This 'Reacher' Star Is Ready to Take On 'Star Trek's Most Legendary Villain in New Series
Image
After entertaining audiences in Season 3 of Reacher as Susan Duffy, Sonya Cassidy is taking on another widely appreciated property. During the flurry of news revealed at the 2025 San Diego Comic Con, Men’s Journal reported that the actor was added to the cast of a new Star Trek venture. Cassidy will join the audio drama series, simply titled Star Trek: Khan. She was cast as Dr. Rosalind Lear, who investigates logs about the titular villain who has plagued the world of Star Trek since its inception.

The Khan in the audio drama is, of course, none other than Khan Noonien Singh, who has appeared in Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, and even had the J.J. Abrams treatment in Into Darkness. In this version, Khan will be portrayed by Lost’s own Naveen Andrews, who gained fan devotion while playing Oceanic survivor Sayid Jarrah.

‘Reacher’ Season 4: Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette Joins in Recasting
Image
Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette has joined the cast of “Reacher” Season 4 in a recasting.

He is set to play a new character, small-town policeman Jacob Merrick, in the Prime Video series, taking over for Jay Baruchel, who exited the series for personal reasons, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap. The news comes just weeks after Baruchel’s casting in the new season was announced.

Rodriguez-Marquette will star opposite Alan Ritchson, who plays the titular Jack Reacher, a former military policeman who solves crimes and paves out his own brand of street justice. He also joins cast members Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart and Olivier Richter.

Rodriguez-Marquette is best known for appearing as Chris Lucado in “Barry,” and can also be seen in “Just Friends,” “The Girl Next Door,” “Magnum P.I.,” “Sour Party,” “Rzr” and “The Fugitive.”

How Much Beck's Mansion From Reacher Season 3 Costs In Real Life
Image
"Reacher" season 3 was based on the best of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books: "Persuader." That meant we finally got to see Child's hulking hero skulking around a mansion on-screen for the first time, and judging by the fact "Reacher" season 3 broke a huge Prime Video record, it was all a big success.

Season 3 of the popular streaming series saw the titular ex-Army officer infiltrating the mansion of shady rug salesman Zachary Beck, played by Anthony Michael Hall. DEA agent Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) previously sent one of her informants into Beck's operation, only for her to go missing, which is why Reacher is tasked with following in her footsteps and uncovering the secrets of Beck's dodgy dealings. The rest of the season was a delight for action fans as we essentially got to see Alan Ritchson's Reacher taking down an entire crew from within. As /Film's Jacob Hall put it,...

Reacher Creator Lee Child Was Surprised By A Key Character's Casting In The Prime Video Series
Image
Casting is important on any TV or film project, but it was particularly significant on "Reacher." The immensely popular Prime Video series has broken records since it debuted in 2022, but when it first started, it was somewhat of a question mark. The series is, of course, based on the popular Jack Reacher books by British novelist Lee Child, which follow the titular ex-military policeman on his travels around the U.S. as he finds himself embroiled in all manner of debacles. But previous attempts to bring the character to the screen had proven divisive among fans of the novels.

For the 2012 movie "Jack Reacher," Tom Cruise was cast in the lead, which even Child himself has since admitted was a mistake. Cruise reprised the role in 2016's "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back," but fans simply weren't having it. At issue was the star's diminutive stature, which wasn't even close to...

How We Already Know There Will Be ‘Reacher’ Season 4 After Season 3 Finale Episode
Image
Reacher Season 4 has been confirmed! Yes, you read that right. The third installment of the crime drama premiered on February 20, 2025, with the first three episodes. However, even before the latest season’s finale episode aired, the studio announced the renewal of the show for a new season.

Helmed by Nick Santora, the Amazon Prime series is based on the popular Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child. Alan Ritchson plays the titular role, perfectly fitting the description of a former military policeman in the U.S. Army. The show garnered immense attention and went on to become one of the best-performing shows on the platform. In fact, Reacher became the most-streamed series in its debut week, a first for an Amazon production.

