Image
Does Dakota Johnson, Chris Martin & Gwyneth Paltrow Share A Good Bond?(Photo Credit –Instagram)

Relationships often work out, and often, they don’t. But that doesn’t mean you would hold a grudge against each other, and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow also believes in that. She was previously in a decade-old marriage with Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin, but after their divorce, she stayed friends with him, continued co-parenting their kids, and even accepted his new, now ex-girlfriend, Dakota Johnson with open arms.

For the unversed, Chris and Dakota started dating in 2017 and were together for eight years before deciding to call it quits earlier this month. Yes, that’s right. The couple has broken up. But where does this lead to their friendship with Gwyneth Paltrow? Let’s take a look at their history.

Image
Dakota Johnson & Chris Martin Relationship Explored(Photo Credit –Instagram)

Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin and Hollywood star Dakota Johnson were first spotted together in 2017 before sparking romance rumors. From then on, their connection included low-key outings and occasional shared sightings. Now, speculation suggests their eight-year-long companionship may have come to a close. Here’s a quick recap of their relationship, from its beginning in 2017 to their reported split in 2025.

2017: The Beginning Of A Melodic Romance

Back in October 2017, rumors started when Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson were seen grabbing sushi in LA. An onlooker told People that they were “cozy, laughing, and affectionate.” Then, in November, the actress showed up at a Coldplay show in Buenos Aires, which only fueled the dating rumors.

Later in December, a tipster confirmed their romance, telling US Weekly, “Dakota and Chris are definitely dating. They’ve gotten to know each other really well and...

Dangerous Animals Review: Shark Thriller Meets Serial Killer Horror With Generic Results
Image
Maybe it’s a bad sign when you can predict the exact moment a title card is going to drop. So is the case with Dangerous Animals, a new thriller-horror hybrid from the talented Australian director Sean Byrne. The Aussie first caught the attention of global genre fans with his clever teen horror film The Loved Ones on the festival circuit back in 2009; one hoped he’d live up to its promise and become one of our next B-movie greats. Yet even with a steady hand at the helm, his new film plays surprisingly generic. Frankly, watching it, I began to wonder if I was starting to age into my parents, looking down at these kinds of films and no longer entertained by just hitting the beats of a violent serial-killer movie.

Dangerous Animals doesn’t have a bad set-up––a Peeping Tom riff with a serial killer who likes...

Dangerous Animals review – shark-bait thriller boasts a gnarly Jai Courtney
Sean Byrne in The Loved Ones (2009)
A badass surfer on Australia’s Gold Coast takes on a villainous tour guide who is ferrying unwary sightseers to view the sharks

Sean Byrne’s gonzo horror thriller premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section of this year’s Cannes film festival, in the sidebar where Cannes traditionally finds a place in its heart for genre or offbeat fare. Yet despite this stamp of authority – and a lead turn from Jai Courtney that could best be described as “gnarly” – I couldn’t get behind this movie, which has a bargain-basement straight-to-streaming feel to it.

The scene is the Australian Gold Coast where surfers come to catch gigantic waves. Hassie Harrison (from TV’s Yellowstone) plays a badass surfer named Zephyr, who travels around in her van as free as the wind sampling the most outrageous swells. She meets-cute with Moses (Josh Heuston), a nerdy guy who is very sweet and yet also kind of hot.

‘Dangerous Animals’ Review: Sean Byrne’s Toothless Shark Tale from Down Under
Image
“I Beat Jaws,” reads a headline that a serial killer named Tucker (Jai Courtney) has framed in his boat to commemorate his unexpected survival against a shark. This reference early in Dangerous Animals, directed by Sean Byrne and written by Nick Lepard, serves to reinforce just how large the legend of Jaws looms a half-century after its initial release. It’s not the wisest decision for any film to invoke a classic like Jaws, especially one that can’t begin to hold a candle to Steven Spielberg’s mastery of suspense and spectacle.

Dangerous Animals, an unsuccessful fusion of creature feature and slasher, hits choppy waters early as it sets up its dual story. In a cold open before the title card drop, unassuming couple Heather (Ella Newton) and Greg (Liam Greinke) board Tucker’s bright orange vessel in order to cage dive with sharks. The beasts they fear are underwater,...

