Ted Lasso season 3 cut some important scenes for Nate (Nick Mohammed) which ended up hurting his character in the long run. This decision was one of the many season 3 choices that Ted Lasso audiences took issue with. At the end of Ted Lasso season 2, Nate leaves Richmond and goes to West Ham, a decision that left a multitude of interesting possibilities open for his character. However, Ted Lasso season 3 didn't explore Nate's arc properly as he started to regret his big decision.
In an interview with Deadline, Nick Mohammed explained why some of the big season 3 Nate scenes were cut. When asked about why the series didn't include a scene where Nate witnessed Rupert Manion's (Anthony Head) downfall, Mohammed answered, "It's not important because the show isn't about revenge. It's about doing the right thing. It's a lot more positive and optimistic." With Ted Lasso's lighthearted tone, it does make...

Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed explains why season 3 is missing several big scenes. Now that the third installment of the hit Apple TV+ dramedy has wrapped, with speculation about whether it could continue without lead star Jason Sudeikis, there have also been detailed evaluations of why Ted Lasso season 3 was a disappointment in the eyes of some critics and viewers. One of the reasons is how many of the show's biggest moments happened entirely off-screen.
In an interview with Deadline, Nick Mohammed (who plays Nate) was asked why the series didn't include a scene of Nate witnessing the downfall of Rupert (Anthony Head), given the ongoing arc between the two characters. In his response, which is included below, Mohammed takes the opportunity to discuss the fact that the writers were "very deliberate" about what to include and what to leave off-screen. This post contains spoilers for the season 3 finale of "Ted Lasso."
The third season of "Ted Lasso" has been called an endurance test, but for those who endured, the protracted, 660-minute season (and possibly series) is now finally over. It ended with an episode entitled, "So Long, Farewell," and never mind the musical number of that name (inspired by "The Sound of Music"), because I prefer to read that title without the comma, as if even the creators of "Ted Lasso" realized this season was so long.
One of the more polarizing subplots in "Ted Lasso" season 3 was the redemption of Nate Shelley (Nick Mohammed), who made a heel turn at the end of season 2, only to get a girlfriend, turn around on his other heel, and suddenly become a nice guy again. /Film's Ben Pearson called Nate's season 3 arc "a catastrophic storytelling decision from which the show never recovered.

Every great sports story needs a rival.
From iconic films like “Rocky” or even “Dodgeball” to the real-life drama of trades, drafts, and geographic enmity, the opponent is essential to the underdog athlete odyssey. “Ted Lasso”s AFC Richmond is as underdog as it gets as an English football team with a sweet but minimally-experienced American coach — but that was poised to shift in Season 3. After two seasons of “rom-communism” and soft men, Richmond’s own “wonder kid” Nate Shelley (Nick Mohammed) quit in a fit of rage and went to work for West Ham — a juggernaut team run by Richmond owner Rebecca’s (Hannah Waddingham) evil ex Rupert (Anthony Head).
Yet even with the sky-high stakes of league drama and personal history, “Ted Lasso” missed the mark in cultivating a genuinely compelling rivalry. Season 3 flounders for multiple reasons — IndieWire’s Steve Greene wrote that Season 3 put the cast “into...

Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 10There are two episodes left of Season 3 of Ted Lasso, which has been heavily rumored to be the final season of Apple TV+'s beloved dramedy. Hopefully, this is not the case since most of this season's runtime has been squandered on new love interests for Keeley (Juno Temple) and Nate (Nick Mohammed). Keeley's bisexuality, which was previously only hinted at, is explored in her relationship with Jack (Jodi Balfour), but unfortunately, this match up was unhealthy from the start. As for Nate, his relationship with Jade (Edyta Budnik) serves only to further his redemption arc, revealing hardly anything about her as a character and rendering her nothing more than a plot device. Considering this season's lengthy episodes, Ted Lasso wastes time on new relationships rather than meaningfully developing preexisting ones.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Ted Lasso” Season 3, Episode 10.
Season 3 of “Ted Lasso” is reaching its final minutes on the field. Many loose threads got tied up in the tenth episode, including some with fan-favorite characters like Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) and Keeley Jones (Juno Temple). The episode, titled “International Break,” also featured the return of Edwin Akufo (Sam Richardson) to wreak his particular brand of havoc on the footballing world, as well as on Sam Obisanya (Toheeb Jimoh).
Viewers saw as AFC Richmond’s international break from league play followed as Jaime Tartt (Phil Dunster), Colin Hughes (Billy Harris), Moe Bumbercatch (Moe Hashim), Van Damme (Moe Jeudy-Lamour) and Dani Rojas (Cristo Fernández) represented their native countries in international play — Sam was noticeably omitted from participating.

Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 9. Ted Lasso has tackled plenty in Season 3. The storylines that this chapter of the Apple TV show has taken on have been heavy and topical discussions. With so many plot points developing in this season, there’s been a few characters that have seen their story dip into the background. That’s something that naturally happens when a show extends itself in so many directions. With Ted Lasso, this season has had the task of following characters that used to be regularly in the same setting as the club. Nate (Nick Mohammed) is off with another team. Keeley (Juno Temple) has her own business that warrants attention. There’s a lot going on in this season, which isn’t a bad thing, but it does mean someone can fly under the radar. In this case, it’s been the...

[This story contains spoilers for Ted Lasso season three, episode eight: “We’ll Never Have Paris.”]
The eighth episode of Ted Lasso’s third season (and potentially its final season, depending on who you ask) sees several characters stuck inside of sad songs. And while it gets better for most of them, it doesn’t end so happily for everybody.
In “We’ll Never Have Paris,” written by Keeley Hazell and Dylan Marron, three romantic relationships shift through three very different phases. There’s new love in the form of Nate (Nick Mohammed) and Jade (Edyta Budnik). So new that “love” might even be too strong a word for it, but “boyfriend” is the exact right word as Jade makes her feelings for Nate plainly clear. There’s the potential for some restored love in the form of Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and his ex-wife Michelle (Andrea Anders), who comes to London with her son Henry (Gus Turner) and new boyfriend Dr. Jake...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers through Ted Lasso Season 3, Episode 7, “The Strings That Bind Us.”] Is Ted Lasso‘s Nate the Great making a comeback? It would appear so as the former AFC Richmond waterboy turned West Ham United coach, played by Nick Mohammed, stepped out of his comfort zone in the installment, “The Strings That Bind Us.” Rather than getting competitive on the pitch, Nate explored the possibility of romance as he worked up the courage to ask out Jade (Edyta Budnik), the hostess from his favorite restaurant, Taste of Athens. Knowing Nate, it should come as no surprise that the timid man had a few hiccups along the way to reaching his goal. “The latter half of this season is slightly more loaded towards Nate and his journey,” Mohammed tells TV Insider. Along with pursuing Jade, viewers get to see Nate spend some family time with his parents and sister Nicole (Karen Johal), and ultimately it’s ...

Warning: The following contains spoilers from Ted Lasso season 3, episode 4.
The return of Edyta Budnik's Jade in Ted Lasso season 3 further proves that Nate (Nick Mohammed) will never be happy. Ted Lasso has become a pop culture phenomenon and the flagship series for Apple's vaunted streaming platform, Apple TV+. However, Ted Lasso season 3 will be the end of this smash-hit Apple original series, and much remains to be done before the series finale arrives.
Nate seems to be heading for complete failure in Ted Lasso season 3, but knowing Ted Lasso, there is a good chance Nate will be redeemed before the end of the series. There are plenty of unresolved character arcs for Ted Lasso season 3 to deal with before the finale, but Nate's story is one of the most important. Nate's relationship with Ted (Jason Sudeikis) should be repaired, but Nate will have to fail before genuinely understanding his mistakes.

This post contains spoilers for the fourth episode of "Ted Lasso" season 3.
When it comes to charting the course of Nate Shelley's rise to villainy, everything leads back to A Taste of Athens. Nick Mohammed's former AFC Richmond kit man and assistant coach has spent all of season 3 so far managing West Ham United, poring over internet chatter about himself, and generally coming across as simultaneously arrogant and insecure. Nate wasn't always bad, though: he used to be an endearingly awkward part of the show, until a minor storyline about getting a seat at a restaurant revealed his quickly-inflating sense of self-importance.
Nate first visited A Taste of Athens, an apparently not-that-upscale restaurant in Tooting, in the season 2 episode "Rainbow." That time, he approached the hostess stand with a palpable sense of insecurity, as if he'd rather die than actually be acknowledged by the hostess, Jade (Edyta Budnik). At the same time,...

Since Ted Lasso began airing, there have been episodes rated the most passionate, the most pure.
Ted Lasso Season 2 Episode 5 blew them all away.
Those last five minutes were incredible!
This episode paid tribute to many romantic comedies: Notting Hill, Jerry Maguire, When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, and Back to the Future.
