Mark Ruffalo stars as an FBI agent tasked with solving a series of violent robberies in the new HBO drama series “Task.”

From “Mare of Easttown” creator Brad Ingelsby, “Task” dives into the working class suburbs of Philadelphia as Ruffalo’s character puts together a crucial Task Force. The cast is rounded out by Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel and Alison Oliver.

Ingelsby directed both Kate Winslet and Julianne Nicholson to Emmy wins in “Mare of Easttown.” “Task” is directed and executive produced by Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield. Additional executive producers include Ruffalo, Mark Roybal, Paul Lee, David Crockett and Ron Schmidt, while Mark Roybal and Paul Lee executive produce for wiip. Nicole Jordan-Webber and Jeremy Yaches co-executive produce for Public Record.

Gordon Ramsay is expanding his portfolio of reality TV cooking shows with something new and exciting: Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars. The new Apple TV+ show was announced as an eight-part docu-series that will follow the lives of distinguished chefs in their quest to achieve Michelin Stars.

The celebrity chef will serve as an executive producer on the show alongside Lisa Edwards and Morgan Roberts. James Callum, the series director, is also part of the production, and food expert Jesse Burgess has signed on as host. But what can viewers expect to see?

Exclusive: Apple TV+ is hunting for Michelin Stars in a new documentary series from Gordon Ramsay.

The streaming service has greenlit Studio Ramsay Global’s Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars, an eight-part series in which food expert Jesse Burgess spotlights the chefs pursuing and trying to keep hold of Michelin stars.

Burgess is the co-founder and presenter of Topjaw, a social media channel that reviews restaurants and interviews celebrities, including Idris Elba and Florence Pugh, about their favorite food spots.

With exclusive access to the Michelin Guide, the series will journey from Los Angeles to London on the trail of a team of inspectors who use false identities and phone numbers to dine anonymously and award stars.

The viral comedian is shining a spotlight on North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un via a Channel 4 doc from Late Night Lycett producer Rumpus Media, which will be at Sheffield DocFest next month.

After so many years doing this, it’s rare that a movie manages to surprise me with its insanity, so let us give thanks for the miracle that is Black Easter. There’s just something so special about watching a film made for Christian audiences where their Lord and Savior is executed at point blank range by a special forces mercenary who says this line:

I cannot believe Belfast won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay over this.

With its twisty time traveling and absolutely bonkers plot, Black Easter is like a a two-hour episode...

Who says faith-based movies can't be fun?

Probably a lot of people, including those who refused to make it, even after scriptwriter, Jim Carroll, won more than 60 awards for his script at various film festivals in 2020 with a film called Assassin 33A.D. That doesn't mean they're right.

Even with all of the accolades, Carroll couldn't sell the film, so he decided to make some changes. I haven't seen Assassin 33 A.D., but from what I understand, Black Easter is a more pithy version that has been edited to appeal to a broader audience.

That makes some sense since this is a Christian, faith-based film. The premise is that a Muslim billionaire named Ahmed hires a group of geniuses to create a time machine so that he can go back into time and kill Jesus for perpetrating one of the biggest scams of all time.

Written and directed by Jim Carroll, Assassin 33 A.D. takes the basic tenets of the faith film genre (i.e. Christian values) and shoves them into a schlocky, overly violent time travel plot. The result is deeply misguided and comfortably one of the worst films ever made.

After a prologue in which security guard Brandt (Donny Boaz) loses his faith after the death of his wife and daughters in a car crash, the plot centres on a group of science geniuses – including straight-laced team leader Ram Goldstein (Morgan Roberts) and his devoutly Christian colleague-slash-girlfriend Amy (Ilsa Devine) – who accidentally invent time travel while trying to create a matter transporter.

Their joy in their discovery is short-lived, however, because their wealthy boss Ahmed (Gerardo Davila) is secretly a Muslim terrorist...

The idea of doing a Friends styled horror / comedy with some Gen X humor seems like a surefire, can't miss kind of idea. Unfortunately, Zombies and Assholes misses the mark. During the introductory scenes, Jacqui Holland turns in a scene stealing performance. However, the humor that follows afterwards, doesn't have enough edge or bite. What makes something funny, is when the unexpected happens. With that in mind, the various scenarios presented in Zombies and Assholes are all a bit too safe and expected.