‘Dead Outlaw’ Review: A Corpse Walks Off With A Glorious Broadway Season Send-Off
Image
The indignities of the grave pale in comparison to the indignities of having your preserved corpse put on display as a sideshow attraction, wax museum exhibit, or amusement park horror ride prop. You could ask Elmer McCurdy all about that if he wasn’t, as one of the best songs in Dead Outlaw, an unmissable musical filled with excellent tunes, puts succinctly, dead. Had Elmer stayed dead in one last place a bit longer he might have added an appearance on The Six Million Dollar Man to his show biz resume.

In one of the quirkiest, most morbid and somehow loveliest musicals to hit Broadway this season – even Floyd Collins‘ dying spelunker plot seems conventional by comparison – Dead Outlaw, directed by David Cromer, is a very late entry in Broadway’s 2024-2025 season, and absolutely one of the best.

Will The Wheel of Time Season 4 Get the Greenlight? Here’s Why It’s Earned a Renewal
Image
Let’s just say it: The Wheel of Time’s third season was its best so far.

So, why in the world hasn’t Amazon done the smart thing and gotten the ball moving on the next season yet?

First, it has to be said that the show has only gotten more amazing and exciting as the series has progressed. Of course, that’s obvious since the show is still going.

(Courtesy of Prime Video)

Unfortunately, the streamer has not given The Wheel of Time the green light to proceed with Season 4. That is baffling, considering the show’s renewal track record.

Not to mention the immersive story that pulls you in right from the start, and The Wheel of Time Season 3 had one of the most epic openings to a season yet.

Kanye West is revealing a fight he allegedly had with former collaborator Jay Z.

If you don’t know, the pair collaborated on 2021′s “Jail” from West‘s 2021 album Donda.

If you don’t know, Jay-Z raps on the song, “Told him, ‘Stop all of that red cap, we goin’ home’ / Not me with all of these sins, castin’ stones / This might be the return of The Throne (Throne) / Hova and Yeezus, like Moses and Jesus.”

The “red cap” seemingly refers to a Maga hat and West‘s support of Trump, which dates back to his first Presidency.

In a now-deleted tweet that West allegedly sent out on Sunday (April 20), he gave some insight.

Pharrell Williams Gives Advice About the Pitfalls of the Music Industry at His Adidas Film Premiere: “It’s Crazy”
Image
A week after news broke of Pharrell Williams and director Michel Gondrey’s decision to shutter their highly anticipated musical Golden for Universal from its scheduled May 9 release, Williams premiered another film in Atlanta. All Day I Dream About Is Sport is a short film made with London-born photographer/filmmaker Gabriel Moses for Division and Adidas, with the title, when made into an acronym, playing off the sneaker brand’s name. Described as a “visual love letter to West African culture steeped in the everyday experience of life in Senegal,” it’s nothing like Williams’ big screen musical, which starred Janelle Monae, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Halle Bailey. Rather, it puts a spotlight on the people of Dakar.

Those featured in the 20-minute film, which began its weeklong screening on Le Cinema Friday, span from an unborn child captured via ultrasound to the elderly to demonstrate the challenges of living.

Image
Stars: Maryam d’Abo, Elle O’Hara, Amber Doig-Thorne, Michaela Longden, Lisa Riesner, Annabelle Lanyon, Paul Barber | Written by Nathan Shepka, Tom Jolliffe | Directed by Nathan Shepka, Andy Crane

[Disclaimer: Nerdly have been involved with The Baby in the Basket behind the scenes for some time now, with our own Phil and Kevin credited as Co-Executive Producers on the film. However… the site and their involvement have had No bearing on the outcome of this review!]

The Baby in the Basket takes its name from one of the best-known stories from the Bible, the tale of Moses being placed in a basket and sent adrift on the Nile, only to be discovered and adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter. However, in this eerie tale, the child left in a basket on the doorstep of St. Augustine’s convent may be anything but divine.

'Smallville' Star Michael Rosenbaum Making Series on Dorothea Puente
Image
Smallville’s very own Lex Luthor, Michael Rosenbaum, serves as one of the co-creators behind an upcoming television series based on the notorious serial killer Dorothea Puente (per Deadline). Known as the Death House Landlady, Puente callously murdered some of the elderly people who stayed at her boarding house in Sacramento, California during the 1980s. The mass murderer would then profit off her victims by cashing in their social security checks.