With such strong momentum, Reacher Season 2 became the streaming platform’s biggest show, ultimately leading to the renewal for a third season. Season 1 adapted The Killing Floor, the first...

Reacher Season 4: Everything We Know So Far
Image
"Reacher" topped the Nielsen streaming charts back in 2022 and has remained one of the most popular shows on Prime Video ever since. While season 2 wasn't every fans' cup of tea (even star Alan Ritchson has admitted something was wrong with the second run of episodes), season 3 was a true return to form, which, considering it adapted the best book from Lee Child's popular series, isn't too surprising.

The third season of the show was based on the seventh Jack Reacher novel "Persuader," and pit Reacher against an assortment of foes, including Olivier Richters' Paulie — a gigantic hulk of a man who was ever larger than the already huge Ritchson. Amazon clearly knew it had yet another smash hit on its hands as the company renewed "Reacher" for a fourth season three months before the third even debuted. Then, as expected, "Reacher" season 3 broke a huge Prime Video streaming record,...

Alan Ritchson Starring ‘Reacher’ Series Think Every Woman Exists Just to Swoon, It’s Getting Lazy, Boring, and Frankly Gross
Image
Be brutally honest if you’re an action TV buff: Doesn’t Alan Ritchson’s Jack Reacher feel like a beefed-up stars-and-stripes version of James Bond? Granted, one’s a retired US Army vet turned freelancer and the other’s a literal MI6 agent.

But there are way too many binding points against differences. And the one that sticks out over everything else is how both characters effortlessly tune out of any lasting romantic involvement by the time their respective credits roll through. It’s almost as if emotional detachment is part of their job description.

Alan Ritchson in a still from Reacher | Credits: Prime Video

Sure, that might’ve felt right back in the ’90s. But in 2025? A hard no. Today’s world of inclusivity demands a lot more from our men, especially considering how well-written many of these female-led characters are on the other side of the gender column.

'Reacher's Author Casts Doubt About Roscoe Returning for Season 4
Image
Willa Fitzgerald’s Roscoe Conklin was a breakout favorite in Reacher Season 1, thanks to her no-nonsense charisma and genuine chemistry with Alan Ritchson’s Don't Call Me Jack Reacher. But despite viewers holding out hope that she’d return, especially after Reacher Season 2 gave us a Finlay cameo and even name-dropped Roscoe, all signs now point to her absence being permanent — and this time, the confirmation comes straight from the top. We are disappointed.

Speaking to Forbes, Lee Child, the author behind the Jack Reacher novels, admitted that while he becomes emotionally attached to many of the women he writes — “I fall hopelessly in love with them,” he said — the structure of the books demands that they rarely stick around. “It’s always bittersweet,” Child explained, “but it works.” That logic, while understandable, might be frustrating for fans who saw potential in a deeper, long-term arc between Reacher and Roscoe.

A brief exchange at the close of Reacher‘s Season 3 finale seemed to set the tone for the Prime Video hit’s upcoming Neagley spinoff.

'Reacher' Season 4 Should Adapt Lee Child's 'Tripwire'
Image
The ReacherSeason 3 finale on March 27, 2025, was explosive, to say the least. The events of the episode had fans glued to the edge of their seats and delivered yet another satisfying conclusion to a thrilling chapter in Jack Reacher's on-screen journey. Since its debut in 2022, the Reacher series has been a powerhouse for Prime Video, drawing in a loyal following and exceptional Rotten Tomatoes scores. The action-packed series, based on Lee Child's novels, has masterfully brought Reacher's intense, no-nonsense world to screens.

