Wme Signs ‘Justice League’ Star Ray Fisher
Logo
Exclusive: Wme has signed Justice League star Ray Fisher for representation.

Fisher is best known for his role as Victor Stone in the DC Universe — his character goes by the moniker Cyborg, a technological superhero with cybernetic super strength and other useful powers to help his fellow heroes. He appeared for the first time as Cyborg in a cameo in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

He can be next seen opposite Mahershala Ali in the upcoming season of HBO’s True Detective, which premieres next month.

Fisher initially began acting in theater, performing in various Shakespeare plays. His breakout performance was as Muhammad Ali in off-Broadway’s Fetch Clay, Make Man.

He will continue to be repped by attorney David Weber and Julie Caitlin Brown for personal appearances.

HBO Orders ‘Gorilla And The Bird’ Limited Series From Jean-Marc Vallée, Channing Tatum & Big Beach
HBO has greenlighted Gorilla and the Bird, a new limited series from Jean-Marc Vallée, the director/executive producer behind the network’s Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects. Vallée is set to direct and executive produce the project, based on Zack McDermott’s book Gorilla and the Bird: A Memoir of Madness and a Mother’s Love. It hails from Vallée’s crazyrose, Channing Tatum’s Free Association and Marc Turtletaub and Peter Saraf’s Big Beach, and will be an HBO-Big Beach co-production.

Written by Demolition scribe Bryan Sipe, who will serve as executive producer/showrunner, Gorilla and the Bird is described as an inspirational tale of a mother’s unconditional love for her bipolar son. It follows Zack (the Gorilla) as he fights to regain his sanity after a devastating psychotic break, turning to the only person who didn’t give up on him – his mother (The Bird...

‘What/If’: Blake Jenner To Star In Netflix Social Thriller Series
Blake Jenner
Glee alum Blake Jenner is set as the male lead in What/If, Netflix’s social thriller anthology drama series starring Renée Zellweger and Jane Levy from Revenge and Swingtown creator Mike Kelley. The series is written by Kelley, directed by Phillip Noyce and produced by Page Fright, Atlas Entertainment and Compari Entertainment in association with Warner Bros Television.

What/If explores the ripple effects of what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things. Each season will tackle a different morality tale inspired by culturally consequential source material, and the power of a single fateful decision to change the trajectory of an entire life.

I hear the 10-episode first season focuses on two struggling newlyweds, scientist-entrepreneur Lisa (Levy) and Emt Sean (Jenner), who accept a powerful woman’s (Zellweger) ethically perilous proposition to secure a badly needed financial windfall. All actors have one-year deals.

Executive producing the series are...
