WWE Studios announced today they have acquired distribution rights to the indie thriller The Day. We also have five character posters from The Day, which feature the main characters Shawn Ashmore, Ashley Bell, Cory Hardrict, Dominic Monaghan, and Shannyn Sossamon. SyFy continues their own series of fairy tale's with horrific twists as they're gearing up for Mario Azzopardi's own version of "Hansel and Gretel," Gretl, which will star Shannen Doherty ("90210") in the title role. Paul McGillion (Star Trek, "The X-Files") has been cast as Hansel. "As an adult, a witch hunter (Hansel) returns to the village where he lived as a child to find and kill the witch who killed his sister, Gretl (Doherty), only to find that Gretl is not dead and danger lurks around every corner." John Boylan, Sarain Boylan and Jefferson Brown, round out the cast with Erica Cox, Marianthi Evans, Sophia Ewaniuk, Nahanni Johnstone, and Daniela Lazzaro. SyFy will air this coming November.

Man, that was fast! After airing only three episodes (including tonight's installment), ABC has decided to remove "Happy Town" for the remainder of May sweeps. The series will go on hiatus for two weeks, returning on June 2nd, when the first of its five remaining eps will air.
Per TVSeriesFinale.com next week’s episode will be replaced by an edition of "Primetime: What Would You Do?". On May 26th ABC will present the network premiere of the Transformers movie.
The series got off to a poor start two weeks ago with a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.25 million viewers. Last week, for Episode Two, viewership took a nosedive to a 1.2 in the demo and 3.79 million viewers.

Several days ago we told you about ABC's "Demand It" campaign for its new series "Happy Town" whereby once they reach 50,000 demands, everyone who participated will be able to watch the show online in advance of its April 28th premiere.
