Exclusive: Marcello Hernandez has signed with Lbi Entertainment.

Hernandez is a Cuban/Dominican stand-up comedian, writer, and actor who currently performs as a featured player on Saturday Night Live. On SNL he has been featured on Weekend Update and some of the more memorable recent sketches with people such as Pedro Pascal, Bad Bunny, Ana de Armas and Jason Momoa.

Doing stand-up since he was 18 years old, he has opened for headliners such as Jo Koy, Dave Chappelle, Tim Dillon, Mark Viera, and Gilbert Gottfried. In 2020, he became a host and creative director for @onlyindade, a Miami-based account with over one million followers. In 2022 he was selected as a Just For Laughs New Face of Comedy. Starting in 2023 he can be seen in commercial campaigns for T Mobile and Nissan.

At the end of the 47th season of "Saturday Night Live" this past spring, the late-night sketch comedy show lost a quartet of comedians who decided to leave the series. Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson all bid farewell to the series in the season finale, but the departures didn't end there. Just a couple weeks ago, leading up to the 48th season premiere of "SNL," it was announced that repertory cast members Alex Moffat and Melissa Villaseñor would also be departing the show after six years, along with featured player Aristotle Athari, who lasted just a single season on the series.

All those cast members moving on from "SNL" left plenty of gaps to fill, even in an ensemble that's still pretty sizeable, but executive producer Lorne Michaels has some new blood who will be joining the cast as the latest round of featured players. Who are they?...

“Saturday Night Live” is trying to replenish its ranks after many of its best-known cast members have signaled they intend to leave the show.

The venerable NBC late-night program has enlisted four new featured players for its 48th season, a move that will lend some ballast to the cast after mainstays like Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant decided to leave. In many years, “”Saturday Night Live”” taps two or three new players per season, so four is more than the show typically brings on board.

The four new featured players include Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker. Hernandez, who bills himself as a writer, comedian and producer, is a Cuban-Dominican stand-up who has opened for Tim Dillon, Jim Breuer, Mark Viera, Gilbert Gottfried and others. Exclusive: HBO Latino is teaming with the New York Latino Film Festival (Nylff), once again for the second annual national Latino Stand-Up Comedy Competition. The search for the best Latino stand-up comedians around the country was announced today by 2019 winners Mark Viera and Alex Carabaño via the video above — with the help of Entre Nos’ best comedians Gina Brillón and Orlando Leyba. If you think you have the comedy chops, submissions for the competition open today and will be accepted through November 13.

The competition is designed to support emerging talent and increase awareness and representation of Latino voices in the comedy industry. The top five comedians will perform, and a winner will be chosen at a virtual event in early December which will be hosted by Viera.

If they’d waited even one more week, the Ha Comedy Festival would have been another casualty of coronavirus.

Producers of the three-day event held in San Antonio, Texas in late February, have been counting their blessings as they put the finishing touches on an hourlong special derived that premieres today on HBO Max.

“Ha Comedy Festival: The Art of Comedy” features short sets from comedians Gina Brillon, David del Rosario, Carmen Lynch, Monique Marvez, Pedro Salinas, Jesus Trejo and Mark Viera. Anjelah Johnson serves as emcee for the hour, which includes guest appearances from actors Eugenio Derbez, Eva Longoria and Danny Trejo.

The festival and the HBO Max special are important building blocks for New Cadence Productions, the cotent venture launched last year by veteran writer-producer Jeff Valdez and several partners, including former U.S. West CEO Sol Trujillo.

The newly launched Ha comedy festival backed by WarnerMedia and New Cadence Productions has set its dates, talent lineup and plans for a special to air on HBO Max.

The festival, to be held Feb. 21-23 in San Antonio, Texas, is designed as a showcase for Latinx comedians. It’s part of a first-look development pact that New Cadence signed with WarnerMedia last year. The hope is that the festival will turn into a source of comedy programming for HBO Max and other WarnerMedia outlets.

Rising stars Mark Viera, Gina Brillon, Carmen Lynch, Carlos Alazraqui, Monique Marvez and Jesus Trejo are set to appear in the HBO Max special, to be recorded on the final night of the festival. Anjelah Johnson will host.

Fresh off her own live stand up tour, the talkshow host is launching Wendy Williams & Friends Presents: For The Record. The special is being pitched to premium networks and streaming platforms next week.

The 90-minute special will feature The Wendy Williams Show host’s take on a raft of topics, including her own life and the tabloid headlines that it’s drawn.
