9 Things We Need To See In The Wynonna Earp: Vengeance Special
Image
Wynonna Earp: Vengeance needs to answer fans' unanswered questions. The special should delve deeper into key plot points, such as the fate of Eve and the reunion of Doc and Wynonna with their daughter. Wynonna Earp: Vengeance should also explore the impact of Waverly's angelic powers.

The announcement of Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, a 90-minute Tubi-exclusive special, means the beloved series can finally answer some lingering questions — and show a few crucial scenes that didn't make the cut for Wynonna Earp season 4. However, across its 49 episodes, the supernatural Western horror series didn't have time to wrap up the many threads it dangled — partly due to the impact of Covid-19 on the fourth season's production.

This Dark Horse Boba Fett Story Is What the Disney TV Series Should Have Been
Image
In the years before the prequels were released, Boba Fett was the premier bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe. With his mysterious past, fans were free to speculate on the character’s origins before it was revealed he was a clone of his famous bounty hunter father Jango Fett in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. But before the prequels revealed Boba Fett’s backstory, the Expanded Universe presented a different version of the famed bounty hunter - one that the recent Disney+ series should have drawn ideas from.

In the Legends continuity, Boba Fett was often identified as journeyman protector Jaster Mereel, beginning with “The Last One Standing: The Tale of Boba Fett” by Daniel Keys Moran, a story that appeared in the 1996 Star Wars: Tales of the Bounty Hunters anthology. Boba Fett was also a frequent lead character in Star Wars Tales, an anthology title...

Kayti Burt Oct 24, 2019

Den of Geek talked to Wynonna Earp showrunner Emily Andras about Season 4, and what inspires her as a writer.

The Canadian television writer and producer, who showran succubus drama Lost Girl for Seasons 3 and 4 before developing supernatural western Wynonna Earp for Syfy (adapted from Beau Smith's comic book series of the same name), is the heart and soul of this show and community.

Ranked: All The Heirs From Wynonna Earp
Since it premiered on SyFy in 2016, Wynonna Earp has routinely been one of the most innovative and most inclusive supernaturally themed series on television. Based on the Image and Idw comic book series by author Beau Smith, Wynonna Earp follows the titular character, a descendant of the legendary gunslinging hero Wyatt Earp, as she goes about ridding her hometown of Purgatory of the various demons and revenants that live there.

These revenants have a special kind of bone to pick with Wynonna, too, seeing as they're the reincarnations of the various criminals that Wyatt Earp killed during his lawman days. Wynonna is the current Earp heir - the eldest member of the Earp family, in possession of the family gun, Peacemaker. It's the duty of the Earp heir to kill all the revenants that they can, because for decades on end, the criminals Wyatt...

Wynonna Earp Set to Begin Production as Series is Saved!!
Three cheers for Syfy and the Canadian network Space!

Thanks to their ponying up more money for the much-beloved Wynonna Earp, it will rise again!

That's right, the Emily Andras favorite that has spawned Earpers all over the world is now set for a 2020 debut.

The production for Wynonna Earp Season 4 was supposed to start months ago, but a hiccup in the funding from producers Idw Entertainment nearly forced the end of the series.

The delay means they have to round up the cast again for new deals, as their options expired during the downtime.

Happy! and Deadly Class Canceled at Syfy

Given the talent involved and their love for the western-themed supernatural show, I have faith they'll all find a way to get back to business.

If you're wondering why Syfy didn't just forge ahead with the production finances be damned, well, they don't own the rights to the franchise.

‘Wynonna Earp’ Season 4 to Begin Production for 2020 Debut
Wynonna Earp (2016)
“Wynonna Earp” fans can breathe easy.

Variety has learned that production on the show’s fourth season is set to begin with the premiere slated for summer 2020. Syfy had previously commissioned two more seasons of the Canadian import, but Idw Entertainment — which produces the show — had run into financial difficulties and was unable to begin shooting. Cineflix Studios has come aboard to co-produce with Cineflix Rights handling international sales for all four seasons of the series. Idw and SEVEN24 Films continue to produce.

The series airs on Syfy in the U.S. and Space in Canada. The first two seasons are also available on Netflix. The series is based on the Idw Publishing comic book series of the same name created by Beau Smith.

“Syfy has never wavered in its support of ‘Wynonna Earp,’ a unique and important series with some of the most passionate fans anywhere,” Syfy said in a statement.

‘Wynonna Earp’ To Begin Production On Season 4 For 2020 Premiere On Syfy
Beau Smith
The Wynonna Earp fandom can finally rejoice. There will be a fourth season of the popular series based on the Idw comic created by Beau Smith. Idw Entertainment, in partnership with Syfy, Space and Seven24 Films, said today that production on Season 4 is scheduled to begin later this year for premiere in summer 2020 on Syfy in the U.S. and Space in Canada. That will make for a two-year gap between seasons 3 and 4.

The fourth season of Wynonna Earp was delayed by issues with funding at Idw, which earlier in the year said that it was in danger of losing money on the show. Some of the difficulties stemmed from the series losing its international distribution deal with Netflix after the first two seasons.

‘Wynonna Earp’ Future In Limbo As Season 4 Production Is Delayed By Idw
One of Syfy’s series with most devoted following, Wynonna Earp, appears to be in danger despite the July announcement at Comic-Con that it has been renewed by the NBCU cable network for a fourth season.

The series’ fandom was whipped into a frenzy over the last 24-hours after Melanie Scrofano, who plays the title role, replied to a fan question on Twitter that the show was not filming at the moment and they had not been a reason why, indicating that Wynonna Earp should’ve been in production.

Meanwhile, in a since-deleted tweet from Wynonna Earp exec producer/showrunner Emily Andras, sited by comicbook.com, she asked fans if they were ready to fight for the show before tweeting, “don’t f–k with my family.”

As a result, Wynonna Earp started trending worldwide with the battle cry #FightForWynonna.

Jackie Tohn, Alison Brie, Sydelle Noel, Kia Stevens, Betty Gilpin, Kate Nash, Britney Young, and Gayle Rankin in GLOW (2017)
7 New Netflix Shows to Binge in June 2018, and the Best Reasons to Watch
Jackie Tohn, Alison Brie, Sydelle Noel, Kia Stevens, Betty Gilpin, Kate Nash, Britney Young, and Gayle Rankin in GLOW (2017)
1. “Glow” Season 2 (available June 29)

Why Should I Watch? “Glow,” if we dare say so, was the series of the summer in 2017, and it’s poised to reclaim the throne this year. As fun and easy to watch as it is groundbreaking and surprisingly deep, Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch’s sharp take on the real-life ’80s wrestling show came alive for Netflix viewers and ignited wide-ranging discussions across the country. Ring rivalries were established even as long-term friendships were shattered, but through it all, the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling challenged stereotypes as they came together for the better good. It’s an inspiring comedy that doesn’t skimp on the good times. Bring on Season 2.

Bonus Reason: Reviews are embargoed until later this month, but that’s no reason to hold off on the excitement. “Glow” Season 2 still has the unstoppable conviction of Betty Gilpin and the sweeping capacities of Alison Brie.
