Cyclops Cosplay Gives Scott Summers a Reunion with His Superhero Dad
Image
Cyclops’ family life has always been complicated, but a terrific new cosplay celebrates the relationship that he’s built with his father Corsair. Scott Summer’s father might have spent most of his sons’ lives in space committing acts of piracy, but Corsair’s here for them now, and this cosplay is the perfect celebration of the father-son bond that’s been built up over decades of storytelling.

Instagram user @never5get has created an amazing Corsair cosplay, teaming up at Fan Expo Chicago with @oldfashionednerd as an equally spectacular Cyclops.

The cosplay features Dave Cockrum’s classic Corsair outfit: a red and black bodysuit with royal blue sash and bandanna. The Cylops cosplay takes inspiration from Jim Lee’s design from X-Men. @never5get credits @dtjaaaam for photography,...

Marvel's mutant families
James Hunt Oct 6, 2017

Ahead of The Gifted starting this weekend, we take a look at the mutant families of the Marvel world...

The forthcoming X-Men universe TV show, The Gifted, will be placing its focus on a family dealing with the awakening of its mutant children’s X-genes. Of course, Marvel is no stranger to mutant families – the X-Men franchise is practically overflowing with them.

Within the X-Men comics, the unexpected twists, turns and revelations about parentage that make it near-impossible to keep things straight. I’m trying not to include alternate-universe characters unless they’ve had a significant impact on the 'real' Marvel Universe too, otherwise let’s face it – we’d be here all week.

Magneto’s family

As the leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Magneto was the de facto patriarch to a substantial number of mutants – although in some cases, that meant literally. At one point,...

Deadpool 2: who is Cable?
Jim Dandy Apr 13, 2017

Now that we know Josh Brolin is playing Cable in Deadpool 2, the bigger question is...who the hell is Cable?

With Cable making his film debut in Deadpool 2, where he'll be played by Josh Brolin, you might be asking, “Who is Cable and why should I care?”

We're here to give you a clear, concise rundown of the history of Nathan Christopher Charles Summers...ha! Almost got it out with a straight face. The reality is Cable is a continuity black hole, but there’s a reason why he’s enduringly popular - and here it is in one sentence:

He’s a badass soldier from the future.

That’s the core of his appeal. There are layers (and layers and layers and layers... good heavens...

Fan Art of Dolph Lundgren as Cable in Deadpool 2
Last week, action star Dolph Lundgren revealed that he would be interested in playing Cable in Deadpool 2. A lot of fans seemed open to the idea of the actor taking on the role of Nathan Christopher Summers, a.k.a. Cable, and in case any of you were wondering what that might look like, Boss Logic whipped up the fan art that you see above for ComicBook.com.

Now that you can visualize Lundgren as Cable, what do you think? I’d be curious to see him in the role, but I also don’t think he’s the right man for the job. I just can’t wait to see who director Tim Miller actually ends up casting to bring this badass character to life.

Q&A with the writers of Thor and X-Men: First Class
We attended the McM Expo in London and heard what screenwriters Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz had to say about their work on X-Men: First Class and Thor…

The scriptwriters who worked on two of Marvel Studio's three major releases, May's Thor and this month's X-Men: First Class (although how much of their final work made it to the screen in that case is open to debate, as director Matthew Vaughn contends that the final shooting script was his and Jane Goldman's), brought a comic attitude to the plethora of panels held as part of May's London McM expo. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz jovially responded to a geekish inquisition about the characters and themes of their latest work, with equal enthusiasm for the subject matter.

Besides their contributions this year to Marvel properties, Miller and Stentz were responsible for inadvertently prolonging Frankie Muniz's career with their first big screen collaboration,...