The former President of Sony Pictures Television Studios, Jeff Frost, is spearheading the Dorothea Puente project as an executive producer through his production company, Bristol Circle Entertainment. Co-creator Joshua Michael Stern will serve as the showrunner and an executive producer, while co-creators Rosenbaum and Jane Whitney will serve as writers and EPs. Rosenbaum portrayed Clark Kent’s (Tom Welling) best friend and later his most dangerous adversary for seven seasons on the must-see WB and CW series, Smallville.

The One Where Abhishek Bachchan Caused A Real Not Reel Stampede
Image
Subhash K Jha reminisces about the time Abhishek Bachchan caused a real, not reel, stampede on his street.

This was in 2011. Abhishek, a dear friend, was in my town, Patna, to promote his film Dum Maro Dum with co-star Rana Daggubati and director Rohan Sippy. At around 6pm, when Abhishek had taken off his shoes and had plonked himself comfortably on the floor in our house, and we were all bitching about the whole industry, a neatly dressed man walked straight in and requested a picture. I presumed he was part of Abhishek’s extended entourage of security guards, publicity coordinators, and photographers.

It turned out to be a man from the street who had slipped past the tight security, walked confidently up the four flights of stairs to our top floor, got his picture, and walked out.

By this time, the crowd of around 500 people strong when Abhishek arrived...

Tamron Hall Says 6 Seasons in, She Maintains the ‘Integrity’ of Her Talk Show While Telling Others’ Stories
Image
Tamron Hall said her talk show’s genuine and wholistic interest in real-life stories and issues will not be going anywhere as she closes out Season 6 of the “Tamron Hall Show.”

“Even now, six seasons later, one of the things that will never change — the pixie has changed a lot of times [but] I am not going to change … At 54, I am more confident than ever of who I am and what I want from this journey. But the integrity of the conversation will never change,” Hall told TheWrap.

“We were the only daytime show to do ‘Hear Us Now’ after the attacks on Iranian women for not wearing their hair covering; we were the only show to do an entire hour dedicated to George Floyd and hearing out the young people whose cries were, in their opinion, being ignored,” Hall continued. “Whether it is sexual abuse, crime, legislation, we have...

Ridley Scott Defended His Most Racist Movie By Claiming a Lead Actor Called “Mohammad so-and-so from such-and-such” Is Not Bankable
Image
Filmmaker Ridley Scott is known for his opulent commercial films that usually tackle larger-than-life subjects. While most of Scott’s films have been critical or commercial hits, some of them have been absolute duds, including the 2014 biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings, based on the story of Prophet Moses from the Bible. However, the film was criticized for its casting choices.

Christian Bale was cast as Moses in Exodus: Gods and Kings (Credit: 20th Century Fox).

After the film’s all-white cast was announced, Scott faced heavy backlash and accusations of white-washing. Scott defended his decision to cast Caucasian actors in the movie over staying true to the ethnic roots of the biblical figures. However, Scott’s explanation was bewildering and rather bizarre. Here is how Ridley Scott defended Exodus: Gods and Kings’ casting choices.

Hard Truths
Image
There is no filmmaker alive who understands the mundanity and quiet grace of the human experience quite like Mike Leigh. Over a decades-spanning career he’s found poetry and pathos in the everyday business of being alive. From David Thewlis’ nihilistic Johnny in Naked to Sally Hawkins’ irrepressibly effervescent Poppy in Happy-Go-Lucky, his characters feel intensely real while also reflecting a subdued desperation at the heart of British society.

After taking on a larger canvas with Peterloo, Leigh makes a welcome return to intimate character studies with Hard Truths, shooting in a stripped-down style that echoes the television films that made his name. He reunites with Marianne Jean-Baptiste, who he directed in the Palme d’Or-winning Secrets & Lies, and who here gives a truly astonishing performance as a woman who cannot articulate her abject misery.

Game of Thrones Spinoff 10,000 Ships' Brian Helgeland Reveals New Details About the HBO Series
Image
Brian Helgeland envisioned an epic Game of Thrones spinoff, 10,000 Ships, chronicling Queen Nymeria's journey before GoT events. Despite a well-received script mirroring Moses' story, HBO hesitated due to time gap with original series. Inspired by iconic tales, Helgeland hoped for a creative partnership with George R. R. Martin for the compelling show.

Acclaimed writer Brian Helgeland recently shed light on why the Game of Thrones spinoff, 10,000 Ships, failed to proceed at HBO despite its initial promise.

