Stop-motion classic ParaNorman will return to theaters for a limited time this Halloween
Image
This Halloween season, we will have the chance to go back to Blithe Hollow, Massachusetts and re-visit 11-year-old Norman Babcock. That’s right, Laika’s stop-motion masterpiece ParaNorman will be back in theaters for a one-week engagement this October.

Laika previously did something similar with its 2024 re-release of Coraline, bringing it to theaters in 2D and RealD 3D, and that was a huge success. Coraline brought in $56 million world-wide during its re-release, making it the top-grossing stop-motion film of all time.

ParaNorman won several awards upon its initial release, and it will be presented in remastered 2D and RealD 3D formats. The re-release kicks off the 20th anniversary celebration of Laika.

ParaNorman’s re-release will feature a new animated short by Laika, titled ParaNorman: The Thrifting, which is directed by Thibault LeClercq (the lead character designer for Laika). Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and Anna Kendrick (Woman of the Hour) lent...

‘ParaNorman’ Returns to Theaters in Remastered RealD 3D this Halloween with New Short Film
Image
ParaNorman is returning to theaters this Halloween, newly remastered for RealD 3D and 2D formats, for a one-week engagement.

Laika’s 2012 stop-motion animated film will open on October 25 via Fathom Entertainment. It will also be released in international markets beginning October 23 from Trafalgar Releasing.

The film will be accompanied by a new, CG-animated short, ParaNorman: The Thrifting, starring Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”) and Anna Kendrick reprising her role of Norman’s older sister, Courtney Babcock.

The short is written by Chris Butler, who wrote and co-directed ParaNorman with Sam Fell, and directed by Laika lead character designer Thibault LeClercq.

“ParaNorman was a breakthrough film for Laika — emotionally rich, visually daring, and proudly weird in all the right ways,” said Laika Chief Marketing & Operations Officer David Burke. “Bringing it back to theaters in stunning remastered 3D, paired with a brand-new short film, is an invitation for audiences to rediscover the heart...

When you purchase through our links, we may earn an affiliate commission.

Zombies have been a thing in cinema for nearly a century now, and since then, we have seen countless films that employ the flesh-eating monsters to tell various kinds of stories. In this sub-genre, we have seen many high and low budget films from the incredibly popular World War Z to the brilliant 28 Days Later, and while these films are every bit worthy of the praise they get, there are some films that get nearly no praise, as the masses still haven’t heard about them. To rectify that, we have compiled a list of the best and most entertaining zombie films that you might not have heard of.

Luigi Mangione Loves 'Sicko' & You Can Watch It Now for Free
Image
Michael Moore is one of the world’s most famous (and infamous) documentary filmmakers, and back in 2007 he embarked on a quest to challenge the US healthcare industry. Sicko was a documentary composed of interviews with both victims and employees of various healthcare agencies across the States, with a focus on the damage that the industry causes on a daily basis.

It should, therefore, be of little surprise that, according to journalist Ken Klippenstein, Sicko was included in the alleged handwritten manifesto of Luigi Mangione, the primary suspect in the killing of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Michael Moore has himself written a response to this, and as a result of the events, has uploaded the entire documentary to YouTube — for free, with no commercials or ads.

It's almost difficult to believe that Moore’s film was released nearly two decades ago, given that almost the exact same issues with...

‘A.P. Bio’ Drops Pandemic-Free Season 3 Trailer And Key Art Ahead Of Peacock Premiere
Image
Peacock released a new trailer and key art for A.P. Bio‘s third season during its panel at the virtual Ctam press tour Monday. The trailer comes ahead of the September 3 premiere of the comedy series from executive producer Lorne Michaels.

When asked about whether or not the current Covid-19 pandemic would materialize in the new season, comedian Patton Oswalt had sarcastic words on the matter.

“You’re going to be seeing a lot of pandemic pratfall and antics. No, we’re not going to, really. Obviously there’s a lot of uncertainty, but, no, we’re not going to work the pandemic into this season. I’m sorry,” said Oswalt.

Creator Mike O’Brien echoed Oswalt’s sentiments and even recounted a story where his writing staff brushed closely with producing an eerie flu-related episode.

“There’s a recurring pitch from the writers long before we thought pandemics...

