Quantum Leap Recap: Why Did Ben Make That Unauthorized Jump? — Plus, Grade the Midseason Finale
Image
This week’s Quantum Leap midseason finale took on abusive youth camps as Ben found himself in the body of a 16-year-old named Benjamin Winters.

He and three other “troubled” teens stole a car to escape Sierra Youth Academy, modeled after real-life institutions like Provo Canyon School (which Paris Hilton attended; she detailed the emotional and physical abuse she suffered there in her documentary This Is Paris).

Castle Round Table: "Always"
Wow. Just... wow.

Following a terrific Castle season finale, we're back with a special edition of the TV Fanatic Round Table, one that includes our friends at CastleTV.net.

They gather around below - along with Courtney Morrison, Jim Garner, Chandel Charles and Christine Orlando - to gush over their favorite scenes, debate the most powerful moments and decide where they'd like to see Castle and Beckett go next.

-------------------------------------------

What was your favorite scene?

Courtney: It’s the obvious choice, but the only choice. Beckett and Castle finally hooked up! It was hot, intense, and everything I had been waiting for. Plus, how amazing did Beckett look all soaked from the rain!

Jim: There were so many good scenes. But I have to go with Kate kissing Rick and her confession that he was all she could think of when she was about to die. Apparently all she needed...

The Walking Dead Review: Gunfight at the Zombie Corral
What did The Walking Dead teach us, for what seems like the hundredth time? Never. Leave. The Farm. It only leads to potential death.

Realistically, the group won't take the advice and for the sake of the show and this episode it provided for a fantastic hour of television. "Triggerfinger" brought back to life the intensity and pulse-pounding thrills that seemed to have taken a nap on much of the early half of season 2.

The best moments revolved around Rick, Glenn and Hershel penned up in the bar after killing Tony and Dave. Not only was there finally some action (man, can Hershel run and shoot! Who knew?), but the pacing of tension during those scenes was top notch. There was a real sense of waiting for something bad to happen, waiting for something to pop out and waiting to see how Rick and the two would escape.

I enjoyed...

The Walking Dead – “Nebraska” – Recap
When you come back after a long break in between new episodes, as The Walking Dead has done, you run the risk of losing any momentum built up. Twd left things on a truly harrowing note, with all peace on Hershel’s farm having broken down, the reveal of Sophia’s zombification and subsequent death at Rick’s hand. With a cliffhanger like that, how do you pick things up again? How do you keep the same feeling present despite an 11-week gap?

Tdw manages it by focusing on that final action of putting a bullet in Sophia’s brain. We’re focused on Rick’s gun, racking to see Rick, the hardship of his decision still weighing on his face. Everyone is silent except for Carol. The sounds of her sobs bring us pack into the tragedy of this event. It’s a strong opening. Everyone is internally on completely different levels,...

Below the interview, in which Lincoln shares the essentials of his role - his trusty Colt Python and a secret that he can't even tell his wife - you'll find a teaser trailer and sneak peek of next week's episode, entitled "Triggerfinger", in which Andrea (Laurie Holden) critiques Shane’s (Jon Bernthal) methods of getting what he wants.

Once you're done reading and watching, you'll want to visit the official "The Walking Dead" page on AMCtv.com, where you'll find highlights of Episode 2.08, "Nebraska", along with an "inside look" at the ep in which the cast and crew explore how their characters...

The Walking Dead: Q&A with Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes)
With the return of The Walking Dead Season 2, AMC continues their Q&A feature by talking with Andrew Lincoln. Topics covered include the bar scene in Nebraska, filming a scene with Sophia, and Dr. Jenner’s secret. Keep an eye out later today for our exclusive Q&A with Aaron Munoz, who guest starred in last night’s episode.

**Spoiler Warning** “ Q: What was the bar scene like in Episode 8?

A: That was an incredible scene! We were so lucky to get such cracking actors. And we didn’t play the problem, we just played the fact that this is a reunion of human beings. The tension is inherent in the fact that they encounter this other group.

Q: Rick’s presence at the farm has been described as antagonistic this season. Do you ever feel like you’re a bad guy on your own show?

A: Yeah, I think I do a bit.

TV Review: The Walking Dead 2.8, “Nebraska” Mid-Season Premiere
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

We’ve all been clamoring for it, but it’s finally here. After one of the most badass climaxes in recent memory The Walking Dead is back. Unfortunately, “Nebraska” suffers from the same problems it has had all season.

