Evangeline Is Back for Revenge [Trailer]
We've been tracking the female revenge thriller Evangeline for a couple of years though it's been a while since we saw anything from the movie other than news that it was playing film festivals here and there but just when I thought we'd never get a chance to see it, in comes an announcement that the movie is headed for release –and soon!

Written and directed by up-and-coming Canadian horror maven Karen Lam, Evangeline stars Kat de Lieva as the titular character, a college girl who falls for violent fraternity leader Michael (Richard Harmon of "Continuum" and "The 100" fame). He and some friends have their way with Evangeline and dump her in the woods to die. It's here that s [Continued ...]...

Evangeline Changes Shape and Tone Too Many Times: A Movie Review
*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by Uncork'd Entertainment. Director/writer: Karen Lam. Cast: Kat de Lieva, Richard Harmon, Mayumi Yoshida, David Lewis David Lewis and Kelvin Redvers. Evangeline is a revenge tale, from director Karen Lam. This title was completed in 2013, toured festivals and now, the film is set to release on home video formats. Though, this is one release that might best be forgotten. An homage to Alex Proyas' The Crow (1994), Evangeline is more rock video than a true film. Lam's storytelling style brings lots of characters to the screen, none of whom are really developed. Even the protagonist is shallow and mute, through much of the film. As well, so many ideas are introduced into the story, that Evangeline staggers all over the place. Only the visual style, which is often dark and moody, is consistent and well produced. Almost all other film elements are incongruous,...

Evangeline (2013) Film Review
Reviewed by Jesse Miller, MoreHorror.com

Plot: A naive university student, Evangeline, is brutalized by a gang of thrill seeking killers. Left to die in the forest, she is 'saved' by an ancient demon spirit, she goes on to seek her revenge.

Evangeline is a stylish and brutal gothic horror revenge film that looks great, sounds even better and before you’ve made your mind up that it’s just another typical revenge film…well, you’d be half right but don’t let that fool you because this particular film has got a great deal going on upstairs that you’ll have to peel back and look into and digest after all is said and slaughtered.

Have I seen a revenge film that is better looking than this? You know what, I’ll have to double check that fact but regardless Evangeline is a gorgeous looking horror film and...

Kat de Lieva stars as Evangeline while the rest of the cast is rounded out by Richard Harmon ("Continuum"), Mayumi Yoshida and Lam regular David Lewis.
