Dancing With the Stars‘ latest Season 34 casting announcement is already stirring up excitement among its pro dancers. It was revealed during The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Reunion Special on Tuesday, July 1, that cast members Jennifer Affleck and Whitney Leavitt will compete for the Len Goodman mirrorball trophy this fall. The news garnered excited reactions from many DWTS pros, including ones who are past and current members of the Mormon church. “We all saw the Dancing With the Stars announcement today. This is what I have to say,” Brandon Armstrong, who grew up in the Mormon faith, began a Tuesday TikTok video before pairing ballroom dance styles with things from the Mormon religion. “Mormons and mambos. Batucadas and bishops. Tangos and temples. Whisk and worship. I could go on for days. I’m a meme machine.” His wife, Brylee Armstrong, even suggested he be paired with Affleck or Leavitt in...

Hough points to Olympian Ilona Maher as one Season 33 contestant who raised the bar for “Dancing With the Stars” with her vulnerability on the show, and brought in a new generation of fans who followed her on social media during the Paris Games. “Dancing” will draw in a similar younger...

DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba says she’s ‘no longer trying to impress people’ in new year
Carrie Ann Inaba
Carrie Ann Inaba is “no longer trying to impress people” after her past year, which included Dancing With the Stars backlash.

She continues to appear as one of the judges on the ABC dance competition show alongside Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli.

However, fans have criticized Carrie Ann for her scores, critiques, and remarks towards competitors in Season 33.

That included a surprising exchange involving professional dancer Brandon Armstrong after the DWTS judge called out certain moves on the dancefloor.

‘DWTS’ Fans Livid Over Season 33 Finale, Threaten Boycotts
Image
The competition on Dancing With The Stars was especially fierce this year. Fans felt incredibly passionate about their favorite contestants and campaigned for them online. But as always, only one competing couple could win.

This year, The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei and his partner Jenna Johnson took home the Mirrorball Trophy. The pair had high scores from the start and consistently maintained them throughout the competition.

But even so, many DWTS viewers felt angry that another member of Bachelor Nation won the competition.

DWTS Fans Are Tired Of Bachelor Nation Contestants Winning

Over the course of 33 seasons, several members of Bachelor Nation competed for the Mirrorball Trophy. They don’t always win, but over the past few years, there have been several champions from the fandom. Hannah Brown and Kaitlyn Bristowe won Seasons 28 and 29 respectively. And now, Joey Graziadei has won Season 33.

‘DWTS’ Finalist Chandler Kinney Reveals What She Would Have Changed About Her Journey

Many fans feel that the pre-dance video packages that are shown on Dancing With the Stars can be just as important in getting viewer votes as the dances themselves are. So did pro Brandon Armstrong and his partner Chandler Kinney (Lethal Weapon), who came in third in one of the show’s most competitive seasons, miss an opportunity to share a little more of themselves with the program’s audience, which could have resulted in gaining more votes? Way back in Season 6, he appeared and performed on the show as a 13-year-old. “I’ve always just been a kid chasing a dream and it feels amazing to be living it!” Armstrong posted. “I have been getting...

Fans are expressing mixed feelings about Dancing with the Stars season 33 winners
Image
First of all, if you didn’t vote for anyone during the Dancing with the Stars season 33 finale, I don’t want to hear it! But if you did vote and have mixed feelings about the DWTS season 33 winners, Joey and Jenna, read on.

The Dancing with the Stars season 33 finale was Tuesday, Nov. 26. It was an unnecessary three-hour-long episode due to flashbacks and a look at some of the best moments of the season. This could have been featured on another date or just not included at all – but I digress!

DWTS season 33 final five couples were Joey and Jenna (winners), Ilona and Alan (2nd place), Chandler and Brandon (3rd place), Stephen and Rylee (4th place), and Danny and Witney (5th place). And honestly, Chandler and Brandon finishing in third place is criminal.

Unfortunately, the overstuffed three-hour finale dragged due to the return of various former stars, including Anna Delvey.

Of course, more sparks flew between Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko, who seemed determined to make viewers question their relationship status forever at this point.

Sadly, some performances probably didn’t deserve a spot in the finale.

Reality TV star Joey Graziadei and professional dancer Jenna Johnson won “Dancing With the Stars” Season 33, defying early expectations and delivering exceptional performances in Tuesday night’s dramatic conclusion.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Finale: Who Won Season 33?
Image
This story contains spoilers for the Nov. 26 episode of “Dancing With the Stars”

In Tuesday night’s Season 33 finale of “Dancing With the Stars,” the five final couples competed for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy with a “redemption” dance assigned by the judges in which they tackled a style they had previously gotten wrong.

The second round featured several eye-popping freestyle routines, including the showstopper of Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong — the first Black duo in the finale — staging a multi-decade tribute to renowned African-American dancers like the Nicholas Brothers that had Carrie Ann Inaba saying, “You’ve changed the future for people to come!” While Kinney seemed a shoo-in to take home the top prize, she shockingly ended in third place.

And the winner of Season 33 was “The Bachelor” star Joey Graziadei and partner Jenna Johnson, with Olympian Ilona Maher and her partner Alan Bersten taking second. Super Bowl...

Gleb Savchenko
Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko spark reunion rumors as they’re spotted kissing while rehearsing for the DWTS finale
Gleb Savchenko
Brooks Nader was dating pro dancer Gleb Savchenko when they appeared on Dancing With the Stars Season 33.

