This August Thunderbolts* might finally be coming to Disney+,and later than any Marvel movie before it.
A new commercial airing in Greece has started a wave of rumors, saying the movie will hit the streamer on Wednesday, August 27. If that’s true, it would mark the longest gap between a Marvel movie’s theater release and its Disney+ debut. The wait would be 117 days, which is even longer than Captain America: Brave New World (103 days), Deadpool & Wolverine (110 days), and The Marvels (92 days).
According to a Greek ad, 'Thunderbolts*' is coming to Disney+ on August 27.

That’s a bigger wait than we’ve seen before. For example, Captain America: Brave New World took 103 days to hit Disney+, Deadpool & Wolverine had a 110-day gap, and The Marvels came to the platform after just 92 days.

FX's comedy drama, The Bear, debuted its fourth season on June 25, and not long after, the series was renewed for a fifth season. According to Nielsen, The Bear was the seventh most-streamed title in the U.S. during the week of its fourth season premiere, as it hit an impressive 917 million minutes watched between June 23 to June 29. Despite such a notable tally, it falls short of the series' third installment. The Season 3 premiere of The Bear reached a collosal 1.2 billion minutes within a similar timeframe, with Season 4's numbers showing a drop-off of approximately 24%. The drop perhaps raises questions about the Emmy-winning series' long-term momentum despite critical acclaim.
It is, however, important to put these numbers into context. The Bear has enjoyed a four-season run so far, with a fifth confirmed in early July. Season 3's total of 1.2 billion minutes represents a series high, with Season 2 and Season 1 clocking...

Season 4 of The Bear premiered on Hulu and shortly after, FX renewed the show for a fifth season. While a renewal is more than welcome, Season 4 has received mixed reviews as far as critics and audiences are concerned. A look at the aggregator website, Rotten Tomatoes, shows that Season 4 currently holds scores of 85% from critics and 69% from audiences, the lowest in the show's history. Despite this, the show was in the news for the right reasons last week as it scored 13 Emmy nominations for its third season, bringing the show's grand total to 49 nominations. Veteran actress, Jamie Lee Curtis, who stars in the series as Donna Berzatto, received her second Emmy nomination for her work as Donna following her win last year.

We’re now several months removed from the release of Thunderbolts*, and as fans anxiously await its arrival on Disney+, the director of the film has just shed light on some major behind-the-scenes changes. Jake Schreier, who also recently directed an episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, was tapped to direct Thunderbolts* with a script from Eric Pearson and The Bear’s Joanna Calo. The film was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, and it’s one of the MCU’s biggest events in the Multiverse Saga, bringing together characters from various projects like Black Widow, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
One of the film’s brightest stars is Wyatt Russell, who returns as John Walker after first appearing in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. There was a rumor floating around that the original draft for Thunderbolts* had...

The internet does what the internet does — and when Thunderbolts* dropped, fans quickly zeroed in on a certain dynamic: Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) and Bob Reynolds, aka the Sentry (Lewis Pullman). The emotional connection between the two characters, both haunted by past trauma and struggling with their place in the world, struck a chord. But does that chemistry mean romance? According to director Jake Schreier... not exactly. Speaking with Collider’s Maggie Lovitt, Schreier acknowledged the fandom's excitement — and the flurry of “Boblena” edits that have taken over Tumblr and TikTok — but clarified what he and the creative team were actually going for:
“I wasn't surprised. I have seen the Boblena stuff. I think it's really cute. I don't view it as a romantic relationship, personally. But I think we knew that Lewis and Florence having chemistry, regardless of whether that's romantic chemistry or not, that relationship is so central...

Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier opened up about the creative team’s decision to change Taskmaster’s role in the final script. In the movie, Quantum of Solace star Olga Kurylenko portrayed the role of Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, who was originally introduced as one of the villains in 2021’s Black Widow.
In a previous interview with Diverto, Kurylenko confirmed that the first script she received featured Taskmaster making it through the entire movie. However, after the 2023 writer’s strike, script changes were made, with the creative team ultimately deciding to kill her character during the first act of the movie. Now, in a new interview with ScreenRant, Schreier clarified that the script was redeveloped prior to the strike. Contrary to previous rumors, he revealed that they didn’t add Taskmaster’s death just for the reshoots. “Just to be clear, it's not a late add for reshoots. Once we came out...

