few companies are more associated with the genre than Disney. Not only do they win big prizes in film, but Disney Musicals have taken over Broadway for years at a time. Moana 2 will still pocket several hundred million dollars before it’s done. That, as well as the impending release of Mufasa, make this the perfect time to look back over the best Disney Musicals in history.

Of note, this is a contentious discussion, to say the least. There are dozens of movies and musicals to choose from, all with valid rationales behind their inclusion. This required some hardline rules, which eliminated a few movies in the process. To qualify, we required four songs, sung for the purposes of plot by a character in the movie, to be eligible for inclusion.

10 Movies That Have Multiple Main Characters
Image
While many movies focus on a single main character, there have been so many other great releases that have multiple protagonists. Whether it’s two-handers with dual lead roles or an ensemble movie packed with endless character introductions and bit parts, this variety in filmmaking makes for incredibly engaging viewing and allows for a type of storytelling that’s not possible when it’s just focused on one main character. In some cases, it can be difficult for viewers to even agree on who the main character is, as each cast member adds something vital to the narrative.

Many of the best movies ever made featured multiple main characters and had a broad focus across several different subplots. There are plenty of amazing directors, like Quentin Tarantino and Wes Anderson, who have excelled in making great movies that feature lots of main characters who each complement and inform the other.

Frozen is one of Disney’s most beloved movies of all time, and the holiday season is the perfect time to revisit it.

However, no matter how often you watch the movie and it’s sequel, we bet that there’s so much you don’t know about them.

Believe it or not, the original blockbuster premiered in theaters more than 10 years ago. In honor of the special anniversary, Vanity Fair got the film’s stars including Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff together to look back on the start of the successful franchise.

The feature revealed a lot about how the final movie we know and love differed from the original that Disney set out to create. It featured different actresses reading for Elsa and Anna (the characters played by Idina and Kristen) and a very different plot.

We also learned that Frozen was not the...

Yellowstone Finale Argues The Importance Of Taylor Sheridan's Forgotten Prequel
Image
Spoiler Alert for 1883 & Yellowstone season 5, episode 14, "Life Is A Promise"

The Yellowstone season 5 finale concludes some of the franchise's best stories, including one that began years ago in a prequel series. Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan also launched the prequel series 1883 and 1923 after starting the flagship series, and they weave into the modern-day Dutton family tree. When Kayce sells the ranch to the Broken Rock Tribe in the Yellowstone season 5 finale, he pays off a vital tale from a different show, highlighting how important the beginning of the Dutton story is in 1883.

Paramount Network stages a super-sized finale as Yellowstone season 5, episode 14 has a lot of ground to cover. Beth and Jamie resolve their enduring war, the Broken Rock Tribe stops the pipeline on their land, and John Dutton is laid to rest. Kayce and Beth can finally start their next chapter after selling the Yellowstone Ranch to Thomas Rainwater and Broken Rock.

‘Yellowstone’ EP Christina Alexandra Voros on the Show’s Future After Season 5 Finale: ‘We Don’t Know What’s Over the Horizon’
Image
“Yellowstone,” the most popular show on television, has ended.

Or has it?

The confusion over whether or not Taylor Sheridan’s blockbuster Paramount Network series is over for good after Sunday night’s season finale remains. But what is for certain is that a big chapter closed, with the family selling the ranch to Rainwater (Gil Birmingham) and the reservation; Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) leaving the ranch; and Jamie (Wes Bentley) dying at the hands of a vengeful Beth.

Also: they finally buried John Dutton (formerly played by Kevin Costner), which was a touching and strange moment.

But as to where this leaves the show (and a number of potential spinoffs) is anybody’s guess. The ambiguity of the final moments of the finale, punctuated by narration that began in “Yellowstone” prequel “1883” and continued with “1923,” certainly didn’t help anything.

TheWrap spoke to Christina Alexandra Voros, an...

Yellowstone's Ending Was Pre-Determined 2 Years Ago In A Different Taylor Sheridan Show
Image
Spoiler Alert for 1883 & Yellowstone season 5, episode 14, "Life Is A Promise"

Yellowstone season 5 finale concludes its most significant stories with an ending that was previously revealed two years ago. Montana’s Indigenous people finally disrupt the Department of Interior’s pipeline when they successfully displace its pipe in the episode’s opening. Beth and Rip bid farewell to the Yellowstone cowboys, who all have exciting endeavors on the horizon. The finale also wraps up Kevin Costner’s John Dutton III's story, who died in the Yellowstone season 5, part 2 premiere.

Beth and Jamie’s war in Yellowstone wraps up as well, with the siblings engaging in an intense brawl. When Rip arrives, he holds Jamie for Beth to stab him in cold blood, with John’s daughter successfully avenging his death. However, none of those segments topped the fate of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, which Kayce sold to the Broken Rock Tribe.

Peanuts' Charles Schulz Redesigned Garfield For a Touching Reason
Image
Charles Schulz's Peanuts and Jim Davis' Garfield are the two most beloved comic strips of all time, and not only did the creators influence each other, but Schulz actually redesigned Davis' creation as a personal favor. This was no one-time change, either, with Davis incorporating Schulz's alteration into what fans would consider Garfield's modern design.

In an interview with Heritage Auctions (included below), Davis discusses how Schulz redesigned his iconic tabby cat. Animating Garfield's first TV special, 1982's Here Comes Garfield, Davis realized that Garfield's design made it impossible for the cartoon cat to dance over the credits as he'd intended.

"I was having a terrible time with it," Davis admits, "because he had these tiny little feet and this big round body." Thankfully, Davis quickly discovered that Charles Schulz was just one room over, working on a Peanuts special. Not only did Schulz have the answer -...

'Moana 2' and 'Frozen II' Have the Same Fatal Flaw
Image
Moana 2 is one of the biggest hits of 2024. That shouldn't be shocking, considering Moana is the most watched movie on Disney+, but it certainly is a leap to see how big the franchise has grown where it is seemingly going toe to toe in terms of popularity and box office as Frozen and its sequel Frozen II did. Moana 2 is performing on pace with Frozen II, and fans are watching to see if it can overtake the 2019's $1.4 billion worldwide box office.

Besides box office successes, Frozen II and Moana 2 have a great deal in common. Both are sequels to modern Walt Disney Animation Studios hits that launched popular new brands for Disney. They both occur three years after the original film and model their stories after an RPG, with the characters fitting specific archetypes. Moana 2 and Frozen II also set up a grand mythology to be explored in sequels.

Who Is Elsa Dutton & Why Her Narration Is The Perfect Ending For Yellowstone
Image
Spoiler Alert for 1883 and Yellowstone season 5, episode 14, "Life Is A Promise"

Elsa Dutton narrates the end of the Dutton Ranch in Yellowstone, and her monologue is the perfect ending for her family's story. Elsa is deeply embedded in the story of the Duttons' legacy in Montana, which they part with in the finale. As Yellowstone season 5, part 2, came to a head, Elsa's story became relevant again as her family passed on the ranch's stewardship to the Broken Rock Tribe, which her Yellowstone prequel story foretold. In the Yellowstone season 5 finale, Kayce sells the land to the reservation.

Kayce's decision prompts Montana's Indigenous people to return the land to the way the Duttons found it, except for one vital piece. When some of the Broken Rock children knock over the Duttons' graves, Mo Brings Plenty stops them and reminds them that the family died protecting the land. When Mo returns an...