Things fizzled out when they were eliminated midway through the season, but now, there’s a chance that their relationship is back on.

DWTS pro Emma Slater took to TikTok to share a video of Brooks and Gleb rehearsing for the season finale.

While they lost their spot in the running for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy weeks ago, DWTS typically brings every contestant back for the finale to have a chance at another performance.

Yes, that means we’ll be forced to endure more rude comments from Anna Delvey.

Emma’s video showed several people associated with the long-running ABC series, but the most surprising was Gleb holding Brooks, her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist.

What We Know About DWTS' Season 33 Finale: Songs, Dances, And Who's Left
Image
It's hard to believe that Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars is about to take its final bow, but the end is indeed nigh and while fans are quite sad to see it go, the network has a lot planned for its proverbial last dances.

DWTS Season 33 has been an absolute roller coaster, from the controversial decision to cast ex-con Anna Delvey to several shock eliminations, two preemptions, and at least one "fake out" send-off.

Speaking of non-eliminations, last week's semifinals entailed just that: after an extremely tense build up, viewers were shocked when no one was sent home during the reality TV competition's penultimate episode.

In our recap, we reported:

"After revealing which couples [were] safe, Ilona and Danny and Stephen and Rylee remain[ed] in jeopardy. Pitting the Olympians against each other was some sly work on behalf of DWTS producers, but ultimately, they announce[d] thatSURPRISEnobody [was] going home."

Again, DWTS...

All I Want for Christmas Is for Joey To Win 'Dancing With the Stars'
Image
Every contestant who has made it to the final of Dancing With The Stars deserves to be there. This season has become so special to me because each couple is so entertaining in their own way. Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong are making history as the first black couple to make it to the finals. Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold are killing it with their social media presence. Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten have the most wholesome friendship I've ever seen on the show. Danny Amendola and Witney Carson may be the hottest duo I have ever seen on this show. But, one couple stands out because they are amazing together, both charismatically and technically; Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 33 Pairs Preview Finale Freestyles
Image
For the second year in a row, five couples will compete in the Dancing With the Stars finale! The contenders will dance a traditional “redemption” dance where they’re coached by one of the show’s three judges – Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli – as well as their highly anticipated “freestyle” routines. The latter allows the couples to display everything they’ve learned throughout the season. It’s not uncommon that the couple with the best and most entertaining freestyle ends up winning the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy. As far as redemption dances go, watch for Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong to revisit the Jive while Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson are going to take on once again the Cha-cha-cha. Ilona Maher and Alan Bersten are going to also do another Jive. Danny Amendola and Witney Carson will reprise the Tango. Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold will repeat the Quickstep.

Chandler And Brandon Just Made DWTS History, And We're So Excited
Image
Dancing With The Stars duo Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong officially made it to the finals this week, and in doing so, they also made history in the reality TV dance competition, becoming the first Black couple to do so.

Before we get into Chandler and Brandon's historic accomplishment, there's quite a bit of DWTS Season 33 context involved, and not all of it is pleasant.

Back on October 8, Episode 4 of Season 33, "Hair Metal Night," aired, with Gene Simmons as a guest judge and as the night wore on, fans couldn't help but notice that Gene seemed to be rating contestants in a racially biased way.

It wasn't just a handful of fans, either, and one Reddit user said in part:

"Genes scores last night clearly showed a discrepancy and bias among the white contestants having higher scores, and the Poc contestants having lower scores, despite the clear level of talent,...

Was Julianne Hough's Solo Dance Routine Was A Way Of Keeping Her Hosting Gig On DWTS?
Image
Julianne Hough has a long history with Dancing With the Stars that has seen her going from professional dancer to judge and co-host alongside Alfonso Riberio. Julianne made her debut as a pro in Season 4, and became a back-to-back mirrorball trophy winner after winning her very-first season and the following season. Julianne left after Season 8.

From Seasons 19-24, Julianne returned to the ballroom as a permanent fourth judge. After host Tyra Banks got the boot following Season 31, it felt like the perfect choice to have Julianne take up those duties.

However, fans have had mixed feelings over Julianne's co-hosting abilities. Fans don't believe she has the necessary skills to ask the right questions, while others believe they'd rather see her on the ballroom floor and not up in the skybox interviewing dancers. Her latest surprise dance routine during Season 33's semifinal night also surprised fans. Is she trying to save her job?...

‘DWTS’ Fans Angry Over Season Semi-Final

The DWTS Season 33 semi-final saw actress Chandler Kinney, The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei, rugby player Ilona Maher, Super Bowl champion Danny Amendola, and Olympian Stephen Nedoroscik compete in choreographed danced routines. Dancing with the Stars Season 33 has just one more episode left this season, but its runtime has been expanded to an unprecedented three hours.

In the past, extended episodes of unscripted shows have been bursting at the seams with filler to the point it’s evident network executives are trying to fill a timeslot.

Of course, Dancing with the Stars Season 33 has been a return to form, both in the ratings and creatively, so ABC can make advertisers happy with a longer episode.

Sadly, that decision led some disgruntled fans to voice their displeasure about it before the episode premieres.

One viewer used a scene of Big Ed Brown on 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days to get their point across.

“A 3 hour finale??? On a weekday??” the viewer added.

Indeed, it is a bit of a tough sell for a Tuesday night.
