He also regular teaches children and women's self-defense classes in his free time.

- After graduating from the Actors Studio Drama School, Timothy auditioned for lifetime membership in the Actors Studio. He was accepted on his first attempt. This fulfilled a dream of his, having said, "I knew I wanted to be a member before I really even knew what acting really was, because it seemed like everyone whose work I was drawn to - Brando, Rourke, Pacino, Burstyn - had come from there.".
