After entertaining audiences in Season 3 of Reacher as Susan Duffy, Sonya Cassidy is taking on another widely appreciated property. During the flurry of news revealed at the 2025 San Diego Comic Con, Men’s Journal reported that the actor was added to the cast of a new Star Trek venture. Cassidy will join the audio drama series, simply titled Star Trek: Khan. She was cast as Dr. Rosalind Lear, who investigates logs about the titular villain who has plagued the world of Star Trek since its inception.

The Khan in the audio drama is, of course, none other than Khan Noonien Singh, who has appeared in Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, and even had the J.J. Abrams treatment in Into Darkness. In this version, Khan will be portrayed by Lost’s own Naveen Andrews, who gained fan devotion while playing Oceanic survivor Sayid Jarrah.

During a Star Trek panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 26, the official trailer and entire voice cast of Khan were revealed. Trek fans can anticipate the return of two fan-favorite characters in Star Trek: Khan when it premieres on Sept. 8.

Star Trek‘s most notorious villain is returning in podcast form, and fans at Comic-Con were treated to a sneak peek and more new details about the scripted audio series.

During Saturday’s Star Trek universe presentation in Hall H, the trailer and key art for Star Trek: Kahn were unveiled, along with a Sept. 8 premiere date (new episodes following on Mondays) in celebration of Star Trek Day and additional casting announcements, including franchise veterans George Takei and Tim Russ.

After Naveen Andrews and Wrenn Schmidt were cast as the titular Khan Noonien Singh and Lieutenant Marla McGivers, the presentation revealed Sonya Cassidy will play Dr. Rosalind Lear, with Russ reprising his Star Trek: Voyager role as Ensign Tuvok and the Takei back as Captain Sulu.

Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette has joined the cast of “Reacher” Season 4 in a recasting.

He is set to play a new character, small-town policeman Jacob Merrick, in the Prime Video series, taking over for Jay Baruchel, who exited the series for personal reasons, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap. The news comes just weeks after Baruchel’s casting in the new season was announced.

Rodriguez-Marquette will star opposite Alan Ritchson, who plays the titular Jack Reacher, a former military policeman who solves crimes and paves out his own brand of street justice. He also joins cast members Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart and Olivier Richter.

Rodriguez-Marquette is best known for appearing as Chris Lucado in “Barry,” and can also be seen in “Just Friends,” “The Girl Next Door,” “Magnum P.I.,” “Sour Party,” “Rzr” and “The Fugitive.”

Be brutally honest if you’re an action TV buff: Doesn’t Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher feel like a beefed-up stars-and-stripes version of James Bond? Granted, one’s a retired US Army vet turned freelancer and the other’s a literal MI6 agent.

But there are way too many binding points against differences. And the one that sticks out over everything else is how both characters effortlessly tune out of any lasting romantic involvement by the time their respective credits roll through. It’s almost as if emotional detachment is part of their job description.

Sure, that might’ve felt right back in the ’90s. But in 2025? A hard no. Today’s world of inclusivity demands a lot more from our men, especially considering how well-written many of these female-led characters are on the other side of the gender column.

Willa Fitzgerald’s Roscoe Conklin was a breakout favorite in Reacher Season 1, thanks to her no-nonsense charisma and genuine chemistry with Alan Ritchson’s Don't Call Me Jack Reacher. But despite viewers holding out hope that she’d return, especially after Reacher Season 2 gave us a Finlay cameo and even name-dropped Roscoe, all signs now point to her absence being permanent — and this time, the confirmation comes straight from the top. We are disappointed.

Speaking to Forbes, Lee Child, the author behind the Jack Reacher novels, admitted that while he becomes emotionally attached to many of the women he writes — “I fall hopelessly in love with them,” he said — the structure of the books demands that they rarely stick around. “It’s always bittersweet,” Child explained, “but it works.” That logic, while understandable, might be frustrating for fans who saw potential in a deeper, long-term arc between Reacher and Roscoe.