Reacher Season 3 saw Reacher (Alan Ritchson) embark on a quest to bring down Xavier Quinn, a long-time nemesis responsible for the death of Reacher's first protégé, Dominique Kohl. The series' conclusion saw Reacher achieve not only his goal but also help Agent Susan Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) of the DEA succeed in her mission. Why Jack Reacher Is a Die Hard Yankees Fan, Explained
Image
Ever wondered why Jack Reacher, that massive, wandering ex-military guy who punches first and asks questions later, is so devoted to the New York Yankees? Trust us, it’s not just some random detail the writers threw in. Recently, the Amazon Prime Video series starring Alan Ritchson gave us a peek into this side of Reacher in Season 3, Episode 7, “L.A. Story.” Still, there’s actually a pretty fascinating backstory to why our favorite drifter bleeds Yankee blue.

Look, at first glance, you might think Reacher is just a human wrecking ball with not much going on upstairs. But those of us who’ve been following this character know there’s way more beneath that intimidating exterior. The guy’s got layers!

'Reacher' Season 3 Ending, Explained
Image
The Season 3 finale of Reacher just landed on Prime Video, and it was a worthy conclusion to what has been one of the best seasons of the series thus far. Every major player inevitably got what was coming to them, good or bad, which proved to be rather satisfying. It all came to a head with plenty of gunfire during Beck’s (Anthony Michael Hall) 50th birthday party. Merely just a ruse for Quinn’s (Brian Tee) business dealings, nothing unfolded as planned, at least for the bad guys.

After realizing the Atf unknowingly followed Beck into Quinn’s trap at the junkyard, it’s clear the buyers weren’t there to purchase a thing. Rather, it was all a set-up to get rid of Beck and blame everything on him, so Quinn could escape and hit the refresh button just like he'd done in the past. In the process,...

'Reacher' Season 3 Episode 7 Recap: Reacher Faces Epic Highs and Lows
Image
Following the rip-roaring events of last week's episode in the Prime Video knockout Reacher, in which the titular protagonist (Alan Ritchson) finally came face-to-face with his arch nemesis Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) and had to literally put the pedal-to-the-metal after his cover was blown, devoted viewers are growing more and more excited as the season finale draws nearer. An enraged Quinn sent the vicious behemoth Paulie (Olivier Richters) and his other henchmen to take out Reacher, but of course, they were no match for the formidable and fierce hero.

Worried that she has no way of ever finding Teresa (Storm Steenson) now that Reacher's been exposed as a rat, Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) is shocked when he claims that they may have another angle to work after all, ending Episode 6 on a cliffhanger when he declares they're heading to Los Angeles. Reacher Season 3's Most Inside Baseball Reference Caused Real-Life Confusion
Image
If there are two things Jack Reacher is going to do, it's crush bad guys with his bare hands and drop extremely obscure references to middle infielders who once played for the New York Yankees ... and he's all out of bad guys to crush. "Reacher" season 3 has been busy living up to the hype as the best installment of the Prime Video series since the first, throwing Alan Ritchson's brawny title character and his newfound ally/love interest Susan Duffy on a collision course with some of the biggest bads in author Lee Childs' entire franchise. But as much as these episodes have been taking their cues from the best of the books, one particularly funny moment from the season 3 premiere has to do with Reacher's trademark personality quirk from the source material: an encyclopedic knowledge of random Major League Baseball players.

Reacher Season 3 Just Broke a Major Prime Video Record
Image
Prime Video subscribers can't get enough of Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher. Amazon has just revealed that Season 3 of Reacher debuted to its largest audience yet.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Reacher Season 3 brought in 54.6 million viewers worldwide in the 19 days after its Feb. 20 premiere, according to internal figures from Amazon. This is reportedly a slight uptick from Season 2 over the same amount of time, meaning that Reacher Season 3 is now the biggest returning series in Prime Video's history. With nine months left in 2025, it remains to be seen if Reacher Season 3 will rank as the #1 title on the streamer across all movies and series worldwide for the year, a title that Season 2 received for 2023.

Reacher is based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child, which was first adapted as a film duology by Paramount Pictures with Tom Cruise as the eponymous drifter. After plans for a third film fell apart,...

'Reacher' Season 3 Episode 6 Recap: Covers and Boats Are Blown Up
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Reacher Season 3, Episode 6.