The Bear didn't waste time in scoring yet another season, as the show was officially renewed for Season 5 less than a week after Season 4 premiered on Hulu. The announcement is surely one that has dedicated fans of the show excited, despite the show's latest season dividing critics and audiences more than previous seasons. Season 4 currently holds the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score in the show's history, currently sitting at 86% from critics and 69% from audiences. That’s lower than Season 3's ratings and shows a sad decline from Season 1 and 2's ratings, which were in the 90s to 100. Recently, series star Molly Gordon shared an update regarding Season 5, following suggestions that the season could face an unprecedented delay.
Season 4 ended on a shocking note, as Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) decided that stepping away from The Bear was the best thing for his mental health and the strain he was being put through.

Ben Stiller is not a standup comedian — and that’s Ok.
At the 30th annual Nantucket Film Festival, Stiller assembled a group of comedy all-stars, as he has for the years, to discuss their journeys and share career insights while cracking up the auditorium audience.
This year, Stiller shared that he was “dead set against” a comedy career because it’s what his parents did, and an early attempt at standup in his teens pretty much killed that particular interest. The bit focused on New York City’s alternate side parking policy, and he even performed a version for festival-goers and his fellow panelists.
Obviously, comedy found its way to Stiller one way or another, but not on the path taken by the panel’s improvisers Amber Ruffin and Zach Cherry, or standups Iliza Shlesinger, Michael Ian Black, and Mae Martin. Shlesinger was working a desk job and asked her...

Calo, a writer on “The Bear” and “Thunderbolts*,” received the Excellence in Television Writing award, presented by “The Bear” star Lionel Boyce; “Andor” creator Tony Gilroy was honored by the Visionary Storyteller Award, presented by writer/director Scott Frank; and award-winning documentary director Alex Gibney was given the Special Achievement in Documentary Stroytelling honor. Calo, whose award was presented by Variety, gave two-time Oscar nominee Frank, a shoutout during her speech.

Carmy(Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) are back on our screens for a fourth time, with the kitchen doors of FX's The Bear swinging open once again for even more culinary chaos. However, following an underwhelming third season that saw plenty of fan backlash that even questioned the series' validity in awards categories, The Bear's fourth season couldn't shake off the sour taste left on the palate of some.
Just five days ago, Collider reported that Season 4 had earned an 80% score from critics on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, which, although receiving the "Certified Fresh" tag, was still the lowest in the franchise to date. Although a 69% rating from casual viewers helps this record not apply to audience scores, it is still a frustrating sign that The Bear might be in slight decline ever since its near-perfect opening two seasons. However, five days later,...

Even as fans debated whether The Bear was starting to lose its bite, FX has decided to stay in the kitchen. On the heels of The Bear Season 4’s premiere, the network officially announced the hit series has been renewed for a fifth season. The news comes despite the show’s latest installment receiving the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score in its history, currently sitting at 80% from critics and a worrying 69% from audiences. That’s a noticeable drop from the show’s flawless 100% runs for Seasons 1 and 2, and even lower than Season 3’s already softening numbers.
But according to FX Chairman John Landgraf, the audience is still showing up:

A television adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand‘s bestselling novel of the same name, The Perfect Couple, premiered in September 2024 and brought us face to face with the scheming and shenanigans of the Winbury family. The show was originally conceived as a miniseries, but given that it became an instant hit upon its premiere, streaming giant Netflix decided to turn it into an anthology. It is certainly welcome news for the show's audience, who can't seem to get enough of The Perfect Couple's first season, which starred Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber in its lead roles. The miniseries' main mystery might have been solved, but there is more to uncover in Season 2, and Hilderbrand has an update.
Yes, The Perfect Couple is returning for a second season, which will be based on Hilderbrand’s Swan Song novel. Speaking in June 2025, according to TV Insider, Hildebrand said, “If a Season 2 is made,...