Prime Video subscribers can't get enough of Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher. Amazon has just revealed that Season 3 of Reacher debuted to its largest audience yet.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Reacher Season 3 brought in 54.6 million viewers worldwide in the 19 days after its Feb. 20 premiere, according to internal figures from Amazon. This is reportedly a slight uptick from Season 2 over the same amount of time, meaning that Reacher Season 3 is now the biggest returning series in Prime Video's history. With nine months left in 2025, it remains to be seen if Reacher Season 3 will rank as the #1 title on the streamer across all movies and series worldwide for the year, a title that Season 2 received for 2023.

With only a couple more episodes to go until the Season 3 finale, Reacher is entering the home stretch and things are definitely heating up. After last week’s monumental cliffhanger, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) finally comes face to face with Julius McCabe. Despite my sneaking suspicions, it turns out that McCabe and Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) are indeed the same person. Whomp, whomp.

I’m a little disappointed that I was wrong, but here we are. While there was no surprise with Season 3’s villain, there was still a slight twist. Despite being shot off the edge of a cliff and falling into an icy river below, Quinn seemingly has no recollection of Reacher from all those years ago. I guess he was telling the truth about his retrograde amnesia during his time in the hospital. Who would have thought?

Jack Reacher doesn't need to prove himself as a hero at this point. Across 29 books and what is now almost three seasons of Prime Video's "Reacher" series, the character has proven he is every bit the archetypal American action hero, dispatching armies of enemies with ease and weathering the kind of beatings that would snuff out lesser heroes. He's an itinerant former military policeman with an unwavering commitment to justice and chivalry who is always one step ahead of those that dare to cross him. Fans know the formula and Reacher delivers, time and time again.

But there's no doubt this particular American hero is indebted to those that came before him. While he clearly shares a lot in common with other contemporary characters, such as the similarly unstoppable John Wick, he is also quite clearly the modern equivalent of the muscle-bound...

Alan Ritchson’s casting in the titular role in Prime Video’s Reacher was a big win for book readers. They have been strongly opposing the casting of Tom Cruise in the role in the two Jack Reacher films, which did decently well at the box office. Ritchson works really hard to maintain the huge and scary physique of Reacher. He wasn’t so happy when fans still questioned his casting.

Ritchson even received praise from the author of the Jack Reacher novels, Lee Child. According to Child, Ritchson was born to play the former military investigator-turned-vagabond. The actor also revealed that he almost lost the role to another actor before the studio gave him another chance.

After last week’s heart-wrenching episode, it was a relief to watch the kind of episode that has become indicative of Prime Video’s Reacher. Of course, there were still a couple of sad and untimely deaths this week, but viewers weren’t as invested in those characters, nor was Reacher (Alan Ritchson). That isn’t to say their demise wasn’t unfortunate or somber. Their fate simply didn’t emotionally linger in the way Dominique Kohl’s (Mariah Robinson) death was meant to in Episode 4. Nevertheless, the death of certain characters in the newest episode had some pretty serious consequences for Reacher and his operation with Agent Duffy (Sonya Cassidy).

Last week’s cliffhanger left Duffy and Agent Villanueva (Roberto Montesinos) on the verge of discovery and death. After tracking Angel Doll’s (Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz) laptop to their location, McCabe’s people began shooting.

For those watching Reacher Season 3, it's pretty hard not to be immediately captivated by Sonya Cassidy's performance as DEA Agent Susan Duffy. From the moment she enters the frame, she exudes the no-nonsense, tough-as-nails energy that defines a great Reacher character—sharp, unrelenting, and not afraid to get her hands dirty. Just the kind of back-up a giant slab of beef needs when he's working undercover in a criminal enterprise. For Reacher author Lee Child, seeing Cassidy bring Susan Duffy to life was a surreal experience. In an interview with Forbes, he admitted that writing Duffy in Persuader—the novel on which Season 3 is based—was both thrilling and bittersweet, given how attached he became.