Tucker Albrizzi & Danny Trejo in Coming-of-Age Comedy 'Bully' Trailer
"It gets easier... But it ain't ever gunna be easy." An official trailer has arrived online for an indie coming-of-age comedy titled Bully, the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Santino Campanelli. This premiered at the Dances With Films Festival last year, but hasn't played anywhere else yet - and it's pretty clear why as there's not much here. Bully is about a heavy-set high school kid named Jimmy who is constantly tormented by the resident school bully and his cronies. But after he meets a boxer, he starts training and learns how to fight back. Truly the best way to fight bullies is to literally fight them! Right?! Starring Tucker Albrizzi as Jimmy, along with Danny Trejo, Ron Canada, Vincent Pastore, Jack Difalco, Elanna White, and Jay Lee. Despite the good intentions, it looks pretty bad and impressively derivative. Check it out anyway. Here's the full-length trailer (+ official poster) for Santino Campanelli's Bully,...

It seems the Peacock Network really wants to impress the College Board. NBC has renewed its AP Bio TV show for a second season. The mid-season replacement comedy has really struggled in the ratings. ‘A.P. Bio’ Renewed For Season 2 By NBC
NBC has ordered a second season of its new midseason comedy series A.P.Bio, executive produced by Seth Meyers.

A.P. Bio was a big priority for NBC this midseason. The single-camera comedy got a major push with two special previews, including one after the Closing Ceremony of the PyeongChang Olympics. The series also got a digital promotional run ahead of its official premiere, which netted respectable sampling.

The high school comedy starring Glenn Howerton has not been a breakout. A.P. Bio is averaging a modest 1.2 rating in 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall in L+7 . But comedies are usually slow at the start and need time to grow. Plus, A.P. Bio has been relatively well received by critics, and it has been attracting highly educated audiences — the series indexes at a 149 among adults 18-49 with four or more years of college to rank #3 among primetime series on the Big 4 networks.

‘AP Bio’ Renewed, Comedies Produced by Michael Schur, Amy Poehler Get Series Orders From NBC
“A.P. Bio” — and two new shows — just made the grade at NBC.

The Glenn Howerton-led series has been picked up for a Season 2 by the Peacock, which is also granting series orders to a pair of comedy pilots from executive producers (and network faves) Michael Schur and Amy Poehler.

Hailing from “The Good Place” producers Schur and David Miner and led by star Natalie Morales, NBC describes “Abby’s” as a hilariously aspirational new comedy about the best bar in San Diego, home to good prices, great company and, of course, Abby. This unlicensed, makeshift bar nestled in her backyard as the opposite of everything annoying about today’s party scene. There are rules at Abby’s: no cell phones (not even to “look something up”), earning a seat at the bar takes time and losing a challenge means drinking a limey, sugary “not-beer” drink. As the oddball cast of regulars will tell you, hanging out at Abby’s is a coveted honor. But once you’re in, you’re family.

Along with lead Morales, the cast includes Nelson Franklin, Kimia Behpoornia, Jessica Chaffin, Leonard Ouzts and Neil Flynn.

Schur and Miner are executive produce along with Josh Malmuth, who penned the script for the multi-cam (shot outside in front of a live audience). Pamela Fryman is directing and also executive producing the pilot. “Abby’s” comes from Universal Television, Fremulon and 3 Arts Entertainment.

The Poheler-produced project, “I Feel Bad,” centers around Emet (Sarayu Blue), the perfect mom, boss, wife, friend and daughter. Ok, according to the logline, she’s not perfect. In fact, she’s just figuring it out like the rest of us. Sure, she feels bad when she has a sexy dream about someone other than her husband, or when she pretends not to know her kids when they misbehave in public, or when she uses her staff to help solve personal problems. But that’s Ok, right? Nobody can have it all and do it perfectly. From executive producer Amy Poehler comes a modern comedy about being perfectly Ok with being imperfect.

Other cast members include Paul Adelstein, Aisling Bea, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton and James Buckley.

Aseem Batra will write and executive produce the comedy, with Julie Anne Robinson directing and executive producing the pilot. Poehler, Dave Becky and Josh Maurer also executive produce. The series hails from Universal Television, Paper Kite Productions, CannyLads Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment.

As for newly-renewed “A.P. Bio,” its first season averaged a 1.2 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and 3.7 million total viewers in live-plus-seven-days of delayed viewing data from Nielsen.

“A.P. Bio” is written and executive produced by Mike O’Brien. Seth Meyers, Mike Shoemaker, Andrew Singer and Lorne Michaels also serve as executive producers. The series is backed by Universal Television, Broadway Video and Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions.

Bonkers Monster Trucks Trailer Is Here To Remind You The Movie Is Still A Thing
If even half the reports coming out about Monster Trucks are true, it’s safe to say that Paramount’s action movie endured a torrid time during development.

Initially on course to race into theaters late next month, a delay to production coupled with a “a programming impairment charge” led Paramount to scale back the movie’s box office projections, as it quietly braces for a reported $115 million loss. That’s fairly damning for a movie that’s still to hit theaters, and at least based on today’s all-new trailer, it looks like Monster Trucks will live or die depending on how well it resonates with kids.