There is so much to love about FX’s “The Bear.” From its technical precision to its culinary exhibition and intimate, chaotic character work, this vivid kitchen drama had no business being the megahit that it’s become.
Season 4 is the show’s weakest, if only because Christopher Storer and Joanna Calo set such a high bar in previous seasons. IndieWire’s spoiler-free review noted a dulled momentum when it came to key plot development and character growth. The mouthwatering food closeups still work wonders, the dialogue still flies almost faster than Tina’s pasta (Liza Colón-Zayas), and there are more Faks than ever.
But even after an objectively solid batch of episodes, “The Bear” feels stuck. It’s doing what it does best, but not doing much more — and that may be the problem. Without further ado (the clock is ticking!), IndieWire’s Ben Travers and Proma Khosla take...

Thunderbolts* opened to overwhelmingly positive reviews in May, but only managed to gross $381 million at the worldwide box office. So, where did it all go wrong for the McU's *New Avengers?
Marvel Studios cleverly marketed Thunderbolts* as a superhero movie with indie credentials. However, at a time when moviegoers will only turn up for event-level superhero films, that and a cast of characters from streaming wasn't enough to convince people to buy a ticket.
It's a shame, too, because Thunderbolts* featured the biggest tease for Avengers: Doomsday yet, with a lengthy post-credits scene directed by the Russo Brothers. Now, that's been released online, offering an HD look at the team's new costumes, the updated Avengers Tower, and the arrival of the Fantastic Four's ship.
Is Marvel's First Family aboard? What's brought the team to Earth-616? These are questions the Russos will answer in Avengers: Doomsday, as this is a...

If you enjoyed murder mystery drama series The Perfect Couple on Netflix, then we have some good news to share that indicate we should all be hopeful about the show's future. The series is based on a novel of the same name by author Elin Hilderbrand, and the writer recently shared a positive update recently.
Hilderbrand, as well as showrunner Jenna Lamia, took part in the Flipping the Script: Bestsellers to Screen panel at the Nantucket Film Festival. Of course, the topic of The Perfect Couple season 2 had to come up. The author didn't give a direct response on whether Netflix will be developing a second season, though her comments indicate that there are plans in the works. She was just sort of skirting around the answer. Here's what she said, per Variety:

Elin Hilderbrand is opening up about her many books that are being adapted for the small and big screen. At Nantucket Film Festival’s “Flipping the Script: Bestsellers to Screen” panel on Sunday, Hilderbrand was joined by Jenna Lamia, the showrunner of “The Perfect Couple” and the team from the upcoming “Five-Star Weekend” series, writer and producer Bekah Brunstetter, UCP executive Jen Gwartz, NBCUniversal’s Lisa Katz and producer Sue Naegle.
“The Five-Star Weekend” is currently in production, starring Jennifer Garner, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan, D’Arcy Carden and Timothy Olyphant. But it’s one of many in the works for Hilderbrand, whose first adaptation was “The Perfect Couple.”
“Jenna and I are developing the ‘Winter Street’ series with Netflix,” she laughed on the panel before diving into other adaptations coming. “I have a project going with Universal, which I won’t talk about.”

Season 4 of The Bear arrived with a lot of buzz, but not everyone’s loving it this time around. While the cast is still great and the show looks as sharp as ever, some fans and critics feel it’s losing the spark that made earlier seasons so exciting.
What once felt fresh and chaotic now seems a bit all over the place, and not in a good way. From messy pacing to awkward dialogue and plots that don’t really go anywhere, people are starting to worry that the show might be slipping. If things don’t tighten up, Season 5 could be on shaky ground. Here are three major criticisms that the fourth season faced,
1. Pacing feels rushed and overstuffed Jeramy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri in The Bear (2025) | Credits: Hulu

The following contains spoilers for Marvel Studios' "Thunderbolts*."
It's no secret that Phases 4 and 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe had their ups and downs. Since the unprecedented success of the Infinity Saga, particularly after "Avengers: Endgame," it's been an uphill battle for Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, who, in many ways, became a victim of his success. While there have been some standout home runs, such as "WandaVision" and "Spider-Man: No Way Home," the post-"Endgame" MCU has spawned some of the most uninspired entries in the franchise, including the abysmal "Secret Invasion" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania."
James Gunn, whose swan song with Marvel Studios came in the form of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," has shared his thoughts on why he believes the McU's woes speak to the struggles of the greater movie industry. Ultimately, a quality script is the top concern, and despite the property's missteps,...