With the third season of Reacher, Alan Ritchson once again proves why he is a better choice than Tom Cruise. He clearly carries the tall, hulking figure of Jack Reacher in the series, that Lee Child originally envisioned in the books. Fans would love to know what the muscle man’s secret to his ripped body is. Many wouldn’t be thrilled to know that he resorts to Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

Ritchson had to keep his huge appearance for the role and the Trt therapy was recommended to him by a doctor. Other than Trt, the actor largely depended on his diet to keep his huge body. He once shared that he had to eat constantly to maintain his huge physique.

Franchise newcomer Sonya Cassidy plays Susan Duffy in Reacher Season 3, a special agent for the DEA who works out of the Boston Field Office. As mentioned, she comes from the capital of Massachusetts so viewers expect to hear a solid Boston accent.

Cassidy is British, so she had to learn and practice speaking with the said tone. Unfortunately, many fans weren’t thrilled about it despite her efforts to bring authenticity to her character. Boston accent, after all, is one of the hardest to master.

Reacher Season 3 risked treading some dangerous ground. The premise this time is that DEA agents Susan Duffy and Guillermo Villanueva tapped Reacher to infiltrate a criminal operation run by Zachary Beck. They staged a kidnapping of Beck's son Richard, which Reacher saves him from, complete with the phony murder of a cop. With nowhere to turn, he goes to Beck's and becomes an indispensable part of their organization.

It’s a new year, and that means a new season for Reacher. Each season of Reacher brings a new adaptation of one of the novels in Lee Childs' book series, with each entry bringing fresh locations, innovative characters, and another mystery for Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) to solve. With the latest season, it appears that the writers have set the character Sarah Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) as Reacher's new love interest in Season 3. Now that the series is established as a global streaming smash-hit for Prime Video, it's time to look at the revolving love interest convention for the series. Perhaps it’s time for Reacher as a series to tone down the revolving love interests.

The fourth episode of ReacherSeason 3 was heavy on backstory, but it provided vital context for the season. Not only do viewers understand why Reacher is so eager to get revenge on Xavier Quinn, but they understand all that's happening is his fault. Everything goes back to Sergeant First Class Dominique Kohl, the first protégé Reacher ever had.

Jack Reacher was a major in the US Army's Criminal Investigation Division. He ran a group called the "Special Investigators" who hunted, sometimes arrested and often killed big-time military criminals. Sfc Dominique Kohl dates back to before the Special Investigators were a group not to be messed with.

Author Lee Child recently shared why he finds Reacher Season 3 "annoying," but it’s not for the reasons you might think. Child first brought Jack Reacher to life in the 1997 novel Killing Floor, and has since published 28 more books in the series, with a 30th to come later this year. Following two film adaptations that starred Tom Cruise, Prime Video's series began in 2022, and has thus far been a big hit with fans and critics.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Child got candid about his thoughts on Reacher Season 3, which adapts the seventh book in his series, Persuader. Premiering on Feb. 20, the latest season is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 97% rating from critics, and its Popcornmeter sits at a strong 76% rating from fans. For Child, he says the reason he's so annoyed with things is that creator Nick Santora has managed to surpass the vision he had in his head while writing the book.

Having finally returned to Prime Video, the newest season of Reacher is arguably the best one yet. The show’s first season definitely set the bar high, and it’s a hard one to surpass. That being said, I think we can all agree that Season 3 is already leaps and bounds ahead of Season 2. Nevertheless, as this season continues to unfold, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) is that much closer to bringing down Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee). Also believed to be the nefarious Julius McCabe, the true villain in charge of everything, Episode 4 made it quite clear that he’s definitely an evil dude.

Whether you mistreat a dog or participate in an illegal arms deal, you'll likely end up with a body part in a cast after he's finished with you. However, there are exceptions regarding Reacher's s*** list, and last week, Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) found himself back on it after being initially scratched off years before.