Directed by Ice Age helmer Chris Wedge, the wildly over-the-top actioner stars Lucas Till as Tripp, a high school senior who soon comes into owning an actual monster truck. Also starring Jane Levy, Rob Lowe, Amy Ryan, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi,...

Another Fun Trailer for Paramount's Crazy Live-Action 'Monster Trucks'
"Meet Creech." Paramount has debuted a brand new trailer (see the first trailer) for the crazy live-action Monster Trucks movie, directed by Chris Wedge, who worked on Ice Age and Robots before making this leap into live-action. You've probably heard about this one because Paramount is bracing to lose millions of dollars making this, even though it is still two months out from release. I honestly don't think it looks that bad, there's an edge to it that seems like it's going to be fun - perhaps even moreso than the Transformers movies. This stars Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon. Fire it up and meet a monster. Here's the second official trailer (+ poster) for Chris Wedge's Monster Trucks, direct from YouTube: Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into,...

Monster Trucks Trailer #2 Introduces Creech the Friendly Alien
Danny Glover, Rob Lowe, Thomas Lennon, Lucas Till, and Jane Levy in Monster Trucks (2016)
It's been more than five months since the first trailer for Paramount's Monster Trucks surfaced, but we haven't seen anything from this upcoming movie since then. With the January 13, 2017 release date just a few months away, the studio has unveiled the second trailer, which gives us a better look at this alien creature, appropriately named "Creech." We also have a new poster for Monster Trucks, showcasing the octopus-like alien in action.

While we still have several months until this hits theaters, a report surfaced in September that claimed Monster Trucks would be a box office bomb. That report explained that Paramount Pictures is expecting the movie to tank, with the studio posting a $115 million "programming impairment charge," which is "related to the expected performance of an unreleased film," which sources have claimed is Monster Trucks. The studio hasn't confirmed what the budget on Monster Trucks is, but it seems clear...

New Trailer for Monster Trucks – A Film Based on an Idea from a 4-Year-Old Kid
Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for Nickelodeon's strange looking family adventure film Monster Trucks. This is a movie where the main idea is that a big alien-type creature can live inside and somehow power old trucks. It's an absolutely ridiculous concept, but it could prove to be a fun movie. Here's the synopsis:

Looking for any way to get away from the life and town he was born into, Tripp (Lucas Till), a high school senior, builds a Monster Truck from bits and pieces of scrapped cars. After an accident at a nearby oil-drilling site displaces a strange and subterranean creature with a taste and a talent for speed, Tripp may have just found the key to getting out of town and a most unlikely friend.

New Trailer For Paramount’s Write-Off ‘Monster Trucks’ Makes You Wonder Why They’re Releasing It At All
With Paramount‘s accounting department already steeling themselves for the reported $115 million loss they’re going to take on “Monster Trucks,” it kinda makes you wonder why they’re going through the whole charade of cutting trailers and releasing the movie. But I guess there are some contractual obligations to be met. At any rate, a new trailer for the film is here, and yes, it still looks terrible.

Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon will all be eager to bury this on their CV, with the movie following a young man and the rubbery creature who becomes his friend, and gets him out of various spots of trouble.

Must Watch: First Trailer for Crazy Live-Action 'Monster Trucks' Movie
"Aren't you curious about where it came from?" Paramount has unleashed the first fun trailer for the crazy live-action Monster Trucks movie, directed by Chris Wedge, who worked on Ice Age and Robots before making this leap into live-action. The concept is kind of a mash-up between Transformers and Cars, with "monster trucks" that come to life as monsters, which seem to look like sharks. The ensemble cast includes Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon. This looks surprisingly kind of awesome, I'm actually excited to check it out now. As wacky as it seems, there's an edge to it that makes it quite appealing. The First Trailer For Monster Trucks Has Arrived
Paramount Pictures has just unveiled the first trailer and photo for Monster Trucks, a family-friendly adventure about a kid (Lucas Till) who discovers that a weird, alien-like, subterranean creature can somehow power his cobbled-together truck. It feels a lot like someone watched the scenes of Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox interacting with Bumblebee in the first live-action Transformers movie and just said, "Hey, let's do that again." Paramount sure does love movies about kids and their cars.

This does not look like my particular cup of tea, but maybe some of you will react differently. Chris Wedge directs, and the film stars Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon.

The Chris Wedge-directed film is set to open on January 13th and stars Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley and Thomas Lennon.

Shot right about two years ago in British Columbia, the story follows an automotively-inclined teen named Tripp (till) as he makes a connection with a mysterious creature - one who has the ability to control trucks remotely.