Note: This story contains spoilers from “The Bear” Season 4.
Ahead of “The Bear” Season 4, series creator Christopher Storer warned Edwin Lee Gibson that there was a “little surprise” ahead for his character Ebraheim. But it wasn’t until Gibson ran into his co-star Lionel Boyce that he had any idea about what that surprise was.
“I hadn’t read all the scripts yet and Lionel, who plays Marcus, was like ‘Ah, so somebody saves The Bear this season.’ I was like, ‘What are you talking about?'” Gibson told TheWrap.
It’s a twist that’s perfectly fits Storer’s world that values love above all else and celebrates dedication and greatness in the most unlikely places. At the beginning of Season 4, the Chicago Tribune’s nail-biting review of the restaurant comes with one silver lining: as chaotic as the Bear is, the Beef window run by Ebra remains a standout.

While The Bear might not be the laugh-out-loud comedy Emmy voters claim it to be, that hasn't stopped showrunners Christopher Storer and Joanna Calo from poking fun at the mixed reception they received following a somewhat repetitive third season. That is, unless it's just a coincidence that the new season premiere begins with Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) waking up to Groundhog Day on TV.
Season 3 was far from an outright catastrophe, but it did feel like this once unstoppable series had grown somewhat stale, recycling ideas with just minute variations. As such, Carmy's restaurant and the show itself are both in dire need of a menu change-up, before visitors and viewers alike give up on The Bear completely.
Season 4 creates more space to ensure every main character gets their due.
At first, the Groundhog Day parallels feel almost too apt, with a reset that...

With 94 submissions, this year's Best Comedy Writing category at the Emmys will have six finalists when the nominations are announced July 15.
As expected, there are many single submissions from many of these front-runners, with no series entering more than two installments. But what may come as a surprise is the number of writers credited for scripting each episode — The Studio, for instance, has five writers for its entry. This, of course, does not matter in terms of voting, as writers are not listed on the ballot, but it’s an interesting side note to see how many scribes it takes to make people laugh.
This is a category that often defies conventional wisdom. Voters often gravitate towards shows that are less represented, such as last year when the branch nominated two canceled programs over others that were nominated for Best Comedy Series.

Plot: Season four of FX’s The Bear finds Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, Sydney Adamu and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich pushing forward, determined not only to survive, but also to take The Bear to the next level. With new challenges around every corner, the team must adapt, adjust and overcome. This season, the pursuit of excellence isn’t just about getting better – it’s about deciding what’s worth holding on to.

“Here’s one way to look at it: It’s really fun.”
So says a best-left-unnamed guest star in a best-left-unidentified episode of “The Bear” Season 4, by way of describing time spent with the Berzatto family. And really, our mystery speaker is right. For all the grief given to Christopher Storer and Joanna Calo’s FX restaurant drama after its down year — a succinct and undeniable description that would still spark at least two separate social media feuds — the third season was still just a bit disappointing, not an outright disaster. The second season remains a triumph, and the first season, well, without it, we wouldn’t be here, now would we?
To some sickos out there — the quoted speaker very much included — all of this, everything from fighting over how many awards “The Bear” should win to celebrating the highs and lows of each season, could be looked at as “fun.

There will be only one real spoiler in this review of The Bear Season Four, but it’s something revealed within the first few minutes of the premiere, and it’s impossible to talk about the restaurant drama’s return without digging into this. So if you don’t want to know whether the Chicago Tribune review of the restaurant — a.k.a., the subject of the cliffhanger ending to the show’s divisive third season — was positive or negative, come back later. Marvel’s latest movie Thunderbolts* has officially introduced a new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film brings together a group of unlikely characters and puts them on a risky mission, forcing them to rely on each other. But beyond the team-up, it also plants seeds for major future events in the MCU.
One of the most important changes is the formation of a new team, now called The New Avengers. This new lineup marks a shift away from the original Avengers, suggesting a fresh direction with new leaders and different kinds of heroes.
The movie also gives more depth to characters who were once seen as questionable. John Walker (U.S. Agent) and Ghost, for example, are no longer just side characters with unclear motives. The film gives them more personality and growth, helping audiences better understand where they stand.