10,000 Ships was designed to portray the epic saga of Queen Nymeria, set a millennium before the events fans witnessed in Game of Thrones. Helgeland envisioned a rich storyline with adventure and historical intrigue, centered around this formidable ruler known from a brief mention in a Westeros encyclopedia. Despite his enthusiasm and a well-received script, the project hit a snag.

According to Helgeland during an interview with Inverse, the significant time gap...

“They felt the period of my show was too far removed”: Oscar Winner’s Game of Thrones Spin-off Might Never See the Light of Day for its Mythological Idea That’s Too Controversial Today
Image
Brian Helgeland is a popular name in the industry for his works in films like Mystic River and L.A. Confidential. The latter even blessed him with an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. The renowned screenwriter and producer was near to having his Game of Thrones spin-off series. However, the Ten Thousand Ships series never got a green light from HBO.

A scene from Game Of Thrones

The idea of Brian Helgeland’s Ten Thousand Ships was planned to be based on the mythological story of Moses. The structure and tonality of the story would have been very different from the main Game of Thrones series. Although Helgeland has stated that his script is still there and HBO can pick it if they want, it is highly unlikely due to the present political milieu of the world.

Filmmaker Brian Helgeland Reveals More Epic Information About Rejected Queen Nymeria-Centered ‘Game of Thrones’ Spin-Off
Image
Best known for his work on L.A. Confidential and Mystic River, both brilliant thrillers, filmmaker Brian Helgeland is certainly one of Hollywood’s more interesting authors. And while the Oscar-winning writer and director is best known for his work on movies, he has also pitched a Game of Thrones spin-off series to HBO, which was ultimately rejected. Tentatively titled 10,000 Ships, the series was supposed to be focused on Queen Nymeria, the warrior-queen of the Rhoynar, but the idea was ultimately rejected by HBO, which seems to be a very bad move.

Namely, Helgeland has revealed more information about his series, revealing that it would have been an amazing ocean epic, and knowing Helgeland’s writing skills, we’re quite certain that the series would have been amazing. The filmmaker has revealed more information about his planned project, and we are going to bring them here to you.

“I met with George R.R. Martin..”: Oscar Winner Says His Game of Thrones Spin Off on Queen Nymeria Can Still Happen But There is One Crucial Problem

Despite the disappointment of its finale, Game of Thrones undeniably had a successful run, leading many to consider the possibility of spin-offs due to its immense popularity. Brian Helgeland, an Oscar-winning screenplay writer also entertained one such idea and recently discussed why his spinoff script failed to be chosen and the challenges it encountered in a recent interview.

Game of Thrones Brian Helgeland’s Game of Thrones Spinoff Idea was Based on Queen Nymeria!

Based on Queen Nymeria, who is a legendary figure in the history of Westeros, Queen of Rhoynar, who later founded the kingdom of Nymeria. ‘Nothing Is Ever Dead': Shelved Game of Thrones Spinoff Writer Teases the Show's Release
Image
Despite its lukewarm final season, HBO's Game of Thrones still ended with the promise of multiple spinoffs. A writer for a scrapped prequel teases what could have been an epic show set in ancient Westeros.

It's almost four years since HBO's Game of Thrones ended, but some fans have yet to recover from the show's underwhelming final episodes. House of the Dragon has redeemed faith in a franchise that was initially slated for multiple spinoffs; fortunately, some of these are in different stages of development, but others have been shelved or outright rejected. In an interview with Inverse, one of the writers of Ten Thousand Ships reveals more details about the proposed prequel, which draws heavy inspiration from the Sinbad films, Homer's The Odyssey, and Moses' Exodus.

Canceled Game Of Thrones Spin-Off Was Inspired By A Classic Fantasy Adventure
Image
All "Game of Thrones" fans know the words Valar Morghulis, a Valyrian saying for "All men must die." That phrase almost proved prophetic when it came to HBO's attempts to whittle down the many spin-off shows at various stages in development over the years. Although "House of the Dragon" survived the culling to earn a second season, several others -- the Jon Snow-centric series, an untitled prequel starring Naomi Watts (which actually filmed a full pilot episode before being scrapped), and even a show set in the slums of King's Landing, Flea Bottom -- were doomed to the chopping block.

One of the more fascinating concepts, however, involved a famous figure from Westerosi history known as Nymeria. Titled "Ten Thousand Ships", this, too, never coalesced and we've never known why. Luckily, the folks over at Inverse recently had the chance to sit down with writer Brian Helgeland, known for "A Knight's Tale,...

