Cancelled in 2015 after five seasons, last year, Cinemax and Sky revived the Strike Back TV show with a new cast. Although its Nielsen ratings were way off from those of the original series and downright microscopic overall, now it's back for a seventh season. How long can it cling to life? A spy drama, Strike Back season seven stars Warren Brown, Daniel MacPherson, and Alin Sumarwata. New to the Cinemax cast this time out are Jamie Bamber and Yasemin Allen. Under their new commanding officer, Col. Alexander Coltrane (Bamber), the special-ops Section 20 soldiers -- Thomas “Mac” McAllister (Brown), Samuel Wyatt (MacPherson) and Gracie Novin (Sumarwata) -- pursue the stolen content of a crashed Russian bomber and cross paths with rogue Russian operative Katrina Zarkova (Allen).

Cinemax has set January 25 for the season 6 premiere of action series Strike Back. The premium cabler also released a trailer with a first look at the new season which was shot entirely in Malaysia.

Stars Warren Brown (Luther), Daniel MacPherson (A Wrinkle in Time) and Alin Sumarwata (Neighbours) return for Season 6 and are joined by new cast members Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) and Yasemin Kay Allen (Water and Fire).

Cinemax and UK co-producer Sky have ordered a reboot of the action series, which ran on the U.S. network for five seasons with stars Sullivan Stapleton (Blindspot) and Philip Winchester (Chicago Justice), our sister site Deadline reports.