Marvel Studios’ latest installment, Thunderbolts*, marks a major turning point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film accomplishes several key objectives that set the stage for future developments, both narratively and within the growing roster of heroes.
First and foremost, Thunderbolts introduces a brand-new team now officially known as The New Avengers. This signals a major shift in the MCU’s team dynamics and hints at a new generation of heroes poised to take the mantle from the original Avengers.
Secondly, the film successfully redeems several morally ambiguous characters. Figures like John Walker (U.S. Agent) and Ghost, who have previously straddled the line between hero and antihero, are given more nuanced portrayals.
Their arcs in Thunderbolts* humanize them and provide meaningful character development. The film also elevates Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, establishing her as a serious and dangerous power player within the MCU’s political and covert landscape.

In Thunderbolts*, Bob is revealed to be the only survivor of O.X.E. and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine's attempts to create a new superhero. We learn that everything from his haircut to his costume was designed by committee, and we now see how different the latter might have been.
John Staub, who designed The Sentry's final MCU costume, dreamed up some similar takes and others that were wildly different. Abby Elliott had known Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto would give birth during the third season of The Bear for a while. So when it came time for Elliott to give birth to her son in June 2023, she was prepared to go the extra mile.
“I knew that the contractions would be a part of the episode, so when I had my actual labor with my second child, with my son, I had my mom in the delivery room with me, and she recorded my contractions,” Elliott says during the latest episode of Awards Magnet. “So I could go back and watch them for acting purposes.”
For Elliott, the immersive approach to preparation was critical. She wanted to make sure Natalie’s contractions felt as real as possible, sharp and painful shocks that arrived quickly and broke up the tension of Natalie’s conversations with her estranged mother, Donna (Jamie Lee Curtis).

Voting for the 2025 Emmys officially opened today, and Gold Derby has spotted several intriguing strategies, omissions, and oddities in the ballots, which are available to view on the Television Academy website.
When it comes to the writing and directing categories, a popular strategy is to submit as few options as possible, so as not to split the vote. (Remember how Succession would only submit a single episode in writing each year? It won that race four seasons in a row.) That's why we're so surprised to see ABC's boat-themed medical drama Doctor Odyssey flooding the ballot 11 different times for Best Drama Directing. If the show can't pinpoint one or two stand-out directors out of Jen Lynch, Our Lady J, Tessa Blake, Paris Barclay, Crystle Roberson Dorsey, Brad Buecker, Millicent Shelton, Michael Medico, Steven Canals, Maggie Kiley, and John J. Gray, how are the voters supposed to?

Scarlett Johansson first played Natasha Romanoff in 2008's Iron Man. The actor bid farewell to the role over a decade later when Black Widow sacrificed herself to help save the universe in Avengers: Endgame.
Despite that, a Black Widow movie (set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War) followed two years later. The movie filled in some gaps in Natasha's past and gave the MCU a new Black Widow in Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova. However, it wasn't the origin story many fans had hoped for.
As for Johansson, the movie's debut on Disney+'s short-lived "Premier Access" service saw her sue Disney for the box office profits she lost out on. Ultimately, things were made right, and we learned that she would return to the MCU with an executive producer credit on Thunderbolts*.

As for Johansson, the movie's debut on Disney+'s short-lived "Premier Access" service saw her sue Disney for the box office profits she lost out on. Ultimately, things were made right, and we learned that she would return to the MCU with an executive producer credit on Thunderbolts*.
If you waited through the credits for that must-see Avengers: Doomsday tease, you might have...

Black Widow star Olga Kurylenko returned as Taskmaster in Thunderbolts*, but only had a couple of scenes and a single line of dialogue before she was shot and killed by Ghost. While fans didn't care for the character all that much beforehand, most seem to agree she deserved better.
Taskmaster's costume was still a big improvement over what we saw in Black Widow, and artist Aleksi Briclot has now shared an alternate take on the one Thunderbolt who never got to become a New Avenger.
"On this one, I’ve started from her previous look, tried to keep some elements of hints and I was going for a darker BlackOps," the artist wrote on Instagram. "Trying to catch the good visual vibe for the movie after reading the script."
"There is always some artistic licence like the bright skull face (it would act like a target in real life) but for this kind of movie,...