HBO’s Game of Thrones spinoff, Ten Thousand Ships, inspired by Moses and focusing on Queen Nymeria, gets docked
Image
Brian Helgeland’s Game of Thrones spinoff, Ten Thousand Ships, is getting docked as HBO shelves the project before it can set sail. Helgeland, the director behind films like L.A. Confidential and A Knight’s Tale and screenwriter for the Tony Scott-directed crime drama Man on Fire, spoke with Inverse about the defunct project, saying it would have focused on Queen Nymeria, the warrior-queen who led the Rhoynar refugees to Dorne.

Helgeland speaks with Inverse and makes Ten Thousand Ships sound biblical in scope and story. He likens Queen Nymeria’s tale to the story of Moses, with survivors from a ravaged country setting sail for a new home.

“It came out great, but I think they felt the period of my show was too far removed from the pillars of the original,” Helgeland explained to Inverse about his spinoff. “That’s why it hasn’t been picked up yet,...

‘Game of Thrones’ Spinoff ‘10,000 Ships’ Revealed as Moses-Inspired Epic About Queen Nymeria’s Exodus: ‘My Work Is Still There if HBO Wants to Pick It Up’
Image
Brian Helgeland’s illustrious Hollywood career includes winning an Oscar for writing “L.A Confidential,” directing Heath Ledger’s beloved 2001 comedy “A Knight’s Tale” and scripting films such as “Man on Fire” and “Mystic River.” It also could’ve included a “Game of Thrones” spinoff series had HBO moved forward on his pitch, which was titled “Ten Thousand Ships” and centered on Queen Nymeria.

“It came out great, but I think they felt the period of my show was too far removed from the pillars of the original,” Helgeland recently told Inverse about his spinoff. “That’s why it hasn’t been picked up yet, but nothing is ever dead. Scrapped Game Of Thrones Spinoff Detailed By Writer
Image
Writer Brian Helgeland shares details on 10,000 Ships, his Game of Thrones spinoff that stalled during development. The spinoff would have followed Queen Nymeria as she attempts to find her people a new home, with most of the story taking place on water. House of the Dragon is the only Game of Thrones spinoff to air so far, but A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight is now confirmed to be moving forward.

Brian Helgeland offers up more details about his Game of Thrones spinoff that didn't end up moving forward. First airing on HBO in 2011, Game of Thrones adapts the book series of the same name by author George R.R. Martin. The mainline series concluded in 2019 with season 8, and it was announced not long afterward that a variety of spinoff shows were in production, including one called 10,000 Ships, which would follow Queen Nymeria.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes draws inspiration from Star Wars and Apocalypto
Image
The Maze Runner trilogy director Wes Ball’s addition to the Planet of the Apes franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is set to reach theatres on May 24, 2024 – and in an interview with Empire magazine, Ball revealed that he has drawn inspiration from the likes of Star Wars and Apocalypto when putting together his Apes movie.

According to Empire, Ball is making Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes “an adventure movie, tonally distinct from the darker impulses of the recent Apes trilogy, while hoping to retain what made those films so special.” The director said, “When I first started on it, I said, ‘I feel like Apes needs a little bit of Star Wars’. It’s all still very grounded in reality, but it is essentially a quest narrative. Our main character – the young, impressionable Noa [Owen Teague] – meets characters along the way and becomes awakened as...

10 Best Anime Yu-Gi-Oh! Fans Need to Watch
Image
Yu-Gi-Oh! is an incredibly unique anime, being based almost entirely around a trading card game, but despite this there are a variety of similar shows that fans of the franchise would likely enjoy. These shows of course include a variety of other anime based around card games, but they also include other series that are more similar in other aspects. For whatever reason someone enjoys the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, there should be something on this list to scratch that itch.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of the most iconic anime of the early 2000s. The show follows a young boy named Yugi who unlocks the power of an ancient relic known as the Millennium Puzzle, releasing the spirit of an Ancient Pharaoh. Clone High Trailer: Joan, JFK, Abe, And Cleo Are Thawed Out And Back In School
Image
On May 23, 2023, the streaming service Max will debut a reboot of "Clone High," the Canadian animated series created by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Bill Lawrence that initially ran in 2002 and 2003.

