Venom: The Last Dance is this weekend’s widest opener, playing at 622 locations for Sony.

This marks the end of the Tom Hardy-led trilogy, and kicks off with Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote on the run in Mexico. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans and Stephen Graham also star, with Kelly Marcel, writer of the first two films, directing.

It is the widest release of the trilogy. The second film,Let There Be Carnage, opened in 596 locations in October 2021 – up by 50 from 2018’s Venom. Venom took £5.6m across its first weekend, while Let There Be Carnage grossed £6.2m.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures dropped the blood-soaked trailer for “Kizumonogatari — Koyomi Vamp,” a recut of three popular “Kizumonogatari” anime features into a single film, which will screen for one day only, August 28, in Japanese with English subtitles. Tickets are currently on sale in select theaters through Fandango.

It’s about a high school student named Koyomi Araragi, who survives an encounter with a blond, golden-eyed, helpless vampire, Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade. Her legs and arms are cruelly torn apart, and her extravagant dress soaked in red. She’s a monster in a tragic state, lying in a pool of her own blood. But Koyomi saves her life by giving her his blood and becoming a vampire. To regain his humanity, he must help make her whole again.

Directed by Tatsuya Oishi and animated by Shaft, the original trilogy of “Kizumonogatari” films was released in 2016 and 2017 and adapted from the “Monogatari” series of novels by Nisioisin.

Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- begins with a kinetic display of carnage where its main character bursts into flames and careens down a skyscraper like a rogue pinball. Crunchyroll announced today that it has acquired North American and select international theatrical rights, including Mexico and Australia, for the ultra supernatural vampire film compilation Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- from Aniplex of America.

Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- is a three-film anime adaptation comprised of edited footage from the trilogy of films of the same name previously released in 2016 and 2017. It features animation produced by Shaft.

In yet another example of anime blending into the real world, to celebrate the release of the Kizumonogatari -Koyomi Vamp- anime film, a compilation re-edit of the three Kizumonogatari anime films, the film has taken over Shinjuku Sanchome Tokyo Metro station in a media blitz until January 15. For those with a keen eye and have seen the original three films, you might be able to tell that Shinjuku Sanchome Station was the inspiration behind the iconic scene where Araragi and Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade met for the very first time. Alongside the collaboration, the film also announced that French artist Clémentine will be returning to compose the ending theme song for the compilation film after previously working on the themes for the second and third outings.
