Matt Damon has apologised for offence caused by controversial statements he made about diversity in his show Project Greenlight.

The star said that they were "part of a much broader conversation about diversity in Hollywood".

The show, which sees Damon and Ben Affleck give a filmmaker the opportunity to direct a $3 million feature film, drew attention because of comments Damon made to Dear White People producer Effie Brown, who was advising on the programme.

In a segment, Brown remarked that she was more in favour of directing team Leo Kei Angelos and Kristen Brancaccio. Producer and writer Peter Farrelly says that he likes the two, though he remarks that he doesn't think that they will work.

Brown then asks other panelists to take into consideration how they treat the lead character in the movie, who is a black prostitute.

The Belgian film Cub validates the fear some of us have of spending the night in the woods. Cub on Blu-ray and DVD will hit stores on August 18th. Also: theatrical and digital release details for The Diabolical, HollyShorts Film Festival 2015 lineup, and Manos: The Hands of Fate soundtrack on vinyl.

Cub: Artsploitation Films will release Cub on Blu-ray and DVD on August 18th. Directed by Jonas Govaerts from a screenplay he wrote with Roel Mondelaers, Cub stars Maurice Luijten, Titus De Voogdt, Stef Aerts, Evelien Bosmans, and Jan Hammenecker.

"This dark, bloody, imaginative fairy tale about a camping trip that turns into deadly carnage draws on such influences as Lord of the Rings, Friday the 13th, and The Devil’s Backbone. The story follows 12-year-old outcast Sam who, along with his troop of cub scouts and their teenage supervisors, camp in woods rumored to house a mysterious and deadly werewolf.

Spectacular DC Superhero Action Short - First Impressions
Want to see a badass action-packed short film based around a popular DC superhero? Of course you do! The short is called "First Impressions," and on top of the impressively choreographed fight sequences, Doug Jones (Hellboy) stars in it! I'm sure you'll guess who the superhero is halfway through the film, but I don't want to spoil it for you, in case you don't figure it out. I will say that this is the best fan-made short about the character that I've seen. Here's a short plot summary...
