From Father to Grandfather: Reckell Reflects on Days Legacy and Youthful Talent
Image
What makes Peter Reckell’s recent return to Days of Our Lives different is that his character, Bo, was no longer in a coma or believed to be dead. He was alive and well and traveling the world with his wife, Hope. Before Bo fully returned to the land of the living, he met his late son, Zack, who told him to return when his time had finally come. Reckell opened up about what he thought of the young actors Bo got to connect with.

He Had High Praise for New Co-stars

Reckell, who’s been open about wanting to return full-time to the show, spoke with Soap Opera Digest, which noted that when Bo and Ciara finally reconnected, he got to share scenes for the first time with Victoria Konefal. He also got to act opposite Days newcomer, Brandon Butler, who played Zack. Reckell remarked, “The casting people are bringing these awesome actors in.

Marlena Gives Permission for John to Rest in the June 2 Days of Our Lives
Image
John Black is gone. In the tough, emotional, and utterly heartbreaking June 2 episode of Days of Our Lives, a suffering John succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, Bo returned to Hope and his family.

Goodbye, John Black

A lot of times, a person’s health takes a turn for the better right before the end. That’s what happened to John. He was breathing fine, talking when he could, and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) had high hopes that John would fully recover. Unfortunately, John’s health didn’t remain stable for long. Suddenly, his health took a turn, forcing Marlena (Deidre Hall) to give the love of her life permission to go.

The entire episode featured more flashbacks. Marlena remembered her husband’s many identities (even when they thought he was Stefano) and little Belle and Brady. Steve (Stephen Nichols) reflected on the beginnings of the Black Patch Detective Agency. There...

Dool Spoilers: Bo’s Close Call-Zack Sends Him Home From Heaven’s Gates?
Image
Days of Our Lives spoilers and rumors reveal Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) may have a close call and wind up right at Heaven’s gates before the experimental medicine starts to work.

This takes place the same day John Black (Drake Hogestyn) dies on the show-one could think John sends Bo back, but instead he reunites with Zack Brady (Brandon Butler).

The Late Drake Hogestyn’s Substitute For John’s Scenes Is Allan Wayne Anderson

John dies and Bo reunites with Zack on Monday, June 2 with John’s scenes having been played by a substitute-not A Recast-named Allan Wayne Anderson.

That’s an important distinction to make, because no one could ever replace Drake Hogestyn as a recast.

John shielded the experimental medicine, every single dose, with his body during an explosion in a meth lab where the medicine had been taken.

It would be a terrible script to have...

Warning: Spoilers for Hysteria!

Released in the midst of spooky season, Peacocks Hysteria! dropped all of its eight episodes on the platform simultaneously, which means viewers didnt have to wait for the shows finale. Set during the height of the Satanic panic that seemingly swept America in the 1980s, the show follows the residents of Happy Hollow as their fears of the occult and Satanic influences evoke mass hysteria in their quaint little town. At the heart of the series is a heavy metal band who propel themselves to relevance in the wake of the ritualistic murder of the towns beloved varsity quarterback, Ryan (Brandon Butler).

However, unbeknownst to nearly everyone in Happy Hollow, Ryans death was actually the result of an asthma attack. It was merely staged to look like a ritualistic killing to cover up the truth as to why he was kidnapped alongside Faith (Nikki Hahn) and...

Image
Jake Bongiovi, budding actor and son of rocker Jon Bon Jovi, is one of three young stars who have joined the cast of the comedy “Rockbottom,” Variety can report exclusively.

Bongiovi, a considerable social media presence and native to the music space, will join McKaley Miller (“Ma”) and Teala Dunn (“Crush”) in the feature project from writer-director and SFX makeup guru Todd Tucker (“The Terror of Hallow’s Eve”). The actors will orbit lead Tom Everett Scott.

Tucker’s script, co-written with Greg Zekowski, follows 1980s hair metal band CougarSnake, whose career ended just as it was starting due to clashes over the direction of the group. Outkast have released a new animated video for “Two Dope Boyz (in a Cadillac),” ahead of the 25th-anniversary reissue of their album, ATLiens.

At one point, the pair even (fittingly) find themselves transported to the moon, and the video ends with a big, eye-popping explosion for good measure.

Outkast also announced that they’re prepping an interactive ATLiens video game. Produced...

In rock, supergroup status is relative. Nineties-era Kansas City trio the Farewell Bend didn’t exactly boast the starry pedigree of a Traveling Wilburys, or even a Minuteflag. But for fans of the members’ prior projects — Boys Life and Giants Chair, two like-minded Kc outfits that each found unique ways of combining post-hardcore crunch with heartfelt vulnerability — their first and only LP, 1998’s In Passing, represented a welcome opportunity to hear how a “What if …?” inter-band collaboration might play out.

Out of print for years, In Passing is back out...
