Star Trek: Discovery's Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) was born from Section 31. Burnham became the legendary Captain of the USS Discovery in the 32nd century, where Michael and her crew saved the United Federation of Planets multiple times. Burnham's 930-year one-way jump to the future distanced her from the dark elements of her past, and Michael's infamy as Starfleet's first mutineer. Meanwhile, Section 31 is inextricably linked to Michael's history through her parents, Dr. Mike Burnham (Kenric Green) and Dr. Gabrielle Burnham (Sonja Sohn).
Section 31 was introduced in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and the Federation's black ops division has become an enduring Star Trek concept. Section 31 was central to Star Trek Into Darkness, but it truly came roaring back in Star Trek: Discovery. Section 31 was integral to Star Trek: Discovery season 2 as the organization's threat assessment A.I., Control, was the genocidal main villain of the season. However, Star...

This article contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead season 8 and The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.
With the sprawling world of AMC’s The Walking Dead ballooning to a franchise that includes sequels, prequels, and anthology series, it’s easy to forget the humble roots of the Frank Darabont days and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) waking up in the Harrison Memorial Hospital. While it’s sometimes hard to keep track of the various branches of the Deadverse, few have continued the story as faithfully as Fear the Walking Dead.
Starting out as a prequel to the events of the main series, Fear the Walking Dead soon took on a life of its own and told an epic story across eight seasons. Now that the whole story saga is on Netflix, it’s time to look back at the highs and lows of the shuffling series and how Fear the Walking Dead...

Here is a chronological list of how to watch Star Trek: Discovery, including Star Trek: Short Treks episodes, and their respective storylines. Star Trek: Short Treks chronologically weave in and out of Star Trek: Discovery's five seasons. Star Trek: Discovery starts in the mid-23rd century but concludes in the 33rd century, with its real ending set a thousand years after.
With its premiere in 2017, Star Trek: Discovery ended a 12-year gap between Star Trek TV shows and was met with mostly rave reviews. By introducing an all-new starship, a complex crew, and a twisting, serialized plot, Star Trek: Discovery solidified its place in the Star Trek timeline as one of the franchise's boldest and most fascinating stories. Along with new additions to the Star Trek canon, Star Trek: Discovery also reached towards Star Trek: The Original Series for familiar visuals, tropes, and characters. Star Trek: Discovery's first...

Heath's disappearance was due to scheduling conflicts, leaving room for a potential return to The Walking Dead universe. Speculation about Heath's fate with the Crm opens up possibilities for his character's story to evolve. Other characters from The Walking Dead universe, including Morgan and characters from World Beyond, could potentially appear in The Ones Who Live.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live was arguably the most anticipated spin-off in the expanding franchise, and it’s also, to date, the best-reviewed and most-watched one. Centered around the characters of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), they’re the focus of the six-episode first season.
However, with the primary setting being the Civic Republic Military (Crm) base, Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) also appears. This raises an interesting question about one long-forgotten character from The Walking Dead universe. It could, once and for all, close a storyline that has been hanging...

Star Trek's Section 31 used to be Starfleet's darkest secret, but many of their most evil deeds are now a matter of public record. A covert intelligence agency tasked with protecting the Federation no matter the cost, Section 31 has been responsible for attempted genocide, and incitement of war, and has even stooped to robbing the graves of some Starfleet legends. Their existence was uncovered by Doctor Julian Bashir (Alexander Siddig) in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, when Section 31 attempted to recruit DS9's genetically enhanced physician. Later Star Trek canon revealed that Section 31 has been part of Starfleet from before the founding of the Federation.
In Star Trek: Discovery season 2, the existence of Section 31 didn't appear to be a secret, as Starfleet trusted them to use artificial intelligence to predict new threats to the Federation. It's clear that at some point between Discovery and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Section 31 faded into obscurity.

Section 31 is one of Star Trek's most mysterious organizations, and there are only a handful of known members of the covert Starfleet Intelligence agency. First introduced in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the intelligence organization caught the attention of Dr. Julian Bashir (Alexander Siddig) and Captain Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) during the Dominion War. Section 31 were effectively given carte blanche to use whatever means necessary to protect the Federation, resorting to attempted genocide and intervening in Romulan politics. Section 31 saw themselves above the Prime Directive, and would stop at nothing to achieve their goals.
Despite DS9 implying that Section 31 only surfaced during the Dominion War, Star Trek: Enterprise revealed that the organization had actually been around for almost as long as Starfleet itself. The secretive organization continue to make an impact on Star Trek canon, with a Michelle Yeoh-led Star Trek: Section 31 movie on the way. Section...

Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) in Star Trek: Discovery is fortunate to be part of two families in two different eras. Burnham is Discovery's central character, and the focus on Michael as the primary lead distinguishes Discovery from other Star Trek series. In turn, Michael's rich backstory is supported by multiple parental figures, siblings, and a couple of notable love affairs with Lt. Ash Tyler (Shazad Latif) and Cleveland Booker (David Ajala).
The crew of the USS Discovery is very much a found family, bonded by their shared experience of time traveling 930 years into the future. However, Michael Burnham has benefited from a large cast of characters who have counted themselves as members of her family, be they biological or adoptive. In the 32nd century, Michael is now primarily on her own, although she does retain one parent that Captain Burnham can turn to for guidance. All in all,...

Did you catch all of these Easter eggs and references in Short Trek Season 2 Episodes 4 & 5? Because we did!
This Short Treks article contains spoilers for Season 2's Episodes 4 and 5.
Though Star Trek: Picard can’t come fast enough for some Trekkies, 2019 is ending a very strong year of fantastic new adventures in the final frontier. We got a kick-ass Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery, and this round of Short Treks has been not only fantastic, but also, extremely diverse in tone, structure and mood.
For the first time since 1976, Star Trek has returned to animated form with two new shorts; “The Girl Who Made the Stars” and “Ephraim and Dot.” Both new short episodes reference the larger canon of Star Trek, but not at all in the way you might expect. Both episodes are wildly different from each other, but also, different from anything Star Trek has ever tried.

Terrifyingly, we’re nearly at the end of yet another season of The Walking Dead, as it seems like only yesterday that speculation was rife as to which cast member’s contract had come to an end thanks to Negan’s baseball bat. Since the fateful events that night, season seven has slowly been building to a full blown war against The Saviors and everyone knows that war equals casualties. So as various characters embark on suicide missions, defect and come mentally unravelled, we thought it timely to look at who is most likely to fall in battle (or die like a dog), with little chance of making season eight.

While The Walker Stalkers host many Walking Dead conventions throughout the year, their biggest one takes place around Halloween in the state where the series is filmed: Georgia. This year’s Walker Stalker Con Atlanta will be brimming with special guests, including Rick Grimes himself, Andrew Lincoln.
Our friends at The Walker Stalkers recently announced that Andrew Lincoln, aka Rick Grimes, will be attending Walker Stalker Con Atlanta for one day only on Sunday, October 30th.
Lincoln is expected to take part in a panel and will also do photo-ops. Further details have yet to be revealed, but fans can expect panel seats and photo-op slots to quickly sell out once they become available to purchase.
This is a rare convention appearance for Lincoln, so fans of the actor and his work who live nearby (or even far away) will not want to miss this, especially since 100% of Lincoln’s...

As it so happens, unbeknownst to me until the interview took place, Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead’s Sasha) is married to one of Alexandria’s inhabitants in real life, Kenric Green, who plays the oft-wounded Scott. For this round table interview we had the pleasure of sitting down with both of them to gain an insight into their love of the show and the challenges it presents.
As season six draws to a close I’m actually more concerned for Sasha’s wellbeing than ever before, as if The Walking Dead has taught us one thing, it’s that being happy is a dangerous place to be. What makes the future for her and Abraham even more unlikely to be roses and sunsets,...

It's abundantly clear that the residents of Alexandria on "The Walking Dead" are made of softer stuff than Rick and the rest of our original survivors, as time and again their ignorance about the outside world has been exposed and exploited. Like we saw with Carter in the season premiere, the majority of Alexandrians have no idea how to go about killing walkers on their own; hell, they didn't even have someone regularly patrolling their walls until Constable Rick made it a priority when he rolled into town. So as this season unfolds, it should come as no surprise that many Alexandrians will probably bite the dust, as they did in the Wolf bloodbath last week. What I didn't expect, however, was one of the most seasoned members of Rick's crew to fall victim to that same foolishness and naivete.

Former sheriff Rick is on high alert as more dangers come his way this fall. The Walking Dead finally returns from its long hiatus on October 11, and it's not just zombies our beloved (and sometimes very hated) survivors will have to worry about. A new banner style poster has arrived to announce these all-new episodes, and we find a bruised and batter Andrew Lincoln standing guard as threats come in at all sides, with even some of his most trusty friends questioning his tactics.
Late last month, AMC released two new trailers for The Walking Dead Season 6. They highlighted some of the new arrivals in Alexandria this year. Zombie lovers are digging into AMC's new spinoff Fear the Walking Dead, which debuted over the weekend. But that show's arrival also means we're getting closer and closer to the Season 6 premiere of the flagship series The Walking Dead. While we wait for the October 11 premiere, AMC has released two new trailers, one of which features our favorite characters literally emerging from the shadows. Unfortunately, this video doesn't give us a look at any of the new faces fans will meet this season on The Walking Dead. We also get the first clip featuring Michael Cudlitz as Abraham and Sonequa Martin-Green as Sasha as they go for a ride.
