Laura Dern and Producing Partner Jayme Lemons on Their Road to ‘Palm Royale’
Image
Enlightened was more than just the title of the HBO TV series Laura Dern starred in from 2011-2013. It’s also the state of being the actress and her future producing partner, Jayme Lemons, found themselves in after Dern served as an executive producer and Lemons a first-time producer on the comedy-drama.

“Once we had that experience on Enlightened, we both felt like we have all of these other passions, maybe it’s time we focus more on getting these projects done,” Dern tells The Hollywood Reporter in the conversation below.

Thus the creation of Jaywalker Pictures in 2017, Dern and Lemons’ production company whose projects span genres. From the 2020 documentary The Way I See It, about the life of former Chief Official White House Photographer Pete Souza; and the Academy Award-winning short If Anything Happens I Love You, about two parents grieving their daughter who was killed in a school shooting,...

Quantumania Proves The MCU Wants A New Ant-Man
Image
Warning: spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania are ahead!Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania might’ve proved that the MCU is ready to move on to a new Ant-Man. Phase 5 of the Multiverse Saga has commenced, revealing the deadly threat facing the heroes and villains of Earth-616 alike. Surprisingly, Ant-Man and Wasp successfully beat Kang back from escaping the Quantum Realm, seemingly killing him by hitting him into his collapsing multiversal engine. However, this just opened the door to the next threat, the Kang Dynasty. Presumably, this could be setting the stage for Kang variants to act as antagonists for various upcoming projects throughout Phases 5 and 6.

While Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania introduced audiences to the Council of Kangs, led by Immortus, Rama-Tut, and a third Kang variant, it also expanded the roster of heroes by giving Cassie Lang her own super suit. Whether she takes up the moniker of Stinger,...

10 Comic Book Deaths That Haven’t Been Undone
Warner Bros

As the old comic book fan phrase used to go, “nobody stays dead in comics… except Bucky, Jason Todd and Uncle Ben.” But then, in 2005, the former two names on that short list – younger aides to Captain America and Batman, respectively – both made big comebacks.

This served as further proof that death is never an end in comic book fiction. At times, it seems like the writers in charge of Marvel and DC will resurrect whoever the hell they like – via any wacky means they can dream up – if they can fill a few bankable issues with a decent story as a result.

Incredibly rarely, this isn’t the case. Once in every seven blue moons, a character will die and stay dead in a comic book. Now it’s time to salute these fallen comic book characters; the select few who haven’t found a way back from their demise…...

This Isn't a Perfect "Seattle Superstorm"
It's me, Tom Foster, we worked together at Nasa.

Everybody has their skills. This family has more than their share. Or should I say, almost-family. Tom (Esai Morales) is an ex-nasa scientist with a specialty in chemistry and he’s engaged to Lt. Cmdr. Emma Peterson (Ona Grauer), the Navy liaison to the Disaster Management Agency. Tom has moved to Seattle with his son Wyatt (Jared Abrahamson) to be with her, but Wyatt is constantly fighting with Emma’s daughter Chloe (MacKenzie Porter) and might scupper the whole thing. Then an unidentified object, falling from the sky begins to hurtle towards Seattle. Shot down by a interceptor missile, two pieces of debris still hit Seattle causing some odd phenomena. That brings in the Dma, led by Jacob Stinson (Martin Cummins), who has some serious power issues with Bob Jefroe (Matty Finochio) as second-in-command. Smoke coming from the landing sites sparks...
