With Aiden back in Carrie’s life on And Just Like That…, one man has gone the way of Skipper Johnston.
After appearing on the first two seasons of HBO Max‘s Sex and the City continuation as Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) friend and podcast co-host Jackie Nee, Bobby Lee recently addressed his absence from Season 3.
“Some of the woke elements of the show, they got rid of, and I think I was a part of that,” Lee told Entertainment Weekly. “I think Sara [Ramirez] didn’t come back and some other people. They tried to put minorities in, and — I don’t know. I never saw the show.”
In February 2024, Deadline reported that Ramirez would not reprise their role as Miranda’s (Cynthia Nixon) non-binary comedian love interest Che Díaz in Season 3. The next month, Karen Pittman also exited her role as Columbia Law School professor, Dr. Nya Wallace.

When the news hit that Sex and the City was getting a sequel series, And Just Like That…, fans knew it couldn’t possibly be the same. Kim Cattrall’s well-publicized choice not to return to the role of Samantha was only the most obvious indicator — even if she had come back, viewers would be reuniting with the characters after they’d had marriages, children, career wins, career losses and all the other major changes that come with a couple of decades of living. And Just Like That… has honored both its protagonists and the fans who’d grown into middle age with them by portraying its leads as busy, vital and (most importantly) horny. But after watching the first six episodes of the imminent third season, I can’t help wondering: Is Carrie going to have Any fun this season?
This is a serious question, because And Just Like That…...

Editor's Note: The following contains spoilers for The Rookie Season 7, Episode 8.After Tim (Eric Winter) and Lucy's (Melissa O'Neil) breakup last season, The Rookieproved that no couple in the series was safe — that is, at least, for established married couples like Angela (Alyssa Diaz) and Wesley (Shawn Ashmore), and Nyla (Mekia Cox) and James (Arjay Smith). Sure, these couples are not without their problems, particularly this season. In a more trivial storyline, Wesley was jealous after learning through Blair London's (Danielle Campbell) tapes that Detective Graham (Ivan Hernandez) had a crush on Angela.

This week’s “The Rookie” brings a new complication for Bradford (Eric Winter) and Chen (Melissa O’Neil), just as their post-break up relationship is making its way back to lighthearted banter — and playful bets.
Speaking of bets, Jasmine Matthews is back in tonight’s new episode, “Out of Pocket,” as Rachel Hall. If you need a refresher, no big surprise, a lot has changed since we last saw the character! Rachel was last seen about five years ago in Season 2, when she had a romance with Tim. The pair met in the episode “The Bet,” after Chen made a bet with her then-t.O. Bradford that she could find a good match for him. She won that bet when Bradford and Rachel hit it off, sparking a relationship that spanned several episodes until her surprising exit.

Welcome back to the Mid-Wilshire Division and get ready for more sprawling shootouts in the streets of Los Angeles, “The Rookie” is back for Season 7. The action-packed, strike-shortened Season 6 brought a big Chenford breakup that broke fans’ hearts; a shady psychiatrist, Blair London (Danielle Campbell), who even got Tim to open up to her before her; and a devious turn for Monica (Bridget Regan), who emerged as the season’s big bad before escaping in the finale — but not before she and Blair got Mid-Wilshire tangled up in a corruption scandal that cost the lives of officers. Oh, and not only did recurring bad guy and fan-favorite Oscar Hutchinson (Matthew Glave) break out of prison, he brought Bailey’s criminal ex-husband Jason Wyler with him.
Naturally, Season 7 picks up in the thick of the action with the team hunting down Oscar and Jason.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from the first two episodes of Season 2 of “And Just Like That,” now streaming on Max.
When it came to making the second season of “And Just Like That” — Max’s popular revival of HBO’s iconic “Sex and the City” — showrunner Michael Patrick King found that he simply couldn’t fit what he and the writers had planned into the standard 10-episode season Max was expecting.

And Just Like That… season 1 was painful to watch. It stripped away the interesting conversations and themes that made Sex and the City so good to begin with. In its place, the updated series gave us characters who no longer had the same depth, touched on personal issues and journeys in the most shallow way possible, and struggled to make any of it interesting. And Just Like That… season 2 is a step up from season 1, but the bar is very, very low. I wasn’t expecting it to be a whole lot better, nor was I kidding myself in thinking it would have the quality of the original HBO series. But while there are moments that offer genuine warmth and humor, season 2 is plagued by more of the same surface-level nonsense. At this point, it’s simply unforgivable.
Season 2 picks up shortly after And Just Like That’s season 1 ending.

Sarah Jessica Parker has broken her silence on Kim Cattrall’s “And Just Like That…” cameo.

