Antonis - Adonis Mitzelos is a Greek composer and guitarist of the Greek art and rock scene, with a parallel presence as a composer of modern classical music. There are dozens of his songs and guitar solos in Greek and foreign discography. He is also a writer, arranger and singer. He founded Greek Rock with the band Termites and the PLJ band in the 1980s and then established modern electric song by unifying the two aesthetically opposite poles of song in the country, making the first collaborations of folk and art rock artists in Greece. An intellectual with deep knowledge and critical ability and a philosopher of music in the broadest sense of the term.
He has occasionally collaborated with important international musicians such as Spyro Gyra band, Earl China Smith (guitar Bob Marley), Elton John, Tom Saumman, Amanda Homi, Scott Ambush, Joel Rosenblatt, Akira Inaba, George Dalaras, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Cesaria Évora, Night Ark, Ara Dinkjian, Arto Tuncboyaciyan, Angelo Branduardi, Paolo Conte, Eiji Kawamura, Toshiro Imaizumi etc.
As a composer and guitarist, he has played in many Ethnic-Jazz Festivals such as the Pirineos Sur Festival in Spain, Hemispheres Festival in Sydney Australia, in France, Belgium, Canada, New Zealand, Tasmania, Denmark, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Israel, the USA, Romania, Germany, Finland, Portugal, etc. Highlights were the concerts at the Sfinks Festival, the WOMAD Festivals and the Montreux jazz festival in Switzerland (Verve night - Miles Davis Hall) with Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Mari Boine and John McLaughlin on July 8, 1999. He has given concerts in historical theaters such as L'Olympia (Paris) and the Dominion Theater (London), the Brooklyn NY Barbican Center (USA), La Cigalle (France), Palau de la Musica Barcelona (Spain), Cirque Royal (Belgium), at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan - (USA), Town Hall in New York and at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston (USA), at Ancient Olympia, at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus and at the ancient theater of Delphi, etc.
He has released 10 personal albums and 30 singles, has released 7 albums, 5 compilations and 2 contributions with Termites and has participated as a composer in approximately 150 other multi-album albums and compilations.