With only a couple more episodes to go until the Season 3 finale, Reacher is entering the home stretch and things are definitely heating up. After last week’s monumental cliffhanger, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) finally comes face to face with Julius McCabe. Despite my sneaking suspicions, it turns out that McCabe and Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) are indeed the same person. Whomp, whomp.

I’m a little disappointed that I was wrong, but here we are. While there was no surprise with Season 3’s villain, there was still a slight twist. Despite being shot off the edge of a cliff and falling into an icy river below, Quinn seemingly has no recollection of Reacher from all those years ago. I guess he was telling the truth about his retrograde amnesia during his time in the hospital. Who would have thought?

Reacher Season 3's Biggest Action Scene Pays Homage To A Sylvester Stallone Classic
Image
This post contains spoilers for "Reacher" season 3 episode 6.

Jack Reacher doesn't need to prove himself as a hero at this point. Across 29 books and what is now almost three seasons of Prime Video's "Reacher" series, the character has proven he is every bit the archetypal American action hero, dispatching armies of enemies with ease and weathering the kind of beatings that would snuff out lesser heroes. He's an itinerant former military policeman with an unwavering commitment to justice and chivalry who is always one step ahead of those that dare to cross him. Fans know the formula and Reacher delivers, time and time again.

But there's no doubt this particular American hero is indebted to those that came before him. While he clearly shares a lot in common with other contemporary characters, such as the similarly unstoppable John Wick, he is also quite clearly the modern equivalent of the muscle-bound...

“I fight for my job”: Alan Ritchson Isn’t Too Happy That He Still Hasn’t Changed Tom Cruise’s Fans’ Minds About Reacher Casting
Image
Alan Ritchson’s casting in the titular role in Prime Video’s Reacher was a big win for book readers. They have been strongly opposing the casting of Tom Cruise in the role in the two Jack Reacher films, which did decently well at the box office. Ritchson works really hard to maintain the huge and scary physique of Reacher. He wasn’t so happy when fans still questioned his casting.

Ritchson even received praise from the author of the Jack Reacher novels, Lee Child. According to Child, Ritchson was born to play the former military investigator-turned-vagabond. The actor also revealed that he almost lost the role to another actor before the studio gave him another chance.

Alan Ritchson is annoyed that fans still question his Reacher casting Alan Ritchson in a still from Reacher Season...

'Reacher' Season 3 Episode 5 Recap: Three Deaths and a Big Old Cliffhanger
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Reacher Season 3, Episode 5.

After last week’s heart-wrenching episode, it was a relief to watch the kind of episode that has become indicative of Prime Video’s Reacher. Of course, there were still a couple of sad and untimely deaths this week, but viewers weren’t as invested in those characters, nor was Reacher (Alan Ritchson). That isn’t to say their demise wasn’t unfortunate or somber. Their fate simply didn’t emotionally linger in the way Dominique Kohl’s (Mariah Robinson) death was meant to in Episode 4. Nevertheless, the death of certain characters in the newest episode had some pretty serious consequences for Reacher and his operation with Agent Duffy (Sonya Cassidy).

Last week’s cliffhanger left Duffy and Agent Villanueva (Roberto Montesinos) on the verge of discovery and death. After tracking Angel Doll’s (Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz) laptop to their location, McCabe’s people began shooting.

"You Can't Help But Fall in Love": 'Reacher' Author Praises Season 3's Newest Character
Image
For those watching Reacher Season 3, it's pretty hard not to be immediately captivated by Sonya Cassidy's performance as DEA Agent Susan Duffy. From the moment she enters the frame, she exudes the no-nonsense, tough-as-nails energy that defines a great Reacher character—sharp, unrelenting, and not afraid to get her hands dirty. Just the kind of back-up a giant slab of beef needs when he's working undercover in a criminal enterprise. For Reacher author Lee Child, seeing Cassidy bring Susan Duffy to life was a surreal experience. In an interview with Forbes, he admitted that writing Duffy in Persuader—the novel on which Season 3 is based—was both thrilling and bittersweet, given how attached he became.