The episode picks up right where it left off, though I can’t say I didn’t expect it. There was a lot set-up in the mid-season finale. (Spoilers). Rick still represents this angelic good, and Shane an ominous evil. Hershel is still crazy, he’s just hiding it worse. Daryl’s still a conflicted loner, Dale’s still suspicious and Lori is still a complete idiot.

The Walking Dead has always had a major problem with overindulgence in long monologues and explicit romantic idealism. The world is crumbling all around these characters, and rather then show it, they insist on spelling it out, one long conversation after another.

Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead (2010)
‘The Walking Dead,’ Season 2, Episode 8, ‘Nebraska’: TV Recap
Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead (2010)
AMC A scene from “The Walking Dead.”

The second half of the second season picks up exactly where we left off back in November: the God-fearing Greene family had a barn full of zombies they were keeping in the hopes of a miracle cure, and those zombies were put down in a hail of bullets after Shane let them loose. It’s time to deal with the fallout in the painfully incremental style for which “The Walking Dead” has become famous.

'Walking Dead' Recap: 'Save The Last One'
From the very beginning, "The Walking Dead" has never been shy about making changes and adjustments from the comics penned by Robert Kirkman. Some characters, like Donna and Allen, do not exist in the show at all, while others — Daryl Dixon, for example — are entirely new. Then there are folks like Shane, a man who survives only six issues in the comics but has a huge, prominent role on the show.

It was only a matter of time, then, that someone with some comic book staying power would get killed off early. Major spoilers after the jump.

Shane killing Otis was a shock for several reasons. For one, just the action itself: that Shane, who we already knew was teetering on the edge of stability, would push himself so far beyond the point of conventional humanity to achieve what he perceived to be a higher goal. In his eyes, shooting...

Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans in Little Man (2006)
'The Killing' Clue Tracker: The detectives get 'Stonewalled,' but the drama scores a breakthrough
Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans in Little Man (2006)
“Stonewalled” was about playing dirty and justifying it with righteousness. Mayoral candidate Darren Richmond finally decided to sling mud at his immoral and ruthlessly slimy opponent. Detective Linden broke the rules of proper police work so she could examine a piece of evidence that could bringer her closer to finding Rosie Larsen’s killer. Jack nearly subverted Linden’s work with a foolish, hurtful choice, just to awaken his mother to her own foolish, hurtful choices. Yes, all’s fair in love and political warfare. Or so they say. But what if you lose sight of what’s right in the process?...

Episode Recap: CSI: Miami - 8.02: "Hostile Takeover"
Calleigh (Emily Procter) hasn't taken a personal day to be with Delko (Adam Rodriguez) as the department lawyer doesn't want them to see each other, whilst they investigate the case from last season. Delko had to be mentioned here as he's not in this episode and was meant to leave, but stuck around. Calleigh sounds so callous when she tells Natalia (Eva Larue) that she did shoot at Delko and she's meant to have feelings for the guy. She was so non-chalant. Probably a line added in from last episode when she said, in the flashback, that she doesn't socialize with her co-workers. That line she crossed, but here makes it appear as if she doesn't mix her work and personal lives. She states, coldly, that Delko was a suspect at an active crime scene. Jesse (Eddie Cibrian) returns in the nick of time to get into the thick of it all.

The Walking Dead S1E4 review
"Vatos"

After losing Merle on the roof of the department store, the guys decide to go ahead with rest of their plan and retrieve their bag of guns. But just as Glenn grabs the bag there's an altercation with a gang of survivors, the vatos from the title, and Glenn gets kidnapped. Sheriff Rick, T-Dog and Darryl stand off against the gang, only to find out that the apparent gang of toughs is actually a gang of rest-home employees protecting the helpless elderly. Back at camp, Shane's authority is challenged again, this time by Jim who seems to be losing it, but who may actually be a prophet. Zombies attack and get Ed the wife beater first (yay?) and Amy second (boo! very boo!) Worst. Birthday. Ever.

Back on the roof with Merle's dead hand for company, they guys decide to head out and rescue the bag of guns before they go and get Merle.

E3 2010: 'Splatterhouse' Video Blowout!
Eric Lee Huffman
Ok, anyone who reads this site with any frequency knows my undying love for Splatterhouse, and my heated anticipation for its reboot due out this fall.  Well, what better event than E3 for Namco to show us more of the upcoming reimagining of the story of a boy and his sentient mask?  More after the break! Thanks to our sister site G4, we've got three different videos for you to choose from, including a cinematic trailer and two gameplay montages.  The story trailer shows us that Namco ain't messing around with the thin thread of story: Rick still needs to rescue his girlfriend from the halls of a mad scientist's mansion with the help of the Terror Mask, although the tone for this new game is decidedly...
