Anthony Bourdain thought Ratatouille & Road House were the best restaurant/bar movies
Image
Whenever you work within an industry, you can’t help but scrutinize the depiction of it in the movies. That’s especially so when you’re so immersed in it that it is your life. Take the late Anthony Bourdain, for example. He – better than most, also being a film buff – had authority to blast a flick if it didn’t capture the essence of or overly romanticized a kitchen, restaurant or bar. But there were some true winners in his eyes: Ratatouille and Road House.

For Anthony Bourdain, Pixar’s 2007 film takes the cake for the movie that is surprisingly the most accurate of portraying a restaurant. “I thought — Ratatouille probably came as close to being perfect as any film ever in portraying the industry. Again, little things. The burn scars on the woman chef’s arm. It was pretty, pretty good.” Also joining the list of Bourdain-approved restaurant...

The Expendables Movies Ranked
Image
When I turned 15, I developed a sudden compulsion to watch every 1980s and '90s action movie I could get my hands on -- not just the "Rambo" and "Terminator" films or the "RoboCop" and "Predator" movies, but also "Die Hard," "Commando," "TimeCop," and even "Cobra." The campier, the better. So, you can imagine what a delight it was to learn that the stars of all these ridiculous classics were joining forces for a throwback action flick in 2010.

I loved "The Expendables" then, and I love "The Expendables" now, but let's be honest; The franchise has been bad as often as it's been good. And even when it's good, it's that roll-your-eyes-and-laugh kind of good. Daring? Certainly. It takes a certain brazenness to throw Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Chuck Norris into a blender so many years...

That’s exactly what UFC star Kayla Harrison used to insult Rousey when her opponent, Julianna Peña, claimed she was nowhere on Ronda Rousey’s level. But Peña wasn’t about to let Harrison belittle Rousey without a response, she fired back with one of the most savage comebacks possible.

Edge Can Never be John Cena or Triple H and His Last WWE Run Proves It
Image
The final years of the career of wrestling stars are considered very important for the future of the business. The top promotions majorly use it as an opportunity to shape up their current rosters and give significant push to the talents of today at the expense of the veterans.

Over the years, many veterans have put over younger stars to elevate their status in WWE. A notable example was The Undertaker taking a crushing defeat at the hands of Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33, which gave a huge push to the then-young star who ultimately became the face of the company.

Moreover, top legends like Triple H and John Cena did the same in the final years of their career. Triple H had been doing the same in his prime years as well, putting over stars like John Cena and Batista and, later on, Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, and Seth Rollins.

Mark Wahlberg’s Rotten Action Thriller 'Mile 22' Finds Success on Streaming
Image
Mark Wahlberg’s panned action thriller from 2018 is currently finding new life on streaming. Mile 22, which sees Wahlberg reunite with Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day director Peter Berg, has now found its way into the top 10 on Starz, with audiences turning to this no-nonsense tale of Marky Mark and his leadership of an elite, top secret CIA unit.

Starring Mark Wahlberg, Iko Uwais, John Malkovich, Lauren Cohan, and Ronda Rousey, Mile 22 was met with largely negative reviews upon release. The action outing stands at just 23% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with audiences slightly more enamored and scoring the movie 44% on the Popcornmeter. “Mile 22 lets the bullets fly -- and not much else -- in a thrill-deficient action thriller whose title proves sadly fitting for a film that feels close to a marathon endurance test,” the critics’ consensus reads.