Alan Ritchson Has Ended the Steroid Allegations for Good but Fans Can’t Still Accept the Fact That He Went Through Trt
Image
With the third season of Reacher, Alan Ritchson once again proves why he is a better choice than Tom Cruise. He clearly carries the tall, hulking figure of Jack Reacher in the series, that Lee Child originally envisioned in the books. Fans would love to know what the muscle man’s secret to his ripped body is. Many wouldn’t be thrilled to know that he resorts to Testosterone Replacement Therapy.

Ritchson had to keep his huge appearance for the role and the Trt therapy was recommended to him by a doctor. Other than Trt, the actor largely depended on his diet to keep his huge body. He once shared that he had to eat constantly to maintain his huge physique.

“Possibly the worst Boston accent I’ve ever heard”: Not Even Alan Ritchson’s Charisma Can Save Reacher Season 3 From a Major Controversy Over 1 Star
Image
Franchise newcomer Sonya Cassidy plays Susan Duffy in Reacher Season 3, a special agent for the DEA who works out of the Boston Field Office. As mentioned, she comes from the capital of Massachusetts so viewers expect to hear a solid Boston accent.

Sonya Cassidy in Reacher / Credits: Prime Video

Cassidy is British, so she had to learn and practice speaking with the said tone. Unfortunately, many fans weren’t thrilled about it despite her efforts to bring authenticity to her character. Boston accent, after all, is one of the hardest to master.

Reacher fans couldn’t get past Susan Duffy’s Boston accent

Sonya Cassidy is known for her roles in British period dramas, so taking on the challenge of starring in Reacher while channeling an unfamiliar accent was her biggest career venture so far.

Of course, she came prepared for this: the actress revealed she looked into Ben Affleck,...

Quick LinksReacher's Mission Is Born from His Past MistakesReacher Is Less Like the Hulk and More Like Batman In Season 3Reacher Could Easily Become Formulaic and Predictable

The following contains spoilers for Reacher Season 3, Episode 4, "Dominique" now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Reacher Season 3 risked treading some dangerous ground. The premise this time is that DEA agents Susan Duffy and Guillermo Villanueva tapped Reacher to infiltrate a criminal operation run by Zachary Beck. They staged a kidnapping of Beck's son Richard, which Reacher saves him from, complete with the phony murder of a cop. With nowhere to turn, he goes to Beck's and becomes an indispensable part of their organization.

Reacher agreed to this farce not because he wanted to see Beck taken down, or because he wanted to save Teresa Daniel, an innocent young woman who disappeared. Rather, he knows this group is tied to a man named Xavier Quinn,...

'Reacher' Needs To Slow Down on Its Love Interests
Image
It’s a new year, and that means a new season for Reacher. Each season of Reacher brings a new adaptation of one of the novels in Lee Childs' book series, with each entry bringing fresh locations, innovative characters, and another mystery for Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) to solve. With the latest season, it appears that the writers have set the character Sarah Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) as Reacher's new love interest in Season 3. Now that the series is established as a global streaming smash-hit for Prime Video, it's time to look at the revolving love interest convention for the series. Perhaps it’s time for Reacher as a series to tone down the revolving love interests.

Jack Reacher Once Crossed Into The World Of Bones (Kind Of)
Lee Child at an event for Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2016)
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Any fan of Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels, or Prime Video's TV adaptation "Reacher," knows that Jack is a lone wolf. The itinerant former military police officer's entire Mo is wandering the United States, ostensibly because he enjoys the nomadic lifestyle. During these wanderings he is frequently drawn into all manner of precarious situations where he must rely on his pre-eminent skills to right some awful injustice or bring down some criminal organization. As the archetypal American action hero, Reacher is pretty adept at winning the day and coming out on top, but that doesn't mean he doesn't need help from time to time.

Child's hero is frequently helped by former members of the 110th Special Investigators, Reacher's former military police unit. Most notably, his close ally Frances Neagley often provides a helping hand, joining Reacher on numerous...