For those unfamiliar with the series, it had something of an odd premise. A shadowy governmental organization called the Secrey Board of Shadowy Figures has found a way to clone notable leaders from throughout human history. Hundreds of them were cloned about 16 years ago, and the teenage versions of the historical figures are now all attending the same all-American high school. The series lead was Abraham Lincoln (Will Forte), who would encounter the usual trials of adolescence. Abe would have an on-again-off-again relationship with Cleopatra (Christa Miller), and was best friends with Joan of Arc (Nicole Sullivan) and Gandhi (Michael McDonald). Abe's primary rival was the womanizing JFK (Chris Miller). Other attendees of Clone High included Martin Luther King, Jr.,...

What Gwyneth Paltrow Said To Terry Sanderson After Ski Crash Trial Victory
Image
Gwyneth Paltrow had some parting words for Terry Sanderson after her victory in their highly publicized ski crash trial.

Et can confirm that Paltrow told the retired optometrist, “I wish you well,” as she walked out of the Utah courtroom Thursday, touching his back in a gesture of good faith on her way out.

After deliberating for just over two and a half hours, the jury found that Paltrow was not liable for the 2016 collision and that Sanderson was at fault. In a unanimous decision, the jury awarded Paltrow $1 in symbolic damages plus attorney fees.

Following the verdict of the case, Paltrow released a statement on her legal win, saying, “I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity. I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Kids Apple And Moses’ Depositions Read Aloud In Ski Crash Trial
Image
Gwyneth Paltrow‘s children are speaking out. On Tuesday, Moses, 16, and Apple, 18, had their past depositions read allowed in court by lawyers, rather than taking the stand in their mom’s ongoing ski accident trial.

Paltrow is being sued by Terry Sanderson, a 76-year-old retired optometrist, over a 2016 ski accident at Deer Valley Resort.

In his deposition, Moses, who was 9 at the time of the incident, noted that while he “did not see the actual collision” he recalled the immediate aftermath of it.

“When I skied over, I heard my mom yelling at the guy,” he said. “She was saying something along the lines of, ‘What the F-word. You just ran into me.'”

Moses additionally denied that he’d called for his mom before the crash, something that Sanderson’s legal team suggested could have caused Paltrow to run into their client.

Then, in Apple’s deposition, she said that,...

Image
In the second week of the Gwyneth Paltrow ski saga, the court heard excerpts from statements given by the actress’ children, Apple and Moses Martin.

Depositions given by Apple and Moses were read by the legal teams on Tuesday. Apple, who was around 11 or 12 at the time of the collision in 2016, said her mother had been “in a state of shock.” The actress’ daughter said she heard a “commotion” on the slope before skiing downhill, and that she had never seen her mother “shaken up like that” following the crash.

John Boyega Says Attack The Block 2's Grown-Up Moses Is 'Pretty Darn Bloody Frickin' Dope'
Image
If you've found yourself missing the fictional "Attack The Block" crew in the years since Joe Cornish's excellent London-set alien invasion movie debuted, you're not alone. In an interview for the latest issue of Total Film, star John Boyega shared some insights about the long-anticipated sequel to the 2011 movie, and revealed that he's thought about the character he played, Moses, often in the intervening years.

"It's a character that I really understand," the "Star Wars" actor explained. "In creating him when I was younger, I really understand where he's at now. It's the character that's stuck with me the longest." The character of fifteen-year-old teen gang leader Moses was then-stage actor Boyega's first-ever role on film, and his breakout role as well. The often-underestimated and racially profiled heart of the film, Moses ends up under arrest in its final scene, but his neighbors know he's really a hero. "Every year I'd think,...

Star Wars Sequel Trilogy Cast & Character Guide
Image
The cast of the Star Wars sequel trilogy includes some of the most renowned actors of their time playing exciting new characters in a galaxy far, far away. When Disney acquired Lucasfilm, the first project the studio fast-tracked into development was a Star Wars sequel trilogy that picks up three decades after Return of the Jedi. The sequel trilogy brought back familiar icons like Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in their beloved roles from the original Star Wars trilogy, but it also cast a bunch of fresh faces like Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver as brand-new characters.

Some of the actors in the Star Wars sequel trilogy were already well-known stars from other franchises before joining the ensemble, like Andy Serkis and Gwendoline Christie, while others were launched to international stardom by their Star Wars roles, like John Boyega and Oscar Isaac. The sequel trilogy introduced some promising new figures to the Star Wars universe,...
