It's time for fans of DC's Legends of Tomorrow to celebrate, as the iconic television team has made a shocking jump into comic canon. The bad news: they're being hunted by an army aiming to kill all time travelers.
The shocking revelation arrives with little warning in Justice League: Dark Tomorrow Special #1, as a masked superhero seeks help from DC's greatest heroes. But it's the character's vehicle which begins to establish the TV/comic crossover, instantly recognizable as the Waverider piloted by the Arrowverse's time traveling squad.
The ship is only the first of several clues dropped for Legends of Tomorrow viewers, with the most important one being the true identity of the hero hiding beneath the mask (for now).

Brandon Routh and Rachael Leigh Cook are seemingly a new couple!
The two actors, both 45, were spotted holding hands while leaving a movie theater after a date night on Friday (July 25) in Los Angeles.
This isn’t the first time they’ve been spotted together. Back in February 2025, the restaurant HomeGrown in Des Moines, Iowa posted a photo of the possible couple dining at the restaurant.
Coincidentally, both Brandon and Rachael have starred in Hallmark Channel movies and they were both scheduled to attend Christmas Con in late 2024, but both had to cancel. People recently confirmed that they’ll both be there in December 2025.
Brandon and Rachael both shot to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Brandon is best known for playing Superman in the 2006 movie Superman Returns and for starring in the Arrowverse shows on The CW as Ray Palmer / The Atom. He was previously was married...

Superman could have been a very different movie if the title character was played by Nicholas Hoult. Hoult, who portrays Lex Luthor in the film, auditioned for the role of the Man of Steel -- and now James Gunn is opening up about why the X-Men star didn't get it.
Gunn, the man tasked with bringing Superman back to the big screen, talked to Jake's Takes (via Variety) about how he gave one of the most coveted roles in Hollywood to newcomer David Corenswet. He also revealed what swayed him between the two stars.
“Most people [auditioning for Superman] weren’t doing anything wrong, they just didn’t fit how I envisioned this Superman to be," Gunn said. "Nicholas Hoult auditioned. He’s a great actor. Some might say he’s better than David in certain ways, but he just didn’t fit the role. That’s why he didn’t get that.

As James Gunn continues to develop his Dcu with shows like Creature Commandos and films such as Superman gracing the screens of fans over the next year, some fans are looking back on one of the more successful live-action endeavors with DC Comics. Nicknamed the "Arrowverse," the series of television shows on the CW began with Arrow in 2011, starring Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, aka The Green Arrow. Arrow divided fans with its staunch canon divergences but ultimately ran for eight seasons, sparking an entire universe of seven television shows that eventually came to a close with the series finale of Superman & Lois last year. Many of the actors involved in the series became synonymous with their roles long after they played them, one of whom was Neal McDonough for his role as Damien Darhk, first appearing in Arrow, then eventually appearing in other shows such as The Flash and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Every great cop show needs that one villain who makes your blood boil, and The Rookie delivered big time with its most despicable bad guy. This wasn’t just your run-of-the-mill criminal; he was a racist, power-hungry nightmare who made life miserable for our favorite officers.
A still from The Rookie | Credits: Lionsgate Television
But here’s the kicker: the actor behind this perfectly played a-hole is actually a DC star. Watching him ooze arrogance and menace on The Rookie made it impossible to look away, even while hating his guts.

The Rookie didn’t need a masked supervillain — Brandon Routh’s Officer Doug Stanton was terrifying enough. Known for playing the charming Ray Palmer in the Arrowverse, Routh flipped the script in The Rookie Season 3, becoming the show’s most unsettling antagonist.

Before James Gunn rebooted the DC film and movie slate with the Dcu, before there even was a Dceu and long before Stephen Amell’s Arrow kicked off the popular Arrowverse, the star of DC shows and movies was dwindling. The latest project at the time, Superman Returns, starring Brandon Routh, was a flop of epic proportions.
Though Routh lost out on future roles as the Man of Steel, he returned to DC as Ray Palmer - The Atom - on the Arrowverse shows Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow, where he was a core cast member, along with his wife, Courtney Ford. Now that iconic couple has ended 17 years of marriage, though they admit the timing couldn't be worse.

Warning: contains spoilers for Justice League: The Atom Project #1!
It took decades, but DC now knows what to do with one of its most powerful characters. Captain Atom may not be a household name like Superman or Wonder Woman, but he is equally powerful, if not moreso, than those heroes. Despite his power, DC has struggled to make Captain Atom interesting, but as seen in Justice League: The Atom Project #1, that might be changing.
Justice League: The Atom Project #1 is written by Ryan Parrott and John Ridley and drawn by Mike Perkins. In Absolute Power, Amanda Waller stole powers from the heroes, including Captain Atom. Unlike many, Captain Atom still has not gotten them back yet. Ray Palmer and Ryan Choi, the Atoms, offer to help Captain Atom with his dilemma. He is reluctant, but goes with them to the Watchtower anyway. Later, Captain Atom flees the Watchtower, forcing Ray and Ryan to take action,...

Warning: contains spoilers for Justice League: The Atom Project #1!
DC is embracing the Justice League’s new era, but it could end up being much darker than fans expected. Every hero on Earth is now a member of the League, creating an army of heroes. The League is also helping those who lost their powers, and as seen in Justice League: The Atom Project #1, this well-meaning initiative has the potential to go quickly off the rails.
Writer John Ridley explored Amanda Waller's rise to power in Absolute Power: Origin.

Caity Lotz's Sara Lance, who originated on Arrow, was part of the main cast of Legends of Tomorrow, the third series set in The CW's Arrowverse. Despite the show's passionate fanbase, Legends was canceled after its seventh season, leaving its characters' storylines unresolved.
In a recent interview with Screen Rant to promote her new movie The Lockdown, Lotz opened up about Legends' cancelation and where Season 8 would have taken her character had the show continued. "Yeah, it definitely was a cliffhanger," she admitted, noting how the series finale ended with Booster Gold and the Legends being arrested. "But I know we were going to be in prison, so the next season would've started off with us in prison. And I know the pregnancy wasn't going to be a normal pregnancy, which is what I was looking forward to. It wasn't going to just be basically what I am now...

Warner Bros. and DC recently released the latest trailer for Blue Beetle. The film is directed by Angel Manuel Soto and stars Xolo Maridueña as the lead character of Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle. Blue Beetle tells the origin story of how, after graduating from college, Jaime Reyes comes into contact with an alien scarab that attaches to him and gives him a powerful exoskeleton armor.
Blue Beetle was originally intended to be released on HBO Max but was upgraded to a theatrical release and given a release date of August 18, 2023. The film is the first DC movie following The Flash and reportedly takes place in James Gunn's new Dcu plans.