Who Is Dominique Kohl In Reacher?
Image
Quick LinksSergeant First Class Dominque Kohl Was Reacher's ProtégéDominique Kohl's Death Can Reasonably Be Called Reacher's FaultDominique Kohl Is Reacher's Greatest Failure and Xavier Quinn Is a Living Reminder

The following contains spoilers for Reacher Season 3, Episode 4, "Dominique," now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

The fourth episode of ReacherSeason 3 was heavy on backstory, but it provided vital context for the season. Not only do viewers understand why Reacher is so eager to get revenge on Xavier Quinn, but they understand all that's happening is his fault. Everything goes back to Sergeant First Class Dominique Kohl, the first protégé Reacher ever had.

Jack Reacher was a major in the US Army's Criminal Investigation Division. He ran a group called the "Special Investigators" who hunted, sometimes arrested and often killed big-time military criminals. Sfc Dominique Kohl dates back to before the Special Investigators were a group not to be messed with.

'Reacher' Author Shares Why He's "Annoyed" With Season 3 of Hit Series
Image
Author Lee Child recently shared why he finds Reacher Season 3 "annoying," but it’s not for the reasons you might think. Child first brought Jack Reacher to life in the 1997 novel Killing Floor, and has since published 28 more books in the series, with a 30th to come later this year. Following two film adaptations that starred Tom Cruise, Prime Video's series began in 2022, and has thus far been a big hit with fans and critics.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Child got candid about his thoughts on Reacher Season 3, which adapts the seventh book in his series, Persuader. Premiering on Feb. 20, the latest season is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 97% rating from critics, and its Popcornmeter sits at a strong 76% rating from fans. For Child, he says the reason he's so annoyed with things is that creator Nick Santora has managed to surpass the vision he had in his head while writing the book.

'Reacher' Season 3 Episode 4 Recap: Reacher's Soft Side Is Showing
Image
Warning: Spoilers for Reacher Season 3, Episode 4.

Having finally returned to Prime Video, the newest season of Reacher is arguably the best one yet. The show’s first season definitely set the bar high, and it’s a hard one to surpass. That being said, I think we can all agree that Season 3 is already leaps and bounds ahead of Season 2. Nevertheless, as this season continues to unfold, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) is that much closer to bringing down Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee). Also believed to be the nefarious Julius McCabe, the true villain in charge of everything, Episode 4 made it quite clear that he’s definitely an evil dude.

In Bosch: Legacy Final-Season Trailer, Maddie Wonders: Did Her Dad Cross a Line? — Watch
Image
Maddie Bosch has big, lingering questions about her father, as seen in the first trailer for the third and final season of Bosch: Legacy.

At the close of Season 2, you’ll remember, Maddie (Madison Lintz) learned that her kidnapper, Kurt Dockweiler, died in prison of an overdose — likely murder via forced heroin injection. The finale ended with Maddie answering a collect call, on her dad’s phone, from inmate Preston Borders, who reported, “Tell your father that I did what he wanted…. Dockweiler. Tell him I took care of it.” Shellshocked, Maddie could barely utter, “Dad, what did you do?...

Reacher Season 3 Reveals A New And Terrifying Side Of Jack Reacher
Image
This post contains spoilers for "Reacher" season 3, episode 4, "Dominique."

Setting off Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) doesn't take much. Whether you mistreat a dog or participate in an illegal arms deal, you'll likely end up with a body part in a cast after he's finished with you. However, there are exceptions regarding Reacher's s*** list, and last week, Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) found himself back on it after being initially scratched off years before. In this case, though, Reacher doesn't want him in the hospital; he wants him where he left him last — lifeless and floating out to sea.

Continuing season 3 this week, we learn why Xavier Quinn, a former U.S. Army colonel turned arms dealer, is a ghost from Reacher's past that he's determined to exorcise. In perhaps one of the most emotional episodes ever, "Dominique" showcases Reacher reflecting on a case from his military days when he first encountered Quinn,...