One of the writers of Marvel's Thunderbolts* movie recently defended the unusual way the story unfolded for Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan). The film sees the Winter Soldier working in politics as a Congressman.
In an interview with Marvel.com, Thunderbolts* screenwriter Joanna Calo talked about Bucky Barnes and why the Marvel Cinematic Universe had decided to have the character take such an unexpected turn. "I really loved the idea that Bucky is still genuinely trying to figure out how to make the world a better place, but he doesn’t fit in," she said. "After the terrible thing happened to him almost a hundred years ago, he really hasn’t fit into life. He’s always been out of time. So, that’s where he finds himself in Congress."
While some viewers found Bucky deciding to enter politics an unusual decision for a character otherwise portrayed as a vicious super soldier,...

Thunderbolts* concept art continues to find its way online, and we now have the cover for the movie's "Art of" book, along with a couple more alternate takes on The Sentry costume worn by Lewis Pullman's "Bob."
These early designs were illustrated by Constantine Sekeris and are quite a bit different from both the comics and what we saw in the movie itself. Ultimately, Marvel Studios went for a comic-accurate design, albeit with the expected MCU flair.
Sekeris' take leans more into the darkness within Robert Reynolds, and would have been interesting to see on screen once The Void emerged. The Sentry's costume in Thunderbolts* was designed by O.X.E. and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, so he may look very different again when we next see him.
"The Thunderbolts don’t want to let him out of their sight, because they realize that if he’s caught in the wrong hands,...

Thunderbolts* put the spotlight on several B-List characters in the hope of elevating them to the A-List (as members of the McU's New Avengers).
Among them was Red Guardian, whom we first met in 2021's Black Widow. While he was a comedic character, his relationship with Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova—as their "father"—gave Russia's Super Soldier a heart and made him an instant fan favourite.
In Thunderbolts*, Alexei enthusiastically embraces the chance to become a beloved superhero and helps point Yelena in the right direction as her mental health struggles continue. He does so in a costume not dissimilar to the one he wore in Black Widow, but the hero came close to getting a "Spec Ops" makeover.
As you can see below, new concept art shared by Aleksi Briclot imagines a very different take on Red Guardian. He explains, "I was dealing with a darker vibe on this proposal,...

Sebastian Stan's Bukcy Barnes has been through a lot in the MCU. He started as Captain America's best friend and sidekick, became his enemy as an agent of Hydra, found redemption in Wakanda, and later found a new ally in Sam Wilson.
In Thunderbolts*, Bucky is an acting Congressman, but his new gig doesn't last long. Pulled into Valentina Allegra de Fontaine's dastardly machinations, he teams up with the "Thunderbolts" and later co-leads the New Avengers alongside Yelena Belova.
Today, we have some cool new concept art from the movie showcasing the various costume designs considered for the former Winter Soldier's latest MCU return in Thunderbolts*.
Some of these work better than others, but there are a few that you could argue improve on what we saw in theaters earlier this month.
"I’ve been lucky," Stan recently said of his stint in the MCU that began with...

We first met Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova in 2021's Black Widow, a movie that, despite not being released in theaters, established the character as a firm fan favourite. Hawkeye helped with that, and Thunderbolts* cemented her role as the McU's new Black Widow.
As co-leader of the New Avengers alongside Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes, Yelena is expected to be a major player in Avengers: Doomsday (a recent rumour claimed to shed new light on what she'll be getting up to in the movie).
Now, concept artist Ji Hye Lee has shared her alternate designs for Yelena's suit in Thunderbolts*. A few double down on the Black Widow motif, while others seem a little more casual or pay homage to what she donned in Black Widow.
Yelena will get another updated costume in Avengers: Doomsday, and we caught our first glimpse at her New Avengers uniform in Thunderbolts*'s post-credits scene.

Thunderbolts* brought back many familiar faces, eventually revealing them as the McU's "New Avengers." We also met Mel, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine's put-upon assistant, played by Geraldine Viswanathan.
Mel doesn't suit up and shows no sign of having the same supersonic sound abilities as her comic book counterpart, Songbird. The response to Mel has been positive, though, and it surely wouldn't be that hard to have her suit up as the hero somewhere down the line.
Viswanathan has shared some photos on social media this week, and she's rocking striking white-blonde hair. Imagine a pink streak in that, and the actor would look like she's stepped straight out of the pages of the comic books as Songbird.
Unfortunately, the images are unrelated to her MCU role, but they offer at least an idea of what Viswanathan could look like as a comic-accurate Songbird. It's not currently clear when, where, or even if that will happen.