She told the Daily Mail: “We’ve been really thoughtful about the ways in which we’ve, you know, approached characters that hadn’t been around, the ways we have invited actors back and it’s been, you know, really fun and exciting and certainly nostalgic, but I think more than that, it’s been a lot of joy.”

One of the best things about Never Have I Ever is that it has unabashedly portrayed Devi as a flawed, messy teenager. She’s got a temper and lashes out, even when it’s unfair; sometimes, Devi’s outright mean, and other times she’s self-sabotaging, her mouth running away with her without realizing she’s hurt someone’s feelings. She can also be warm and loving, fierce and protective. And no matter what she does, there’s an unfailing sense of confidence and her bright spirit shines through in everything. Simply put, Devi is human, and it’s the show’s greatest strength, the writers unwilling to shy away from the mess and chaos that affects her life.
This is more apparent than ever in Never Have I Ever's finale, as it wraps up Devi’s story, which culminates in her senior year of high school and university prep.

HBO Max has dropped the Season 2 teaser for “And Just Like That,” its successful revival of “Sex and the City.” The company also announced the show will premiere in June, without announcing the specific date yet — at that point, the streamer will simply be known as Max.
The teaser, narrated by Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), begins with a very “Sex and the City” sentiment: “No matter what life hands you, you can always count on your closest friends to be there.” We then see a montage of scenes that reveal the current relationships of Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Che (Sara Ramírez) and Carrie and her podcast producer, Franklin (Ivan Hernandez). “It’s just sex!” Carrie says.
“And just like that,” Carrie continues, “I realized some things are better left in the past. But maybe… not everything.”
Which is when we see Carrie’s ex-boyfriend Aidan (John Corbett) appear on her stoop.

And Just Like That… season 2 gets a major filming update from Sarah Jessica Parker. The Sex and the City sequel premiered on HBO Max back in 2021, following Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they began a new chapter of their lives. Though the revival generated mixed reactions from fans and critics, and was originally intended as a limited series, a season 2 was announced last March. In addition to Parker, And Just Like That… season 2 will see the returns of Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Mario Cantone, David Eigenberg, and Evan Handler.
In a recent Instagram post, Parker revealed that filming for And Just Like That... season 2 has wrapped. This is the most significant update to arrive for the series in some time.

More than 15 years — well, 17 to be exact — since “Sex and the City” ended after six seasons on HBO, the beloved series returned with a sequel series, “And Just Like That”, on HBO Max in 2021. The new chapter in the franchise picked up 11 years after the events of two theatrical films, which left off with 2010’s “Sex and the City 2”, as it followed three of the four main characters — Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) — while they navigated the ups and downs of love, lust and other life events in their 50s.
After a much-seen and talked about 10-episode debut, which saw the demise of Mr. Big (Chris Noth) and the introduction of Che (Sara Ramirez) among other new friends, the series was renewed for a second season. And like the first, the new episodes are expected to see the return of familiar Sex and the City faces,...

There still may be no Samantha Jones and Mr. Big is six feet under, but HBO is promising that “And Just Like That” Season 2 has the same flair as “Sex and the City.”
“What you’re seeing this season is all of these characters embracing life,” HBO Max head of originals Sarah Aubrey told Variety of the upcoming second season of the revival series. “It’s a very joyful season and I think, in some ways, it feels like iconic ‘Sex and the City’ episodes.”
Executive producers and stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis are reprising their respective roles as Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte, along with Sarita Choudhury, Nicole Ari Parker, and Karen Pittman who are promoted to series regulars. John Corbett, who played one of the several boyfriends of Carrie Bradshaw through the original Sex And The City’s runtime, may be returning to the character Aidan Shaw in what was described as a “substantial arc” on the second season of And Just Like That...
Aidan’s return has yet to be officially confirmed by anyone at HBO Max or the creative team, but fans are certainly excited by the prospect. Corbett also told Page Six by saying he may appear in “quite a few” episodes of the second season. Parker later laughed off that comment on Watch What Happens Live and said Corbett was “doing that as a joke.”
Corbett’s Aidan and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie had a romance arc loved by fans and were even engaged. Carrie suddenly broke the engagement off after she realized Aidan still didn’t trust her from an affair she had with Mr.

A key question about Season 2 of “And Just Like That”: Will Carrie and Samantha still be texting?
“Yes!” answered a gleeful Michael Patrick King, the showrunner of the HBO Max series.
King and his writers’ room have only recently embarked on working on the second season of the “Sex and the City” revival. During an interview at his office on the Warner Bros. lot, though he was hesitant to share much about Season 2, King was happy to answer that question definitively. After all, the texting back-and-forth was the show’s inventive way of keeping Samantha on the show after Kim Cattrall has said she no longer wants to play Samantha.
King also indulged a question about what Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Samantha (formerly portrayed by Kim Cattrall) would have talked about during the finale when they saw each other off-screen during the finale, having made a plan after...
